The only explanation for these is that some AI from the future created this cybernetic human and sent them back in time to make people cry:

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Mouser - any way to batch/bulk edit LBC menu entries?
« Last post by mouser on November 20, 2015, 08:30 PM »
they are in the .lbc file which currently uses its own internal binary data file format, so you cant just find and replace in it.
it would be nice to move to an xml format.

If you can wait a week i can try to add option #2, it's way overdue.

its a great question.

there are a couple of answers:

1. LBC does have a kind of automatic "fix" mode that tries to check for drive letter changes -- but i dont remember which drives it checks.  you might try just copying the lbc to the other drive and chosing Tools ->Maintenance -> Find and report and then choose to fix paths.  see if that works.  if not i can probably make it work easily for your case.  it will only fix same path dif drive letter.

2. I do need to add a feature to let you do a find and replace on paths and captions, i will try to add that very soon.

3. You can also define LBC menu contents to be taken from a text file, at least to a limited degree.

chessnia, do you mean this to be a request for Screenshot Captor?
ps. in screenshot captor you can make a circular selection (from edit menu) and then CROP to that circle, which will make the background around circle transparent.

Skrommel's Software / Re: Desklock Startup
« Last post by mouser on November 18, 2015, 09:13 PM »
As I'm not a Desklock Startup user so i'm not too familiar with it, though i see the main thread (here) and the download (here).

But it looks like Desklock should just function to keep your icons from deviating from your custom position, not make them reset after rebooting..

I hope a desklock user can assist, but let me ask first, if you don't use desklock at all, are you saying that you can move the desktop icons around but when you reboot they reset to all being on the left hand side?  If so, does anyone know what could be doing that?
If you right-click on your desktop and choose the View menu, is "Auto-arrange" enabled, like so:
Screenshot - 11_18_2015 , 9_11_52 PM.png

if so, that could be the cause.

How long should a typical game take? What do you do when you've taken up all the cards of your draw pile?

games go quite fast and the answer to your question is one of the reasons.

when you run out of draw pile, that's it! no more new cards for you.

so a KEY part of strategy is not burning through your cards too quickly.

Ah yes, there are other apps that do that.
BUT, i believe what you'll find is that Windows 7 (and higher) has this feature built into it.  And as Windows 7 is a pretty unanimous improvement over win xp, upgrading windows may be the cleanest way to go.

Someone will hopefully correct me if I'm wrong about Windows 7 providing this feature built-in.

Thanks spamster for finding that option -- i forgot all about it.
So Subsim, just uncheck that and that should put an end to parents showing children contents.

The title for that options page is misleading isn't it? Too easy to overlook it.

Yep, server went down (first time in a while) for an hour or so due to one of those mysterious overloads.  I brought it back up and all seems right with the world again.

Tigger is soooooo beautiful.  You did the right thing and she was a lucky cat to be so loved.  My cat (of 18yrs) saffron died a little more than a year ago and i still miss her terribly much.

Just focusing on the deletion issue in the new portable install -- do you see any rhyme or reason to the deletion problems?

Anyone else experiencing deletion problems?

SubSim, can you email me ([email protected]), i'd like to get you a debug version to track down the nature of this deletion bug.

because I simply re-use clips instead of deleting them that's ok. If you cannot replicate the issue, don't worry about it, I can love with it.

well i can't -- it's not acceptable for clips to not delete.. are you doing anything odd when you are creating new groups?

i may have to make you a debug version of the program to see if we can track down the problem.. any error message in the statusbar when you try to delete?

can you try this? empty your CHS recycle bin, then delete a clip that fails to delete, and look in recycle bin -- is it there?

An idea.. can you try downloading the PORTABLE version of chs, and exit normal version and run portable version (it should use a new empty database), and see if you can delete clips from there.  Assuming so we can try to figure out why your real installation isn't.
