General Software Discussion / Re: TraceCovid

Other thing i am thinking is about the servers when received the informations.
The problem may be the servers of that app.
Internet is universal
The software is universal
Do you know if I can select the servers where I upload the data ?

In what way aren't they the same?

They both detect and store ID info of devices running the same app that you have been in close proximity to, this enables authorities to potentially notify the owners of those devices in the event of one of the owners of said devices testing positive for COVID ... and then only if said person decides to upload that data.

Obviously, you would install the app that has the greatest public presence in your region otherwise why bother?

BTW, where exactly does it say it uses the GPS?
Like most other similar apps, it uses Bluetooth to detect another device running the app with a distance of around 3m, (and sometimes if it's only within that distance for a minimum period of time).
No location info is collected because they can get that from info provided by Google/Apple/carrier and the phone itself, (if they're allowed).
You are right. Not use GPS, only bluetooth.

I reckon that's got to be an app for your country -- search in Spanish, do a bit of research to see if what you find is recommended or not. You know how it goes.

Can I use ? :

"TraceCovid is a mobile app that allows users to detect another device with the same installed app and share proximity data with it. For example, when you are at a supermarket, upon close proximity with someone who has also installed the TraceCovid app as you do, the app on both your devices will exchange an encrypted Secure Tracing Identifier (STI) and store the exchanged STI locally on your devices. The STI consists of anonymised data and timestamp. No personally identifiable information is collected.

When one of the users is infected with the virus, the official authorities will request the infected user to upload the list of STI stored locally on his or her device. This enables the official authorities to react faster and reach out to possibly infected people to render the necessary health care, and potentially minimise the spread of the virus."

Even with two devices may be possible.
As we know not all people walk at the same speed.
So one walkie talkie for the runners
and the other for the walkers.

At the present moment I have assumed that a mobile may be a radio receptor, but in bluetooth is a poor transmitter (0 - 1 meter , maximum 10 - 20 meters, samsung J5 I fear 1 meter....)
So the walkie-talkie mobile options are only if you have data.

There is another option with IP or wifi (need data then....).

So the only answer I think is using external walkie-talkies. In fact I have two motorolas . I have charged with the batteries and ready for next wednesday.....

Usually other walkie talkies half duplex are compatible. So another member with other "pair" may be useful.

They have to prepare and disinfect the devices before lend.

 :-* :P

P.D. This measure is pending of being approved by the members. I don't understand but there is a lot of fear. I think if I can assure more perhaps is possible. Perhaps using additionally an app like TraceCovid.

Do you know If I can use in Spain and obtain results ?

Spanish app is radar covid, I think

In Spain Nothing...

https://play.google....radarcovid&hl=en

[ Invalid Attachment ]

COVID Radar is the application designed and run by the Spanish Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Radar COVID alerts you anonymously of the possible contact that you have had in the last 14 days with a person who has been infected using Bluetooth technology of low consumption.

FYI: COVID-19 appsw
4wd you have seen the app TraceCovid

We are not talking the same....

But my real question is this.

Software is universal. Can I use TraceCovid ?

is based in interaction and GPS. Obviously I will not interact with a person in another country, bue TraceCovid may be useful in Spain....

There is a specific app in your country now ?
Spain have nothing. The future app will be a great one of course with all respect to the privacy...

I have documented about walkie talkies.

Usually are half duplex : one speak, rest listen. I can have a lot of devices . usually are compatible in the same band....

Full duplex : everybody talking is by ip or wifi. So is not interesting....

Isn't 10 to 12 meters, about the max a BT connection will cover
Well, that seems a bit out of time, BT has a range of 100 meters in modern (v3.1+) versions, and even up to 400 meters in v5 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) so that should be usable.

I guess Blutooth Chat is what you want.
Except that it doesn't seem to support speech, only chat and images.

This one, WiFi / Bluetooth Call & Chat does also support calls over both BT and WiFi.
mmmmm

I don't lose my hopes.

I will take a look with these searching keys....

Writing a letter, stick it on a brick, throw it. Might have more range than BT and you train your body \(°-°)/

Isn't 10 to 12 meters, about the max a BT connection will cover, (see below) stil within (loud) talking distance? Or you could buy a cheap set of walky talkies that does exactly what you need, just tune all to the same frequency.

Edit: Corrected.
It's a good idea. I remember I have one set from my old (and not so old) times in the mountain !

But can have a set for connecting more than two persons ?

If possible sure I can get something cheap online....

Until this moment the effective ways to control my wifi connection are :

Test with uTorrent. If the connection fails I can see clearly with active downloads.
From firefox if I can't browse...
From Firefox when appear a superior warning to reconnect (not always appear)

The rest of methods I apply fails.
From rainmeter network gadget the ip don't dissappear when I pull out the usb cable
From system and skwire wonderful app the signal of disconnection is recognized when i pull the cable usb to the wifi antenna.

So I need a miracle to monitor this connection...

If you think it's a WiFi problem I'd be using the ISP's DNS IP, (or one that is in the local region), as the reference point not IPs that are located in another country, (Google's closest seems to be Belgium).
Think or not think is a matter of opinion. I believe in Skwire that's my opinion.
I don't really know what to do. A few minutes ago I don't have connection, window appear, but the green light goes on after a second.
I can post now.

Green connection but there is web....
When I arrive to this situation usually I disconect and reconnect again. Sometimes I pull out the cable to a usb external antenna of 2 watt ALFA Network.

I am obtaining frequent warning windows , but the connection seems not lost.

Try using a different IP like Google's DNS servers.  8.8.8.8 or 4.4.4.4
Also, make sure the "Fire alert only once per consecutive host down events" option is checked as well.

I've been experiencing frequent (but relatively short--just a few minutes in most cases) outages with my internet lately, so your response in this thread prompted me to give Tray Host Checker a try. I'm using 8.8.8.8 and it's not uncommon for me to get a host down event, followed immediately (i.e., at the next 5 second check) by a host up event. (In fact, it just happened as I was typing this up!)

But I'm not experiencing any noticeable loss in internet connection during these short durations. It makes me wish there was an option to only trigger a host down event notification after N consecutive host down responses. That way I could, for example, configure it to check every 5 seconds, but only be notified if the connection was lost for 10, or 15, or 30 seconds consecutively. In other words, check every 5 seconds, but only notify after a configurable number (2, 3, or 6, in my example) of consecutive host down events occurs.

And also maybe an option to disable the first host up notification for the first host check when the app first starts up. I think the app should assume the connection has been working the first time it checks and therefore a host up notification is redundant.
I agree.

Now the power is in the skwire roof.

I have this android app installed in my mobile.
From the department of health of Abu Dhabi

https://play.google....id=ae.tracecovid.app

I would like to find the very best one to recommend to my friends and receive news when someone is infected, or myself.

do you know the very best one ?

I suppose in Europe will be an app for Spain, but I don't know at the present time. I don't see TV or similar, so I ask....

For Nany 2020 !
I am trying again (and again) to lose weight .

Here we are with the coronavirus crisis.

So.

I need to talk to someone !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is possible use an android mobile device to talk with other next mobile devices ?. Can I establish a sort of channel between two to ten participants . A sort of group to discuss while we are walking maintaining the security distance (12 meters or less is enough.... ) .

Obviously you can do this with a whatsapp group, sending audio messages, but I try with no cost because i have no data in my mobiles.

I remember hear about a touristic application for guides consisting in give the explanations with the use of a mobile device.

Is a sort of private (or public anyway) communications between a group very near by bluetoooth or similar method.

Do you have the app for this ?
