I just added a few more details of what I'm hoping to achieve with this project.

I might be able to add a quiz, but it's not top of my list  ;)
504

Always a good idea to add a post to describe what's changed  :)
505
I think it would be best for you to update your original post with the updated bits (help file, etc) so that the first post always gives all the information.

Once you get to something you think is a TEASER you can rename your post to that (so people know what's in the Thread).

When you're ready you can use the NANY Template for the standard text bits.
506
A short-cut to disappear the tip window would be handy too. Sometimes it gets in the way and you're not typing a word.  ;)

But you don't want to click or press ESC etc. for example in FARR and dialog boxes...
507
you probably should have completed the phrase before the tip window starts to block your typing.

:-[ Exactly correct... just thought that if the tip window moved (I thought it did, but it doesn't seem to once it's open) it'd be neat...

Thanks for the clarification... I think what'd be neat is if you could set the lists from the notification icon.

Can you have a function to dump the learned phrases to a document?
508
Yes, this is nice!

Question about the phraselist...

With learning, it's obviously better to have only one phraselist active? Where are the learned phrases put if multiple are active?

For that reason, I wonder if it would be helpful to be able to have a "Learning Enabled" setting for each phraselist?

Where does the "Frequent Patterns" get saved? In that sense, it might be a good idea to have a phraselist just for frequent patterns? In which case, it would be nicer to have not "phraselist" but "frequent list" and "common words" and "plant species" as that's better to remember what each list is for...

I really love it    The only thing that is a little annoying is the position:
BlitzType.png

sometimes gets hidden. The "on" has been covered by the tip window...

Thanks!

It's good to see that we have a song group there: I always wondered what happened in the social get-togethers  ;)

I'd be interested to see how the slides turn out?

There's only 43 posts to go till you get a straight

Come to think of it... there's only 85 for me to get half your straight  ;D

Living Room / Re: GPS Unit Recommendations?
« Last post by Perry Mowbray on May 20, 2010, 06:59 PM »
How do these models compare to the gps software on cell phones??

I think that would depend if the phone uses sat for its GPS or mobile tower (not sure what that's called).

Sat has a better accuracy than triangulation between mobile towers (not that I have a phone with GPS on it).

Is it still called GPS on a phone?
514
I like the flexible width of your site, Perry.  I may have to try to do that later, also.

I started with a strong dislike of fixed narrow width  ;)  In the end I found The Jello Mold site with lots of css templates that both helped me learn layout in css and get exactly what I wanted.

I have two:
  • An older Magellan unit that the kids bought me, and
  • A new Garmin

The Garmin is great, though more of a bush walking tool, although I did get the streets loaded as well so can use in car (but in-car is secondary for me); and I think the unit has been kept as small as possible so that it's not a drama when you're out and about.

But I'm guessing that you're wanting an in-car GPS?
518
Yes, I like the simple too!

When I was setting mine up I definitely wanted resizable columns so that the wide screens could take advantage of their width.

Narrow makes it easy because it displays the same anywhere; but I don't like the wasted space (for me or my guests).

Have you looked at SyncML?

I set up a trial account at Funambol and tested some of these with Open Contacts and managed to make a huge mess with my aggregated Google Contacts, ThunderBird Contacts and my Open Contact Contacts.  :-[

http://www.clipclip....nambol-scheduleworld is an interesting read too.

Funnily enough, I've dropped Open Contacts (it just didn't click with me), and I'm hoping that Cfx (that I'm doing for this years event) will satisfy my contacts needs.

But sync'ing it all together is the holy grail...  ;)

521
Or could the coders that are seeking donations simply put that in their Pledge / Teaser / etc Thread??

In some ways it's not too much different to asking for any other volunteer help for the project  :-\
522
but I am completely rewriting the command line argument parsing part of it and I may have to change the syntax. If I do, it's better until I wait for that part of it to be done before posting it.

Certainly... this is also a great place to post a Teaser (which is like a beta version for comments / suggestions) so that other members can have a play and make suggestions, etc (if that's what you're after)

Thanks

I've been wondering app if that means for every programme that you re-write it equals 3 entries (one for each OS)?  ;)
