(Just for the record, I had a handle on all the step-by-step. Just couldn't stop to try to figure out the problem with the code. But your excellent guide will make it easy and a pleasure to share your script with other frustrated Outlook users.)

It's choking on the quotes (") in the first column. If I remove the first one it chokes on the ampersand (&).

Clearly, I don't know what I'm doing.  :-[

This is embarrassingly lame but when I try to copy/paste your script into the VB editor it keeps throwing in CR/LF's and it won't run. Needless to say, an avid participant I am. But a coder I'm not!

2) Since you are using Outlook, you can use VBA (or any scripting language compatible with the scripting host, like Jscript) and interact with Outlook.

I sure wish somebody would do that. It's so annoying that Outlook handles attached images so poorly. M/$ says it's because of security. Humbug! From time to time I go hunting for a solution and am again amazed that there seem to be few or no solutions available.

I had an application a while back (can't recall the name just now) which worked OK. Would have gladly coughed up $10 for it but all the links to buy it were dead. Then the trial expired and it gaged.

The app didn't display the images in the message but when you clicked on any of several attached images and your viewer launched you could then page through all of them instead of having to go back to the message and open each one individually.

Thanks so much for the thought, Cuffy. But between the cost of fuel and the Draconian Hours of Service regulations in the US just about all the fun has gone out of the trucking game. I think I'll just stay hidden away up here in my secret location north of 48.

It seems a long time since I've been able to look out the window at a snow storm and think "How pretty" instead of OMG!

Slurp, splash.  Oh, darn it  >:(

Now that I've cleaned myself up ... I'm quite pleased with the Wacom application/options as it's quite easy to alter the scale and the "hot" area on the fly. Particularly useful as I have the tablet installed on my dual monitor set up. I can limit the pen work to the appropriate area of the screen real estate and use the mouse elsewhere.

BTW: Having had a little attack of "the stingies" when I bought mine, I can now see the value of forking out some more bucks for a Bluetooth tablet. I think that it's usefulness would be even greater if you were able to easily grab it an "kick back" in your chair to draw or whatever. And/or handle it more like a clipboard. AND not have it taking up desk space when not in use!

It becomes all the more fun if you're normally a left handed scribbler and a right handed mouser. One does have to be careful if trying to drink coffee (or similar) at the same time, though.  :-\

Thanks for those, guys. I've used Audacity some (although total recorder more) and I'm not aware of how I could employ it for other that real-time RE-recording. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

There are a number of audio players around which will allow adjustment the playback speed of an audio file - not least among them WMP. I am increasingly working with 'spoken word' MP3's which need a speed boost to keep my attention.

Does anyone know of an application which will allow me to copy and existing audio file at higher speed (e.g. x 1.4) without having to re-record it in real time? Cost IS an object   :-[

I've been using a Wacom Tablet for over a year and, although I haven't used Photoshop Elements (ver 3) very much, it and the others do indeed seem to be the real McCoy. I just flashed up Elements which has been installed since I got the tablet and it's ready to rock 'n roll. Registration info displayed properly and no sign of a "nag screen". GOFORIT!!  :Thmbsup:

Caveat: Not that I would malign Photoshop Elements as "bloatware" it did install some Adobe cataloging utility that wanted to process all of my photos whenever I connected a camera or memory card to the computer. Quite annoying since I use another application for that. So, if there's a custom install option (I don't remember) I'd use it and bypass that 'feature'.

I've been using the Pro version for a couple of years and love it. You can add a limited number of tabs to other reference sites (e.g. The Urban Dictionary). WordWeb acts like a mini-browser but can be configured to insert you search word to each of them.

I have had a little trouble with it lately. I seem to have installed a number of stand alone utilities and I think that WordWeb has become confused as far as hotkeys is concerned. As long as I make the first call of the day with the keyboard short cut it seems to behave normally from then on.

My only to suggestions for improvement are:
1. Allow more tabs. At last examination it wouldn't allow more than seven (although there has been a recent update - I haven't checked the tabs since installing that).
2. The drop down to add/edit tabs (Options/X-References/Edit Web Reference Tabs) is right above the Set Default ... button. If you accidentally hit that you're toast as there is no "Are you sure?" check. I've had a few "Oh No!!" runs and wiped out several carefully selected and tweaked tabs.

Thanks for the heads up!

I monitor GAOTD's RSS feed but have become considerably more conservative about installing their offerings especially because of the reinstall problems if needed later. The comments on the site are good hunting ground for alternatives though  :D

This offering (like Evernote a few weeks ago) has unusually high ratings from 'customers'. One commenter said that the application "high-jacked" his CD/DVD drive making unavailable to other programs. I had this happen on one machine (XP Pro SP2) when I installed Pinnicle Studio - thought I'd never get rid of all of the dregs  :mad:  Kinda like AOL and/or stepping in dog poo - yuck!  :wallbash:

Can anyone comment on that? (The high-jack ... not the dog poo.)
