I gotta say, when I first tried Vista and opened the Volume control I was ecstatic!  8) The ability to set volume on each individual application is great! While I no-longer use XP, I was also wondering if something like this existed for it. But I haven't been able to find anything else beyond that which has already been mentioned, and not to the degree of Vista's version. But that made me think, if it's been coded into Vista, couldn't there be a way to find that code, and make an app for XP?

I've started growing quite fond of steam for the very reason of convienience, it's easy to use, and if you like you can have it run at startup. You can link all non-steam games to the Games window for a quick list of all your toys. :) Plus, as Deozaan pointed out, they usually have great deals on some pretty hot/popular games. (Every weekend if I remember correctly)

I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case because I formatted her computer before and never do that for someone who doesn't specifically request it. So we're probably off the hook.  :P I appreciate the warning though. If push comes to shove, she has a TB external drive and we can back up her importants before facing yet another format.

My sister-in-law has extremely long passwords, which is a good thing, however after a recent password change to log in to XP, she forgot her password and now wants to know if there is any known method, besides formatting, to either recover her password or get past it and enter a new password? I've scratched my head about this for a while, but am unable to come up with anything. Any ideas? :-\

As far as coding, I have nothing to offer, however, I've been known to be pretty good at coming up with story ideas. I'd be more than happy to collaborate with anyone on a story for this.

I played until I made level 16 so I could try out all the available content for the free version. What a fun game. I never had too much of a problem staying alive, I guess the shield boosters were all that I carried in my Upgrade slots though. I also used the same strategy as Deozaan, keeping the traps for after the action as often as I could. Great game by http://www.rocksolidarcade.com I enjoy the Stunt Pilot game too.

I realized I put this in the wrong place, so here it is again. Sorry about that.

In my job, I have to do a lot of user password resets for multiple clients, on multiple servers. I was wondering if there was a tool or an application that can be made, or already has been made, to enter in the information and have it do it over multiple servers?

Example:

YOUR ID: johndoe
CLIENT ID: janedoe
Machine(s): server1, server2, server3, server4
YOUR PASS: password
NEW PASS: password


To do this manually, you'd have to enter something like this:

>ssh server1
(password prompt)
>sudo /usr/bin/passwd (userID)
(password prompt)
>exit

>ssh server2
(password prompt)
>sudo /usr/bin/passwd (userID)
(password prompt)
>exit

And so on. So if there is anyway to code this to work on Linux/Unix machines I'd really appreciate the help, and so would my co-workers.

Unfortunately, we work on Windows platform systems and use PuTTY to connect to the servers. I read through the information and it looks like this needs to be both installed and run from a Linux/Unix system. I appreciate the link though. 8)

Any Linux/Unix shell scripters out there that can help me create a mass password tool? :up:

nudone, I would love a Flash book. I am trying to learn how to program games in flash. I do not think that as a newbie to flash I would be the top pick as I am sure there are others who could probably do a better job with it then myself. However I would like to put out here that I am interested. As you know I have been posting about Game Making and I have a desire to make some unique games. Does anyone know how to create your own No-CD/DVD cracks? Please share your knowledge. I am looking particularly for Neverwinter Nights 2 v1.03. I have searched the web with no luck. If anyone knows how or can lead me in the right direction, I am sure there are several who would like to learn how to do this.

I tried to Download lanux128 link to TaskbarEX but when I clicked on the 1.3 link I got the following message.

I agree. Something this big will take a team that can dedicate their time and get paid for their labor. I think if we want to go with a smaller idea, we could go with some of the afore mentioned ideas. This was something I wanted some input on and some brainstorming.

Another thing, maybe we could tone this one down a bit. Drop the multiplayer aspect. More or less, use the idea where you can bulid up cities and command armies, I guess like a Civilization and Populous mix. As basic as the first Populous was, that may be too simple, but somewhere along those lines.
