N.A.N.Y. 2018 / Re: NANY 2018 Mug/T-Shirt Design Competition

The original image was about 800x600 and the code I used was from:

  https://github.com/l...eural-style-painting

It was the highest resolution I found.  Happy to try other ones (as well as adding other text before running images through the process), but getting a result will likely take longer (plus some minor code tweaking may be necessary).

If any one else wants to try, the following link has quite a large number of resources to choose from:

On a possibly related note, I tried running some existing cody images through style-transfer utilizing programs/services (e.g. deepart.io) to get things like:

0300.png

A few more examples at:

  http://ewemoa.dcmembers.com/tmp/1.jpg
  http://ewemoa.dcmembers.com/tmp/2.jpg
  http://ewemoa.dcmembers.com/tmp/3.jpg

May be this sort of process might be leveraged toward a design.

I don't suppose having one or more varying parts be visible without having to scroll is doable?  The "May we recommend" portion is not visible here unless I scroll all the way down -- it's just a guess but perhaps not that many random visitors would scroll down to find that portion and it seems a shame as IMHO the recommendations from DC are one of its (varied) appealing points.
56
I presume you are referring to the top page.

I don't have a specific design in mind, but one idea that came up was whether it might be possible to get the top page to be simple and sparse enough to fit on a single screen (i.e. no scrolling necessary).  Sorry to not have any mock-ups.
57
Nice effect with the result of clicking on "Read more..." for "May we recommend...".

It's true that some (2?) of the lines at the bottom are faded to indicate there might be more, but perhaps it'd be nicer to see the "Read more..." text without having to hover first.

How does that seem?

Was trying to use "open link in new tab" functionality in a browser for submenu items (of the menu along the top).  Noticed that when the pointer moved to the context menu (and hence off of the submenu), that the menu containing the submenu disappears.  Subsequently, choosing "open link in new tab" seems to work, but felt slightly disoriented.

Does this explanation make sense?

Looks nice :)

I hope the maintenance angle works out

Fun quote at the bottom of the krackattacks page:

So you expect to find other Wi-Fi vulnerabilities?

“I think we're just getting started.”  — Master Chief, Halo 1

The "Assigned CVE Identifiers" section mentioned 10 ids at the time of this writing :)

Here is some info regarding updates:

There is ongoing discussion here:

For the curious, the following has a kind of "description" of how one of the attacks might be carried out:

Sometimes I wish for a hardware rotation button or wheel...

Recently started using Tap 'n' Turn.

Tired of enabling the screen rotation everytime you want landscape mode? Automatic rotation always rotates the screen in the wrong moment? Then this App is for you!

Instead of rotating the screen right away, it displays an icon which allows you explicitly adjust the orientation.

Surprised to find that the device here can now be used in reverse portrait mode (can be nice for development) as well as see the home screen in landscape.

Is starting with an organization similar to the current one (w/ IainB's suggestion incorporated) and then changing it incrementally over time an option?

Spiffy :)

May be the following are known, but FWIW a couple of observations:

1) The corresponding value for "VALUES ABOVE ARE SPECIFIED IN" is not visible in portrait mode here -- this is in the dialog box that comes up after pressing the edit button for an item (e.g. "Change Oil").  It's fine in landscape mode, BTW.

2) In the same dialog box, the "DATE HISTORY" related fields below "VALUES ABOVE ARE SPECIFIED IN" don't show up in landscape mode.  It doesn't look like one can scroll to see them either.

I think the screen resolution on this device is 1280×720 and the OS is some recent nightly snapshot of LineageOS 14.1.  The version of WhenLast appears to be v2.15 2016-12-31.
72
Hurray :)

May motivation and luck be with you!

Thanks for the clarification.

Took a closer look and I see there are actually 5 slots + one on the back.  Nice.

The ones in the background give the impression that once one pulls the inner portion out, the inner portion will stay pulled out (i.e. not spring back).  Is that correct?
