I got that impression from Jon who told me in the forums that build 2111 is the "release" version of build 2110 as a reply to my question of this is the "final version" now.

You didn't ask if it was the "Final" version. You asked if it was the official release.

So Build 2111 is the official ST2 release?
-tux

A beta release can still be an official release.

From the Sublime Text 2 download page:

The current build of the Sublime Text 2 Beta is 2111.

And... nobody wants Portal? There's cake!

 ;D

Trouble is I always seem to get killed in the last moments of each level - haven't got my strategy totally sussed yet!

Some Defense Grid Strategy
I was having a hard time with Defense Grid's later levels until I saw somebody say they could beat every single level with just Guns, Cannons, and Temporals (and Anti-Air for maps with heavy air traffic). Throw in an occasional Command tower here and there near your kill zones to rack up extra money and you've likely got a formula for success on those levels you can't figure out a strategy for.

Also a lot of the strategy involves just making the aliens take a really long path.

And sometimes when I just can't kill that boss in time I will "juggle" them by opening up a path on one end and closing off the one he's heading for, and then when he gets close to the exit I reverse it by opening up the original path and closing off the one he's currently heading for. This makes them run by my guns multiple times as they head for the moving exit.

The direction* just doesnt make sense to me what with the default screen these days being 16:9

* pun not initially intended, but if it were vertical I'd consider trying it

Yeah, they're aware of that:

As this data shows, widescreen formats (those with a resolution ratio > 1.3) have become the standard. Of the top 20 screen resolutions, 17 of them are widescreen formats and they account for 83% of the total Windows 7 PC base.  This should make sense to everyone because the majority of PCs are laptops and almost all laptops are wide screen.  The two common standard resolutions are almost exclusively desktop PCs.  We had a lot of good discussion about display resolution in Engineering Windows 7 and likely this will be an interesting topic again.

Knowing this, we investigated a number of options for using widescreen formats more effectively with the goal that the total vertical space available for content was the same after we added the ribbon as it had been in Windows 7.

This approach gives you a new Details pane that is much easier to read, makes better use of widescreen formats, and preserves screen real estate for the main file/folder pane. The exact number of lines might vary a bit from PC to PC depending on what add-ins you have, but for the out-of-the-box configuration running full screen at 1366 X 768, you can actually fit two more lines on the screen than you could in Windows 7.

(emphasis added by me)

Running two copies at the same time may be a no-no, but it shouldn't stop you from installing it on one machine while playing a different game on another machine, just because it is the same account.

It doesn't stop you from doing that. Put one in offline mode while you install the game on the other machine.

* I have to enter an email verification code at least twice a week, if not more often because I use two computers and multiple browsers. Sometimes these emails take a while to arrive and in between... no play

This is for security.  You can turn this off in your settings.

I don't think you can turn this off. I've looked and I couldn't find how. It's an annoyance I'd like to disable. That said, I only have to enter the verification code once per browser per computer. The only reason I can see why you would have to do this so often is if you are clearing your cache/cookies or maybe if you're constantly changing your IP address?

I installed Facebook Disconnect just a day ago
-Jesper Hertel (August 26, 2011, 05:26 PM)

Be aware that Facebook Disconnect gets rid of the Facebook "Like" buttons on all websites except Facebook.com. I am personally glad of that feature, but it can cause confusion if you're on a site that says "Click the Like button to get your free content!" and the Like button is nowhere to be found.

I keep forgeting that youtube has ads since I always install ADP and modify my hosts file whenever I reinstall windows.

What is ADP and where do you get the information for what entries to add to your hosts file?

I've got a question about Ad Muncher's licensing:

License Usage Policy

The number of Ad Muncher licenses you purchase decides how many copies of Ad Muncher you can have installed at a time.

If you would like to move a license to a different system, Ad Muncher must be uninstalled from or reverted to trial mode on the first system before the license is used on the new one.

Do they somehow check and prevent you from installing it on more than one PC at a time or is it an "on your honor" type thing? Because what if your hardware breaks and you didn't uninstall or revert to trial mode and then you had to reinstall it on the same machine (with new HDD for example) or on a new machine?

I hate it when "DRM" counts a reinstall after a format as another one of my limited copies. >:(

How did you make that list? Did you edit it by hand? Or could you copy it directly using some nice extension? And how did the titles get bold? Is it possible to paste formatted text into comments here in the forum?
-Jesper Hertel (August 25, 2011, 11:15 AM)

I just copied it from the Chrome Extensions page and then manually edited it and bolded the titles. Regex would have been better except for the fact that it would have taken me longer to find out the expression to match the titles than it did to manually bold them all.  :D

Anyway, so it looks like we have the following in common:

Facebook Disconnect - Version: 1.0.2
Stop Facebook from tracking the webpages you go to.

SmoothScroll - Version: 1.0.1
Scrolls the websites smoothly when scrolling with the mouse wheel or the keyboard

So if it is an extension that is doing this to us, I guess it should be one of those two, since we're both experiencing the same issue.

I've got Adblock Plus for Chrome installed and I pretty much always see the little ad at the bottom of videos a few seconds in. It's annoying.

But I only see them once at most per video.

I have been searching for things like "chrome tab auto recover crash" and "chrome tab auto reload" but I can't find any other experiences either way that explain what's going on. So all I can tell you is that I suspect it's an extension you might have installed that periodically checks/reloads tabs, if it isn't crashing. Because I haven't seen tabs appearing to refresh itself and I use chrome for about 3 hours every day.

Interesting. I use Chrome for far longer each day, and usually never even close it except, obviously, when rebooting (which doesn't happen often).

As far as I know, none of my extensions should be reloading the tabs. Here are my extensions:

Adblock Plus for Google Chrome™ (Beta) - Version: 1.1.4

I've never seen this, only a prompt that asks me to restart chrome because its been a while and theres an update waiting to be installed.

Likewise. Are you sure it actually works the way you think it does?

- Oshyan

Nope. I'm not sure.

All I know is that occasionally all of my tabs suddenly reload themselves. I guess I just assumed it was because of an update but I suppose it could also be silently recovering from some sort of crash or something else entirely.

P.S. I wonder what happens to the apps that already bundles crapware toolbars within the installers, will the end-users end up with two toolbars trying to kill each other in the same browser? LOL.
-lotusrootstarch (August 24, 2011, 06:42 AM)

I hope it would be like Highlander meets Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.  There can be only one!  Two toolbars enter...one toolbar leaves.

I'd pay to see it.   :P

Except then the toolbar that won would absorb all the evil power of the defeated toolbar. Making it an ultra powerful evil toolbar that can't be uninstalled and leaves behind traces in the registry and other folders. >:(

Do you have a copy of the Trinity Rescue Kit? I frequently use it to skip around permissions by selecting share all with no security when it boots. Then grabbing anything wanted off the autoloaded Samba server. Just pulled 65GB of video's off the sales manager's laptop with it this morning (don't tell him... (hehe)).

Thank you! This seems to be working. Currently copying over ~260GB of data at about 9MB/s. This is gonna take a while. . .
