Screenshot Captor / Re: feature request: zoom buttons (+, -) - not urgent
« Last post by tomos on February 26, 2013, 03:44 AM »
mouse wheel alone should zoom in main SC window, regardless of size of image in relation to viewing area.. maybe an issue with new versions of windows that I'm not seeing? What OS do you have Tomos?

Ahh, I had presumed it needed Ctrl pressed !

mouser, this is one I've meant to report for a long time:
I have the same issue with just the mouse wheel:
image zooms till it is slightly larger than the window, then the wheel just scrolls it the couple of pixels up or down (or right/left depending on shape of image).
OS is Windows 7 pro 64bit

(Note, I see it works properly on Windows 8 64bit)

RE changing folder:

You can change the folder in preferences - it says 'you can also change this from the main file menu' but I dont see it  :-\  - found it, it's under the 'GoTo' menu (you can also configure move-to and go-to folders under the 'go-to' menu

Yes, his humor was disquieting because it was so self-deprecating, but that was his whole schtick; summed up in his famous tagline "I don't get no respect".  It's funny because we all have some degree of insecurity, and in some smaller or larger way can then sympathize; thus it becomes cathartic to laugh at those small insecurities brought larger than reality via the guise of absurd theater.

... or something like that.   :-[

Can't forget his adventure in rap music...

not in any way against this idea, but a "just-in-case" post -
have you noticed on the right-side, along the vertical toolbar, there is a slider to increase/reduce size?

Screenshot - 2013-02-25 , 16_27_06.png

I used SC for a couple of years before I noticed it (it's very discreet over there :) - btw I notice the % symbol is cropped there mouser)

I hope you dont mind me posting this below in your request thread aparente - it is related to the 'zoom' topic:
-
The way I most commonly zoom is Ctrl+MouseWheel. It's very easy and intuitive - as used in browser or PDF viewer (less commonly I use Ctrl++/Ctrl+-).
In SC, if the image is smaller than the viewing area, it will zoom with Ctrl+MouseWheel. Once the image is slightly larger than the viewing area, Ctrl+MouseWheel will scroll.
This seems like a bug to me (?)

my suggestions:

+ 1 for removing print
Then you could keep the two copy buttons seperate (preferable to me at any rate)
Halve the width of the "Send To" drop-down, and add the "Help Me" button beside it.
You'd still have one row less than now :up:

Community Giveaways / Re: Giveaway Rule Suggestion.
« Last post by tomos on February 23, 2013, 05:21 PM »
I totally agree, and contacted llc_silly in that regard.  That was what he had meant, and had set that as a rule on his giveaway.

wraith can I suggest you point this out in the post (or am I missing something?) - one of the posters seems pretty sure they won it :-\ - or maybe better let them sort it out between themselves...
FWIW he did say 'members', which isnt 100% clear ('participants' used be called 'members' - but I presume he meant supporting members)

^You're right Don

I had Super-fast thumbnails selected - when I deselect that the thumbnail quality is super.
As you say though:

Speed and quality is a trade off, of course.

~~~~~~
There's even very few image viewers that are *really* quick in loading images.
I used use ExifPro but havent used it properly in a while - it does now have a
64bit version. Okay, just checked it -when the thumbs are cached, it's almost
instantaneous display  :up:
mine is '96 too - just a *little* smaller ;-)
Toyota Starlet. Reached 300,000km a couple of months ago. Had it ten years now. Things wear out but I've never been let down by it (knocking frantically on wood here). Cant push it as much as before, but it still does a steady 90mph okay. Will have to dig out a pic, or take a new one.
Living Room / Re: Google Glass
woweee, dont want, but a fascinating new 'thing' ...
Here's the video from the article:
In the video he seems to be a bit negative about the design, in the article he raves about it:
The design of Glass is actually really beautiful. Elegant, sophisticated. They look human and a little bit alien all at once. Futuristic but not out of time — like an artifact from the 1960’s, someone trying to imagine what 2013 would be like. This is Apple-level design. No, in some ways it’s beyond what Apple has been doing recently. It’s daring, inventive, playful, and yet somehow still ultimately simple. The materials feel good in your hand and on your head, solid but surprisingly light. Comfortable. If Google keeps this up, soon we’ll be saying things like "this is Google-level design."
You might have to change file manager - or use an image viewer.
XYPlorer is quick to load thumbs (their quality isn't great though).
I dont know if any file manager copes really well with this.
I use directory opus - it has the option to load all thumbnails for the folder once opened. In spite of the fact that it caches thumbs, it is very busy for a good while on opening a folder with say a few hundred images. (I should check settings again, maybe it has used up all the space allocated to thumbnails).
This doesnt have a 'mouser' board of it's own so I'll post here:
Freshly installed:
Ran the exe, created a random sized frame/box.
Hit F9
It seems to start recording but after a second or so,
the screen (sometimes) blacks out and then I get this message:
--------------------------------------------------------
VideoRecorder ERROR: graph can't run: 80070016
--------------------------------------------------------
Screenshot - 2013-02-21 , 15_59_39.png
A file is saved but it just shows black in the mini-preview player at the end.
option to change settings - any suggestions?
EDIT/ win 7 pro 64bit  // install version of esr
He was snapped in a university Computer Science class photo
Knowing the wonders possible with Photoshop...and at the risk of being called "politically incorrect"...is it just me...or does it look like all the faces in that picture might actually be the same face?
 :huh:
I guess you could get caught out at worse things than political correctness ;D
it's quite well done, had me looking twice (or three times!) ...
Finished Programs / Re: IDEA: DropZone auto-hide, auto-show while dragging?
« Last post by tomos on February 19, 2013, 03:16 PM »
I put my post in a spoiler cause I'm not sure what's correct - I *think* that this board ("Finished Programs") is not actively reviewed - AFAIK it's more for requests that have been finished so it might not be checked often.
According to Skwire's dropzone page, the discussion thread for it is here:
https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=25410.0
You might get more attention Elancore if you post there :up:
Spoiler
Hi Elancore - you posted this in the wrong section - it's on the "Finished Programs" section which many people dont look at.
Can some moderater move it to Post New Requests board?
(It might get some more attention then)
EDIT/ what is DropZone anyway Elancore?
Is it from this site? No doesnt seem to be... (some more info + link might help :up:)
Funny - I didnt find it in dc search but it's an app of Skwires
[...] they've removed Acrobat Pro 8 and Photoshop Elements 5.0 from the list and added After Effects. There must be a reason...
Acrobat 8 was only there because they couldnt successfully get a version of 7 out there (7 was the version that came with CS2).
As of Jan.10, these were missing (i.e. for owners of same to reinstall)
    Production Studio Premium
    After Effects 7.0
    GoLive 9.0
    Creative Suite 2 for additional languages
    Acrobat 7 Professional
