Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: CHS Note field display disappears [Bug?]
« Last post by mouser on March 25, 2016, 09:00 PM »
How strange!

I have been unable to determine the steps I need to take to cause the error, so, though I have a useful workaround to it that works every time, the error itself is not deliberately repeatable.
yuck, i hate those.

But based on your description of the fix, i may be able to track down the problem.  Looking into it now.

Living Room / Samarost 3 - Beautiful charming computer game - is out today
« Last post by mouser on March 24, 2016, 05:41 PM »
One of the first games ever discussed on this forum, back in 2005, was Samarost -- a truly beautiful, different, charming, relaxing, hand-animated point-and-click adventure game about a little fellow who traveled in space.

Samarost 3 became available today and it looks like it's going to be another charmer.

Rock Paper Shotgun says: "Samorost 3 is so bursting with life, so lovingly crafted, that it’s impossible not to adore. I cannot think of a game whose soundtrack comes close to this, and few that are so pretty. Gnome’s yelps of delight, or enthusiastic dances, or the way he sometimes says, “Hop!” when he jumps, are idiotically adorable. It’s so alive, so intricate, and so graceful. I wonder if the difficulty will see it be a less celebrated game than the last two, but it really is a thing of beauty."

Samarost really does feel different than most of the point and click games you see on the internet.. it feels like you are experiencing a game from a different culture.. or a different planet..  I can't wait to try it.

I have deleted a couple of your posts from today that were made to very old threads.

Can you please correct the other posts that i have left alive from today to make them simply refer to your main announcement thread.

Jibz is right.

It's not helpful to make multiple posts with the details of the new version.

For many reasons.  For example it makes each of those posts places where people might think they should reply and ask about more information.

It also feels a lot like spam to readers when you make so many posts.
AND it looks a lot like spam to search engines like google when there is so much duplicated "advertisements".

The proper thing to do is make ONE post with the details about the new relase, and then in other threads which you feel are highly relevant and are recent, you can make a post saying something like:

"You might want to check out a shareware program i am involved in called copywhiz, which has just released a new version (5) which i have posted about here [link]."

Additionally, when there are so many threads that you feel are relevant, you need to pick just one or two that are most recent to post on and let the others age out gracefully, rather than revive old threads.

see https://www.donation....msg392939#msg392939

that thread suggests to go to dropbox options and enable prtscr then disable it.

maybe a reboot would help too?

It's probably another program that is stealing the PrtScr hotkey.  Do you have dropbox running? It has a default option to capture the PrtScr hotkey.

That could be true. Hardware is better (way better) but sometimes a active community of developers are important.
Is useless have the cutting edge hardware with buggy software.

very well said.  give me the slower hardware but better community and software support every time.

I don't read it as saying it will stop functioning after 6 months -- only that you won't be able to update it.
4838
so one solution would be an option that lets you choose what ctrl+c does.
4839
On a related note: is there a keyboard shortcut to copy file to clipboard (ctrl-c copies only file name to clipboard). @mouser: can this be included in FARR at some point?

this seems like a very good idea. what hotkey would you like?
4840
If anyone has windows 10 and farr and outlook, it would be great to hear about whether you also have this problem.
4841
Question: Can i confirm that the problem happens regardless of whether you are using the TinyEv plugin to find files, or normal farr search (or in fact farr direct directory listing)?
4842
Let me do some tests, and see if something jumps out at me in the way i'm doing drag+drop -- as i said i do have a faint memory of an issue that should be easy to check for.
I may email you a test version to try.
4843
if you use farr to find an IMAGE file (say a png), can you drag that file from farr to outlook?
if not, then it really does seem like it may be a limitation in the way farr is initiating a drag+drop, which may have worked in the past but is being ignored by the new version of outlook.  very strange but i can double check how farr is delivering the dragged file.

i do have a faint memory of a drag+drop issue once that was failing because of an extra \ or / in the file path which most programs didn't object to but some did.  it may be a similar problem -- if so it could be an easy fix on my end.

4844
it would be very helpful to me to hear if screenshot captor drag+drop to outlook worked.
4845
can you drag from any other program into outlook?
try dragging an image from screenshot captor thumbnail panel into outlook.
