I've used MS support many times and, for all but one, my experiences have been positive.

MS has a great support system in place.

The $50 for 1 TB at google is per month.

The best value seems to be 100 GB, since for the rest of them, doubling the space costs 1 cent more than the previous step (how odd).

Thank you.  That bit of the maths that Josh through up was boggling my mind.

I am human, despite rumors to the contrary!!

Compared to the competition, it's a good deal.

Actually, it's not.  I have about 5TB stored on S3 and I pay about $25/mo...

$50 * 5 (1TB @ 50 bucks per year) == 250

5TB @ 25 per month == 300

300 > 250

GDrive!!! Good idea!
483
Hmmmm, perhaps we could have CodyMarks!
484
I've tried XMarks and, like others have said, the profiles option is painful to use.

Given that my "liberated data" was 1.2TB, maybe that explains a lot ;-)

After over two months of rumors, Google has finally lifted the lid off of Google Drive. It's the company's entry into the cloud-based file storage service business that already has several competitors, including Microsoft's SkyDrive, Dropbox, Box and others.

In a post on Google's official blog, the company details what users can expect of Google Drive. First, the important stuff. You can use up to 5 GB of storage space on the service for free. However, much like Microsoft's just revamped SkyDrive, you can also purchase more storage space. Paying just $2.49 a month brings the storage limit to 25 GB.

You can also go up to 100 GB for $4.99 a month. If you want to go all out, you can even sign up for 1 TB of storage space. However, that will set you back $49.99 a month. Any time you buy extra space on Google Drive, your Gmail space will also increase to 25 GB.

Google Docs has been integrated into Google Drive, where users can collaborate on documents inside the cloud drive. Google states, "Once you choose to share content with others, you can add and reply to comments on anything (PDF, image, video file, etc.) and receive notifications when other people comment on shared items."

Google has also released a Google Drive app for Android-based smartphones and tablets and the company says it is working on an iOS app as well (sorry, no word on a Windows Phone app).  Google Drive also has extensive search features and can even search for words inside a scanned image of a document, such as an old newspaper clipping. It adds:

Please note, if you are on the old google storage plans, you can retain those. I paid $5/yr for 20GB of storage. Needless to say, I get to keep it as long as my card remains active :)

"GDrive" is Google's version, to be announced any day now. I love all this storage; the more companies offering free products, the more users can be selective. Go * Microsoft.

* = away

Everyone record this day. These are words that I NEVER thought I would see coming from Zaine's fingers!

+1

No doubt! :)

I think you forgot to read the small print :P.

You had me going there! But, none-the-less, I have a screenshot of Zaine giving praise to Microsoft. HAH!

So, anyone have any recommendations for a solution to this? I would love to see this feature!

Is there a program like this that allows SELECTIVE sync to each PC? Basically, I have certain....risque....bookmarks that should not be on some PCs. This is the sole reason I do not use chrome sync.

Any ideas?

To the last Sugar Puff,

You may see me as a senseless, greedy consumer but let me explain... I know you have just witnessed mass genocide, I have indeed just eaten your entire family. Nonetheless, I fund your cause on a bi-monthly basis, I have donated countless amounts of money and copious amounts of milk to you and your ilk. What you ahven't realzied is if it wasn't for me and my greed of the common sugar puff, your species would cease to exist. I may appear a tyrant, looking for nothing but personal satisfaction, but the true evil here is the one known as the Honey Monster. We both know who he is and what he's done, but if we work together, we can stop his reign of supremacy! It's warm and safe inside my belly, I promise you. I can offer you more than you could ever imagine. The sugar puffs inside me run free in a land of peace and prosperity. It's nothing like the concentration cardboard camp the furred one forced you to reside in. You were enslaved. It's horrrible, but it is the truth.

So now you have heard my words of promise. Join me. Join me in love, join me in hope...Join me in freedom!

And together- we will prevail...

Now stop evading my spoon you worthless piece of wheat!

Hiding in the Higgs data: hints of physics beyond the standard model
Looks like some seriously good science is going on here, demonstrated by the openness to revealing positive results as well as negative results.
It will be interesting to see whether a theoretical model - Standard ("Higgs") or Higgsless - might eventually be supported by the results of this research.

And people called Cave Johnson crazy....Now let's go do some science!

Living Room / Web link snippet manager
« Last post by Josh on April 20, 2012, 09:42 AM »
OK Folks, here is what I need and I know someone out there knows of a solution.

I want a tool that can save urls (right click page, or just click extension button and save link), images, text, etc. for various pages I visit. Right now, I am sending myself emails with various urls I find throughout the day. This is inefficient and causes indexing issues for me. The tool should sync online so I can access these snippets from every browser.

Ideally, this would be a chrome extension so I don't have to install a 3rd party tool.

Does anyone know of an extension like this and if not, what about a lightweight, portable tool that can do the same?

Maybe it is just me, but my PS3 does a great job of that already. Heck, that is the primary purpose of the one in our living room. It streams directly from our media server and various other sources.

I have to ask, do either of you actually USE the Linux option on the PS3? What does it give you or what benefit does it provide? I have never understood the need for this "feature".

Too bad the Linux aspect of that is false.
