« Last post by skrommel on June 20, 2006, 11:03 AM »
:) Yes, FadingTaskbar does support activation when the mouse is over a given region of the screen. Look at the second tab, Activation, in the Settings. To make it work, try unchecking Taskbar transparency when maximized window exist, and also try disabling Windows' taskbar autohiding option.

:) I've been using Registry Key Backup to save my settings.

Just tell it what keys you want backed up, give them a name, add Regsitry Key Backup to your startup folder and add -AUTOBACKUP to the command line, and you'll never lose those settings again!

The only problem is that it isn't listed on www.moonsoftware.com any more, but you can still download it using http://www.moonsoftware.com/files/Registry_Key_Backup_123.zip.

:) Try this one! I haven't tested it in Windows 95, but AutoHotkey supports it, so...

RunSaver - Screensaver that runs a command.

Features:
- None what so ever!

Installation:
Just like any other screensaver, just place it in your Windows-folder, and install and configure it through the Screensaver settings in the Control panel.

You'll find the downloads and more info at 1 Hour Software by Skrommel.

Very basic, it's really just Run,<your command> saved as an .ahk-file, compiled and renamed to .scr.

:tellme: Can you be more precise about what's wrong?

I think what you have to do is create the file c:\program files\IPUpload\ipaddress.txt, and add the text <ipaddress>. This text is automatically exchanged for your ipaddress.

But the simplest solution to your problem is to register your own virtual domain at http://www.no-ip.com. No more IP-addresses to rememeber, just register, download and install their program, and you can acces your computer at treason.no-ip.com.

 :) Hi, TWmailrec!

Try adding SetTitleMatchMode,2 to the start of the script. Without it you can't match other than the start of a window's title.

 :) Try FadingTaskbar v1.4!

Remember to delete your old ini-file!

I've added a new Settings tab with an option to hide the taskbar when inactive, and an activation rectangle.

By checking Hide when inactive, setting Activation rectangle X to ScreenWidth-1 and Width to 1, I think it will finally behave!

Also remember to check the Autohide property in Windows' Taskbar properties.

:tellme: Do you want the actual covers, or is graying/disabling OK? If so I could extend NoClose for this use.

Covers could be needed for non-standard controls, though.

:) How about opening the pdf file twice?

I couldn't get BitmapRipper to work, but Carol Haynes mentioned PDF Explorer from http://homepage.onid.../pdfe/downloads.html, and this on extracts images like a charm. Also, GhostView from http://www.seas.ucla...u/~ee5cta/ghostView/ can convert pdf to jpg or tif, to ease the cutting and pasting.

:) I don't understand why I haven't made this years ago!

LiPs - Bookmarklet that opens all linked movies and pictures on a web page.

Features:
- Autoplays movies in their original size, and centers images.
- Use Tab to skip to the next image, and space to go one screen down.
- Reload the page to autoplay all movies after they have loaded.

Installation:
- Rightclick the (at the moment) very odd looking link at my home page, select Add to Favorites, choose the Links folder. To use it, just go to a web page with links to images or movies, and click the LiPs link on your Links bar.

You'll find the downloads and more info at 1 Hour Software by Skrommel.

I started making a batch downloader for dragging and dropping web urls from your browser, but then I realised it would be much easier to use javascript. But if you want this instead, just let me know.

But there must be some size limitations to Bookmarklets, because I couldn't add the tags to control autoplay, and also there's no support for FireFox. Anyone got any info on this?

:) Try this one!

ZoneSize - Define zones that autosize windows dropped on them.

Features:
- Hold a window over a zone for .5 sec to autosize it.
- Doubleclick the tray icon to center the active window.

It went from a ten-liner to an ugly big mess, so there's probably bugs in there.
