The actual screenshot taken should be an exact copy, but when SC renders the image in its window and has to SCALE it down, it can appear blurry.
So first thing to do is confirm this, by switching to 100% view inside SC window (which will make the capture larger than the window but should confirm that it looks fine).
Then you can go change the scaling algorithm in SC:

Let me know which smoothing option looks least blurry.. Maybe I can make that the default.

This is a great question -- I hope someone has some good answers.  The trick is using a software loopback virtual device.. Some audio drivers come with them.. But their may be some third party free virtual audio devices that can do it.. I'm hoping folks have some suggestions..

Trout request that would be so so useful to me.
Right now you can set the option so Trout auto-pauses playback after some time.. It's a great feature that I use when I go to sleep.
Currently when it auto-pauses it puts in the statusbar something like "Paused after X minutes of being idle".
If that could be amended to say "Paused at 3:31 pm after X minutes of being idle" that would make it super useful to me, as a way of keeping track when I fell asleep..

I've got a proof of concept working with the thing blink, using a simple custom discord bot.. So someone can type a trigger into discord and the bot will start the led blinking, where i can clear it after i check out the issue.

Yep, you can customize this in the "File Naming" options tab:

You can also enable the pop-up post capture dialog if you want to quickly type in a custom filename after each capture.

While SC will not automatically perform updates, it will by default CHECK for updates on startup.  You can disable that by unchecking the last checkbox on the "Startup Options" tab:
