- I'll say you then should remove the old Ashampoo version and maybe reinstall the new version. Of course first check that the Old Version file & key still is available from your Ashampoo account.

All I am saying is, that if he is using Vista there is no use for any third party program. Yes, there are PLENTY of faster and more advanced applications, but he only asked for this one option, date of installation, and nothing more!

- your post is confusing me, *Cat. I assume you have followed the link from the first post and upgraded your version 8 to become a version 9 or 2010 ?

I already have version 9, so I haven't tried this 'trick' the thread here is talking about, but if the installation & registration of the new version 9/2010 went well, you should by now be able to merely download a new free copy from your page at Ashampoo's. Not?

Edited: I was thinking about a repair install on top of the old new file.

I followed the links and have received a full copy of CyberLink PowerDVDDirector 7 Ultra, for FREE! ♥♥ - and the German site's upload speed for the 680 MB was only limited by my download speed, 2.600 KB/sec!! ♥  But then there were the updates... sigh! "error: Please uninstall and reinstall the program"!!! ♠ Edit: and this procedure made me click the wrong button, so now I have lost my (free, no license) PowerDVD!!!  :(

1 TB cannot hold 150 CD/DVD images. Other than that, Vista can do most of it by itself, if you change the standard procedures for your default media player. Take a closer look!

What is the best textual search and replace around?

The best may be Finders Keepers, but I am not too sure that the program hasn't been abandoned. And I find it weird that you have to first trial the program before you can be told what the price is. Also I am concerned that the activation procedure seems to fit a "one machine only"-license.

The program is written by the author of the program "Book Writer".

Nice view, *Cat. Was it taken from your hammock?   8)

There is very little reason for me to show you my desktop; it is nothing but a photo, gaining 15 minutes of fame, and I have no icons or gadgets displaying. So, make your guesses, here is my taskbar!

Why must he install a third-party program? Windows does this as good as anything else; right-click, and make your choice!

And of course anyone would ask why there is no link to this "AV-Test"-company.

WOT is not to be trusted on this for the simple reason that I did not give you the link to "a site" but to the Internet version of an email. WOT doesn't understand this. But I am grateful for the official homepage link that you offered, on which the price is the same.

$50 per year.
Upgrade: $100

Version "2010" better be out-of-this-world fantastic awesome good! Argh, silly me! At this price I won't be using it anyway, so what does it matter to me how incredible expensive it may seem.

..., DivX isn't as important as it was ...

- you can say that again! The embarrassing truth is that I have had no use for DivX PRO at all, since they closed Stage6. Before that, I used DivX from time to time. But after Stage6? Not even once!

They also stopped developing Author "several" (1, 2, many) years ago.

Edit 2: I mean, the stand-alone applications purchased versions.

@ cyberdiva, I don't think you should worry ;-) Though the many "run-once" did not happen to me; I am pretty sure it (also) has to do with the drivers the program must install, in order to handle the audio. If you check your Sound > Play settings, you should notice a new driver, probably named WsAudio Device.
?
Could it be that it was the one and same "run once" file you were allowing over and over, but it was repeatedly rejected by WinPatrol or some other security related program? I would guess so.

General Software Discussion / Re: Special Clipboard
« Last post by Curt on September 18, 2009, 05:51 PM »
ClipMate is really over the edge, for this "little" feature. Far too complex a program.

What if:
1'st copy: Ctrl+WinKey+1, second copy: Ctrl+WinKey+2, third copy: Ctrl+WinKey+3.
Final paste: Ctrl+WinKey+0
After this pasting this clipboard is and should be empty.

Maybe the seperating ",", "-"s could be the little obscure "," on the NumPad?

On my computer, Ctrl+WinKey+NumPad are not hotkeys already taken.

Possible?  :tellme:

I have set Directory Opus to replace windows explorer. When I select any folder from Direct Folders, I jump to it in a new tab in Directory Opus. So it does work.

from their blog:

Direct Folders 3.6
May 4th, 2009

    * Added: Support for Total Commander 7.5 beta.
    * Added: Support for DirectoryOpus.
    * Added: Few display options.
    * Changed: Separate settings for double click and middle button click.

Giveawayoftheday has begun to include Software Informer in their containers. You may know the program; I am not going to tell about it here. But I ran the program, and later on I clicked its floating icon. Immediately this picture displayed itself ALL over my desktop:

1024x1496 pixels, 668KB:

The huge pop-up will show AT ONCE, making it faster to use than many other application launchers. But the program is still very new..., and I don't think this scary sight should be the look of my desktop at any time. Maybe it is something for App103 ?  :P

Edited: The pop-up will also disappear at once  when you click it.

... I've written a program to rule the world.
What's more, it runs with just two key strokes!
Unfortunately, by some oversight, the first one disables the keyboard.
