How It Works

It hasn’t been a secret that a long term family illness encouraged my search for someone who not only understood WinPatrol but would love and care for Scotty . I had some tempting offers but they included a future without our pledge of a lifetime PLUS membership. Even worse, many respected companies thought WinPatrol would be an easy way to install unwanted toolbars and search hijackers. Most of you know how I feel about toolbars.

So technically if this is the case then shouldn't it be rightful to sue Microsoft and others OS makers for making OS's which can run programs that can download illegal content? After all it is happening within software they created...

On June 19, Microsoft filed for an ex parte temporary restraining order (TRO) from the U.S. District Court for Nevada against No-IP. On June 26, the court granted our request and made Microsoft the DNS authority for the company’s 23 free No-IP domains, allowing us to identify and route all known bad traffic to the Microsoft sinkhole and classify the identified threats. The new threat information will be added to Microsoft’s Cyber Threat Intelligence Program (CTIP) and provided to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and global Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to help repair the damage caused by Bladabindi-Jenxcus and other types of malware.

Hm... There is sort of a president for this in regard to domain squatting fore the sole purpose of extortion IIRC. I actually looked into it once because of the TClock.com domain being registered (for 10 years out) but never used for anything. Actually, I'm amazed governments weren't in on this from day one. What an ideal way to fund covert activities and black ops. Or handlebribescampaign contributions. They've turned a blind eye toward (or at the very least tolerated) numbered Swiss bank accounts, numerous Istituto per le Opere di Religione shenanigans, and offshore banks for that very reason. So much easier to transact with than blood diamonds too.

Just from reading the clip in the link I have the suspicion that this is yet another example of "event A occurred before Event B, therefor A is the cause of B." Do the implementers of the study have an way to know how the lab rats get all their news? Like if lab rat "Killer Joe" also reads NYT hard copy or subscribes to KKK Weekly?
