would I be right in assuming that would kill all your plugins?

Kill is not good word here: TC simply closes handles to used DLLs but all of them can be back again if you want to (without the need for restarting application). IIRC it just calls for FreeLibrary(HMODULE hModule) on each working plugin.

2Target
There is TC command witch can be used (from button): cm_UnloadPlugins.
Although I am sure there was a shortcut for that within plugin too. I just don't remember.

Nice to hear it works.

BTW You can add your own button to call it. Just type cd \\\TotalConsole in button's Command field.
454
@kartal
All I do is:
1. Configuration -> Operation -> Plugins -> Filesystem plugins
2. click on Configure and add downloaded (and unpacked) plugin,
3. go to Network Neighbourhood (using Alt+F2),
4. hit Enter on Total Console item
5. when new buttons bar is added at the bottom of TC click on "New console" button and have something like:

console.PNG

6. that's all.
455
@kartal
Am I right to assume that you've tried TC plugins like:
http://en.totalcmd.p...wfx/Oth/TotalConsole

It gives additional "panel" in TC with console window.

Did you try Process Explorer?

On my PC it shows all processes' icons and works for "trayed" applications too.

I also do not believe it is impossible in TC. There are few filesystem plugins for that but they all have some disadvantages.

As for branch view and search results we should remember that while they look like virtual filesystems, they are not. Presented files are interpreted like in standard view. All operations work on real files, no matter how it is shown.

For virtual files/folders there would be special need for additional set of methods for almost all existing ones or to make them all different. Without that, deleting file from virtual filesystem would delete the real one. It is problematic because there seem to be only "one per type" methods (one delete, one pack, etc.) but virtual systems need to operate on both: links and real resources.

As for me: I can disable this service but only temporary.

Removing Protexis files from system32 folder makes PSP call "repair tool". Letting them stay there enables service after a while. I did not figure out what is the cause. Either PSP checks randomly its existence or there is something truly hidden on system startup. I don't know yet.

After watching winning entries I must say: there must something wrong with me because almost never I have more than 10 tabs opened.

Some contestant told that tabs are not usable when there are 50 or 100 of them. Come on! 50 tabs does not mean "tabs are the problem" it means "people are". What is the reason of having so many opened pages? What are bookmarks for?

I understand that during some hard work someone might have more than 10 tabs but 100? Can anyone explain what is the reason of getting it so messed up?

P.S. I think same guy reinvented the wheel. He made a presentation of tabs panel with live filter which behaves almost the same way like Opera's bookmarks do. BUT since Opera sucks in advertising I am sure that Mozilla can take it, implement it and make it known as theirs ;)

I am sorry but your links miss the point.

The question is: how to remove Protexis and still have valid PSP installation but most of the answers given on Corel's board end up with running this service again.

I don't know how does it work for the other guys but for me nothing from Google works. PSP repairs itself (starts installer) after deleting Protexis DLLs. They are simply recreated and service is alive again.

Nice article but nothing new :p

Seriously: any "metal connector" can be used to get your data, with no difference is it a power cord or heater pipes. There is only the question: is it cheaper than using a crowbar on user? ;)

BTW I remember reading once that some guys retrieved screen data using telescope pointed at screen's light reflection from the wall on the opposite side of the room. That is something to think about.

You've definitely missed most important changes: big speed improvement, alternative parsing engine, snippets and own Open/Save dialogues. There are also Find/Replace and Undo/Redo (set in INI) features.

If still concerned, and you would like to use the software, you could ask the developers to put this as an addendum on their website and/or the actual EULA.  That should be sufficient.
-Steven Avery (July 12, 2009, 07:33 PM)
I've tried to contact with them by email but I have automatic responses only. All in French but as far as I understood they contain an information that I should go to FAQ page and find any details there. Unfortunately, addresses mentioned on their website brings me back to nothing.

Of course, I could try to call them but… come on! Writing big software, having few websites and no valid e-mail?

I believe your words but I would rather wait for some changes before I "Accept". Current state of their licence stops me from doing that. Words from one of the developers mean nothing as long as it's not written in agreement. I can't automatically trust someone I don't know. I can't sign papers if they are saying something different from my point of view.

I consider as "profit generating activity" any forum board with commercial software behind. Someone vicious may say that even DonationCoder can be labelled as such.

I can't use it to gather my ideas before writing software to be put here because there is always the risk of getting few credits ;)

Some rules can be interpreted differently. I am not a lawyer but I think I could find something against contributing here… if I were evil.

P.S. After few thoughts I also think that with current licence it can only be used for playing or the support of completely free stuff.
Let's assume I'd like to buy it for my company in the future. The bad thing is: I can't even check it without violating licence. In many cases "software evaluation" is the part of the business related to money too. If searching for the best solution for getting the profit can be seen as "generating..." then here we are again. Never-ending story.

The simplest method I know is to use CSVed application from:
http://csved.sjfrancke.nl/

Unfortunately, it has limited "templates" functionality (each line represents one row) so it might not suit you.

Docstoc.com is now promoting ads that to include in your public docs, and pays you for clicks on them. so if I made a doc with Creative, I could not use it for that. This is one example. Or doing a presentation at work with it.
As TC geek I thought about using it to write few ideas down but it would violate agreement 'cause Ghisler can always make some $ from that ;)

Are you asking "why"?

It is obvious for me: play with it while it's in development stage and pay for it later.

Not a good choice. Licence forbids you from distributing your work if there is any risk that it can make profit to anyone.
That is the sole reason why I did not install it.

According to their descriptions this might be great utility but licence really stinks for me.
