a video of The One Armed Man(tm) tying knots might be interesting
It seems armless enough to me.

Until I saw the puns I feared this thread would be for naught.

Puns, what puns? This may come as noose to you but according to the panel you made a slip.

Nice! I was just thinking recently that it would be nice to learn a few basic knots.
Why knot ?

You never know, it could be station drift, or maybe he's been switched to another frequency, or fallen foul of one of those Russian jamming signals, or gone thetan, or something.
There's a whole spectrum of possibilities for us to meditate upon.
Might even have turned turtle.

My usually reliable esata connection for external drives started not working, as in, the drive wasn't being detected at all.
FWIW, when that happened to me I found that Windows updates had changed the driver. If you google around some, and if that's your problem, you'll find the steps to fix it. Those steps were a bit more convoluted than I'd have expected but I fixed the problem on two different machines. Looking back, quickly, I see that it was related to "JMB36X_WinDrv_R1.17.65_WHQL_eSATA.zip". HTH

You get an error that Macrium cannot create snapshot.
I had that a couple of/few years back. At the time the current Norton Ghost was still on the machine. Macrium cleared it up quite quickly.

There's a literalist in every crowd.  When another drinker challenged the guy to go toe to toe he put his foot in his mouth I'd say.
What a heel!

While for the most part I stick with my now 0 nicotine eCig, I do still occasionally (at the end of ruff days...) sneak out for one of the wife's cigarettes. At which point the absolute last thing I want to even see is anything electronic...unless we're about to play how high will this MF'er bounce.. :D
-Stoic Joker (May 05, 2015, 06:51 AM)
Pardon me for saying so but I think you may have the wrong idea. Aren't your wife's cigarettes meant to get you high, not elevate the device?

5 1/4" floppy sounds much easier than trying that surgery on a 3.5" plastic jobber.

I don't like to boast but mine was 8"  :-[

Fantastic, over $15,000

Where else but here could that have happened? This is a strong community.

Now, I'm about to ask the government to increase my pension by 50%

Hey, the thermometer was at $14993 and I donated $7, but now it's only $14999! I forgot to take the paypal cut into account... :-(
Bad luck, it would have been an extra-good feeling to have been the $15k man. Never mind, I bet your donation will cause someone else to have a go.

Seriously, I'd leave it alone. What about all the existing reviews and so on? Are you going to append to any new name "was Clipboard Help + Spell"?

  • Changing oil
  • Changing the brake pads and rotors
  • Flushing tranmsission fluid
  • Flushing coolant
  • Flushing Transfer case and rear differential fluid
  • Flushing brake fluid
  • Flushing power steering fluid
  • Replacing spark plugs
  • Rotating tires
And if you can't get something wrong in that lot you ought to be doing your own maintenance

That long-distance transfer stuff is really handy!   ;)

This is a huge and well-deserved vote of confidence in mouser, and in the community that he has fostered.

I think we're going for a record in generosity here, let's keep it up!

If all of us who gave already now added another dollar or two to the kitty… we'd have a really fat cat.

Now I just need to create a legend which monkey signifies which software.
If you use three you'll be completely free from evil. Also, since you'll be blind, deaf, and dumb you can sell off that laptop and relax.

Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Macrium Reflect 6 News
« Last post by cranioscopical on April 17, 2015, 11:45 AM »
I've been dithering about upgrading since January. I have two Pro licenses for version 5.x and am debating whether or not the upgrade is worth it? The few reviews that I've read on line seem to imply that there isn't much to be gained from upgrading 5->6 beyond faster startup times. Can anyone who's tried both comment?

Enquiring minds want to know. I want to know.

Incremental backups are available.
It's slightly easier to script for it (VBS, PowerShell, and MS-DOS).
Under the right circumstances restore can be a LOT faster.

I was on the fence about upping 4 Pro v.5 licences but decided to do it as any quirks that might arise from the final W10 will be covered by no-cost updates to 6.

5 would still be good enough—it's always worked for me.

I can verify that 6 works just fine as I recently decided that the way around a particular issue was simply to restore a 2-day-old backup.

Yeah, that's handy

Hmmm.. is putting USD before the number very common in the US or other countries?

It's not uncommon in Canada.

''There are various common abbreviations to distinguish the Canadian dollar from others: while the ISO currency code CAD (a three-character code without monetary symbols) is common, no single system is universally accepted. C$ is recommended by the Canadian government (e.g., per The Canadian Style guide) and is used by the International Monetary Fund, while Editing Canadian English indicates Can$ and CDN$; both guides note the ISO scheme/code. The abbreviation CA$ is also used, e.g., in some software packages.''

Your problem is solved; ask nicely and he can give you a house! He'll feel better and you'll have done him a favour.

I'm afraid he'll insist I learn to flip it.  Anything larger than a one bedroom condo I'd probably throw my back out.  :)

It's a tricky move; you have to know when to re-lease it.
