Ok I think i've implemented this -- I'll post a beta link soon.

Great (I was thinking of bumping this the other day) - am i too late :-*

I'm not fussy anyway -
it's the fact that I either forget, and end up at the top of the list - or I remember, and have to use the mouse to activate the next image. I think any solution will help me avoid both of these scenarios

Living Room / Re: German Government Warns Key Entities Not To Use Windows 8
« Last post by tomos on August 23, 2013, 03:58 PM »
I had another look at the Zeit article and went to the source link they give (from the BSI= German Department for Security etc.):

https://www.bsi.bund...6907EA4F378.2_cid359

My "officous" German isn't that great, but I can tell you that it talks about the dangers of:
-
certain scenarios where, due to "unintended flaws" [unbeabsichtigte Fehler] of the OS and the hardware, the OS may no longer work properly. These can even lead to permanent hardware failure.
-
=> On top of that, the new mechanism/structure could be used by third parties for sabotage.
[Darüber hinaus können die neu eingesetzten Mechanismen auch für Sabotageakte Dritter genutzt werden.]

From that page, there's a link to a PDF - a "Eckpunktepapier" (Benchmark paper?)
http://www.bmi.bund....blob=publicationFile
dated "August 2012".

It seems to be a combination of summarising TPM and how it works: saying what they would expect (in tenders I guess) of it (interopability with other systems, etc.); warning about it's possible dangers; asking people to continue research into it.

There is one line stood out for me - under heading #17 Datenschutz (Data protection):
saying basically that you've got to weigh up the choices/interests before choosing TCP - in the context of data-protection.

This is just too damn good. I debated putting it in its own thread, but, well, it's here:

Fuck Copyright

Enjoy! And feel free to copy it if you like. ;)

There's some really good ones there.

Too bad the "license" is a little strange. I'm sure someone would make a ruckus about it. : (

^huh? what license? [edit] or am I being slow - and you just being silly there !?! [/edit]

I suspect that *is* a topic that requires a separate thread though ... any moderater willing/able to split it (or think that a good idea?)

Used this for a small group of images (20): hand held camera, lots of notes in the margin. Not really what it was designed for I think, but it worked quite well. Thanks!

That'll be a big boost for the other options. I see in the Zeit article, they say that Munich municipal administration is completing a move to Linux.

I was looking up my German/English dictionary lately, and noticed this page header - seems appropriate here:

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: quick-paste favorites: how to show more than one?
« Last post by tomos on August 22, 2013, 04:16 AM »
Actually now that i see your question.. i haven't tried showing favorites on root of quick paste menu so i have to go check that out and see how it interacts with the other quick paste options.
you do have it,in the quick paste menu #2 area.  but when you choose root, only one favorite item will show.

same here
-
IIRC I did have the favourites on the main menu for a short while a year or two ago - so it worked at one stage.

^well I rarely search, but when I need to, I use XYplorer - so I tried that - did a search for "ClipboardHelpAndSpell.ini" on C:
I didnt find it but got this odd message:

Screenshot - 2013-08-22 , 00_11_11.png

but not feeling dedicated enough to follow up on the mysterious "41 items are hidden" ... :-\ :)

edit/ - configdir.ini is the only ini file in the install folder.

@tomos:
I have an INI file, but, I'm running CHS as portable, and as you'd expect it's in the same directory as the .EXE.  Are you getting caught out by the Virtual Store or something?

hi rj, in the installed version, there's only a "ConfigDir.ini" file in install folder.
I had a look under users but couldnt find anything relevant - but when just having a look, user folders are always a bit of a lottery (/nightmare) I find - too many options/directories.

I don't think there is a "Reset to Defaults," but it might be a good idea if there were.  Mouser?

I thought there might be an ini file that could be deleted - but if so, I couldnt find it. Mouser ? :)

She's actually got quite a few covers on that album.

I guess that's a tip (maybe it *has* to be from that album?) - here for anyone willing to give it a go:

    "Diamonds & Rust" (Joan Baez)
    "Fountain of Sorrow" (Jackson Browne)
"Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer" (Stevie Wonder, Syreeta Wright)
"Children and All That Jazz" (Joan Baez)
"Simple Twist of Fate" (Bob Dylan)
    "Blue Sky" (Dickey Betts)
    "Hello in There" (John Prine)
    "Jesse" (Janis Ian)
"Winds of the Old Days" (Joan Baez)
"Dida" (Joan Baez) – duet with Joni Mitchell
Medley: "I Dream of Jeannie" (Stephen Foster) / "Danny Boy"[4] (Frederick Weatherly)

I'm not so smart as y'all. I don't get the riddle. :  (

I know next to nothing about Slayer, but figured it out from this line:
Best Judas Priest song = Diamonds & Rust

Diamonds & Rust is a Joan Baez song.
So I presumed that "Dissident Aggressor" is a Judas Priest song.
So the challenge (from a musical POV) is to find a cover that Baez sang well, the author of same song having in turn sang a cover, who's author sang a cover, who's author sang a cover, ad infinitum. But I'm not a big fan of Baez, so there it lies. 40hz would be the man for this, he seems to be a walking encyclopedia about music - and everything else too when I think about it :-)

a Dylan song maybe?
but again not sure off-hand of a followup line...

"Paste last clip as plaintext" :D

tried that, regretfully CHS crashes.
regretfully.
=

Easiest would be then if mouser could fix that.
Can you give details - what's your OS, etc.?

I tried it here (win7 64bit) and it mostly works.
In Wordpad it works as expected.
In a html pane (in InfoQube's web-forum) it works as expected.
In Textmaker wordprocessor (Softmaker), it strips italic and bold - but *not* underline. (Using Quickpaste has the same problem in Textmaker.)

@ dcwul62 -
did you also try mouser's suggestion?

if you use Ctrl+V you will get the normal formatting since you are using the windows clipboard, but if you use the quick-paste menu, EVEN IF ITS THE FIRST ITEM, it would strip formatting.

Best Slayer song = Dissident Aggressor
Best Judas Priest song = Diamonds & Rust
<fill in this line>

there's probably a few options here, and to be honest I'm not sure of the (possible) track for the follow-up line:

Best Joan Baez song = The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down

It's more like a thread for interesting "stuff" (?)

.
... the INTERESTING thread

CHS always remembers the formatting from the last clip. The only way I know of to strip the formatting, is to copy more text (i.e. after you've copied the text you want) - the text you want to paste will now be in second place in the list - when you paste this it will not be formatted.

is this true?

... eh...    no :-[

i thought the way it worked was that if you use Ctrl+V you will get the normal formatting since you are using the windows clipboard, but if you use the quick-paste menu, EVEN IF ITS THE FIRST ITEM, it would strip formatting.  no?

Dunno why I never noticed that with my very roundabout 'workaround'  ;D

it may also be useful in cancer prevention. At least one current patent covers this potential use.

Sorry for veering off-topic, but: can simply a use of something natural, ['potential' or not], be patented? Of course, in fairness, it could be much more complicated than just take-three-times-a-day...
4498
Vainly tried to get the same window as above. Q: How to get this?

it's the "Quick-paste" menu. I'm not sure what the default shortcut is - have a look in preferences:

Screenshot - 2013-08-15 , 15_40_20.png

and look what else is on offer there!!
"Paste last clip as plaintext" :D
4499
Well, it certainly can be done as an add-on. Evernote used have one (maybe still do). I currently use an InfoQube addon to save emails to an InfoQube folder (but it's not customisable, sorry!)
