i think you could remove Reviews and Donate links from quicklinks.
and some of those forum feeds are unneeded, im sure we could think of the top 10 forum board feeds that would be useful to have to keep things simple and uncluttered.

I've added a download link in the first post to an official early testers alpha version.

With my latest code to preserve edit dialogs on rotate, my biggest concerns is that i may have overlooked something that could cause the app to crash in odd circumstances, so I'd love to hear any reports of people seeing it crash.

changing the options wont change past history text, only the dates shown on the live items (and possibly subsequent date history entries, not sure about that).

General Software Discussion / Re: the bat! view email as html
« Last post by mouser on September 11, 2016, 03:48 PM »
it looks like thebat is being confused by this email..
in my version of thebat, when i have the plaintext viewer configured as my default, the tabs at the bottom are "Text" (like yours) and "HTML" which will render it like your outlook view.

the fact that you are seeing a tab for "message.html" suggests to me that the html version of the message is being seen by the bat as like an attachment.  again im not sure, just sounds that way.

alternatively, have you tried the settings in the tab "Viewer/Editor -> HTML Viewer" and try changing the html viewer used on that tab?

(1) When one edits an entry, one finds the dates presented in US format.  I would much prefer them to be in ISO format, that being the clearest, least ambiguous, and most suited to a program that may be used internationally.
(2) It's possible to edit a date and time manually - and the field accepts any old garbage, there doesn't seem to be any error-trapping.  You also allow use of the standard Android date-picker.  Is there any reason not to make that mandatory, i.e., remove manual editing?  If you do that, for consistency there would have to be a time-picker as well.

1: in the advanced options you can change the format of the displayed date and time to make it how you want it.

2: this is trickier.. right now the date history is basically free form multi-line text where no formatting is enforced.  i choose that for simplicity.  but perhaps ideally it would enforce a specific strict list format.

Update coming soon.
I've fixed something that's been bothering me for a while -- if you rotated screen while editing an item the edit dialog would disappear (Android is insane when it comes to what happens to an app when user rotates screen -- it basically kills and restarts your app and you have to go through real hoops to resume where user was when they rotated).

Any other requests?

My main concern with this little app is that it's built on top of a much more powerful and general purpose framework i wrote (which i really need to figure out more uses for), and some of the features of that framework may over-complicate this app's use for simple things.  Just as an example, the app wants you to hit the + button to add each item (person's name), and then individually delete each item when you no longer want it, etc.

Those features are useful for some things, but can be burdensome for quick simple things.

It's clear i'm going to have to add some special features to make it quicker to do things like delete all items and start a new "set" of items quickly.

Good idea regarding keep screen on, i think i can add an option to do that.

Sorting.. It's an interesting idea, but somewhat problematic -- mainly because the framework allows you to drag and drop to reorder items and assumes you will want to customize the order of things.  I'll give it some thought..  I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to add a sort toolbar menu and let user choose between score and name..

This is an Android app based on the framework I used in my WhenLast android app.

It lets you create a list of "items" (events or players), and then easily tap to increase/decrease the counter for that item.  It can be used to keep track of scores for a board game, or easily count events over a longer period of time.

Obviously there are similar apps already -- this one will benefit from some of the features of my existing framework (ability to sync items over multiple devices, organization of multiple lists by tabs, etc.).

Post New Requests Here / Re: Program to send Windows + Right (or Left) Arrow ?

What you are asking should be easy, and one of the autohotkey (ahk) coders who hang out here should be able to code it pretty easily.

However let me suggest a small tweak -- instead of a shortcut to trigger the double click, a better solution might be something that converted another keypress into your desired keypress.  i.e. let you use F9 and F10 for win+left and win+right.
There might be several advantages to that: First, would be quicker to trigger.  Second, it would not involve leaving the focus of the current program, which could otherwise make this process more difficult.

There was formerly some place on your profile where you can easily get registration keys.

It's not in your profile, it's just the normal License Key page on the site -- if you are signed into the forum and it knows you are a supporting member it will give you your license key.

That page is here: https://www.donationcoder.com/Keys

I guess I should add a link to that page from the profile menu somewhere.
