Yes, it probably can,  I just did not know where to best post it.  I figured someone would be kind enough to let me know so I appreciate that.  Should it be left in General software or am I still in the wrong place ?  Thanks

hi questerflora - a moderator can remove this one - the other one is fine I'm sure (it's just that two threads with the same request can cause confusion)

I'll just give the link for the other one again - please post there if you want to reply to OP

Finding the book at smashwords was problematic:

For the next 72 hours, Kyathaba Rising is a free download using coupon code CK42D at checkout on Smashwords.com; I request your review of the novel on Amazon, Smashwords and Goodreads. Thanks!

Name is mispelled above - I note this because I copied/pasted to find book in smashwords.com**
but then I got the correct name and still no joy:

Searching for: Kyrathaba Rising
The adult filter is active; content marked as adults-only by the author is not listed.
Full Search
Found: 0 results
No books match your query.
(You are filtering out adult content.)
http://www.smashword...ery=Kyrathaba+Rising
I presume it's not because of the adult filter?

** I found the correct name of the book, and a link, via the link at the bottom of your recommended books page (why not have a link on the right there where it would be easy to find on any page?)

^it's amazing the number of people who use words without really thinking - what does this mean exactly (or even roughly). Or write articles without defining terms.
example
a prize example being the word 'spirituality'. Related Wikipedia page starts "The term spirituality lacks a definitive definition ..."; yet, it is very commonly used without any attempt at definition. (It's not an on-topic word for dc, hence the spoilers.)

I realized a problem with these speakers: They won't work well for helping my tablet's speakers when watching a movie or videos because the sound is slightly delayed.

I'm presuming you can connect one directly, but wondering:
When you have two of them playing stereo, can you connect them up directly (to the one socket)?

Loads of goodies here today:

that mini grinder might be a good introduction to coffee grinding mouser - could it also be used for expresso coffee, or would one have to get - never mind, I see from the amazon reviews that it can do different 'grades' so would be suitable

==========

And those mini-speakers look very interesting Deozaan
These Jam Plus speakers are surprisingly good, considering how small they are. I can feel the bass when I hold them in my hand. :Thmbsup

http://www.hmdxaudio...uetooth-speaker.html
they're only 2.5" (65mm) tall :tellme:
I was looking-at/listening-to a cube speaker at a friends a while back. I was amazed by the sound coming out of the thing. It was around 3.5" cubed. (I'll have to get onto to them and ask about the brand/model - I see lots of that type of speaker on sale). It did have the advantage** that one could put a mini SD card in it - it would then just shuffle or play random tracks though.

** advantage to me at any rate: I'm not a smartphone user and never use portable music players - I get 'ear clausterphobia' when wearing earphones for any length of time.

Anyway, I don't think that you need pro version to change which pages you want to work with - just double click on the pages in the right column.

well, I'm glad you told me that - I was just going to report that you couldn't select pages to use with the pro version either...

^thanks for that tip Attronarch

There is now a pro version ($3.99 ) - it looks like you need the pro version if you want to select just part if the PDF's.
Strangely, they partially hide what the pro version does (see below) - and dont seem to do any straight-forward comparision on the site, but Pro obviously includes Rotate/Watermark/Secure (and I *think* selecting pages from PDF).

Besides the audio detector, any metal detector for sale?

you have a very odd metal detector bias in your posts DarbyGloss.
Not sure if you're just being witty, or if you're going to start trying to sell us metal detectors soon ;)

I know and use, but is linear interactive. You can merge , you can split. If not so easy.

moar details! :P
What do you mean by linear?
I find it works very quickly, but you need to know what pages of the document you want. No preview. Otherwise very good and effective.
Also, you can change the sort order of documents.

Living Room / Re: Anyone from German, I have a question for you.

The article is on a Hong Kong newspaper, talk about how harmful pre-school education can be. It starts by stating Germany law prohibit pre-school education and how successful Germany is, in producing talents etc. Sort of by forcing kids to memorize a lot of things in pre-school education we will destroy their creativity and analytic mind.

I've heard that idea here as well. It makes sense to me on a 'common sense' level.
Has it had anything to do with Germany's success?
Who knows... in a 2009 report, the schools here rated poorly in comparision with other European schools (PISA report).
In many areas, there are shortages of highly-qualified people here - this has a lot to do with the low birthrate though.

I was looking for conversion programmes today (for ESRI files). I only found one - it doesn't even do what you want Contro - but it converts 342 different filetypes. They (or their suppliers) dont even list a price - so I know it's out of my league.... (FWIW http://www.safe.com/fme/format-search/#!)

In my vice for software I had downloaded a gDoc Fusion trial some time ago. [...]
Now I observ in the web they have derived to even more powerful software.

I haven't seen it in a more 'powerful' version anywhere - their 'Binder' software is maybe like a dumbed down version.
Maybe it was just too buggy to maintain.

can you explain why? (according to the article)

I'm not from here, but I live here. I can tell you:
the normal school-going age is between 6 and 7 years old. It would be unusual for a child to start school at 7 years of age.
I dont know if starting school at a younger age is allowed or not. Probably not - otherwise the ages of the kids would be very varied.

Of course, the norm is to go to kindergarten for years before that.
