I think we have a serious scale issue going on here, between black and white/all or none assertion.
^
I'd agree.

Have we really sunk to the point where Orwellian monitoring of our children is considered proper? Instead of taking the time to build a rapport of respect and trust with them??!?
-
I have mixed feelings about this whole issue - but in fairness SJ, monitoring does *not* exclude "taking the time to build a rapport of respect and trust with them".
I think if your kids dont talk to you about things that they see/experience that they might find uncomfortable or worse, you're both in trouble anyway, monitoring or no :-(

I made it primarily as an "out of box solution" which can be combined perfectly with the Windows 7 built in Aero Snap. It extends the built in Windows 7 Aero Snap functions.
(Since v1.3.2 it works very well for XP and Vista too)

hi Helloall,
could you elaborate a little on what this one does - or on how it is different from the regular Gridmove ?
thanks, Tom

Find And Run Robot / Re: Heuristic Scoring for previous search term.

See where the pointer is below - each item in the list has a score

Screenshot - 2013-10-03 , 20_04_06.png

Right-click your item and select "Add scoring rule..."

Screenshot - 2013-10-03 , 20_03_59.png

Add a couple of hundred as appropriate to the score field

Screenshot - 2013-10-03 , 20_04_23.png

tbh I'm not 100% sure how the scoring rule works,
but the above should help you sort out the problem

Teaser: Prohibition is the Morally Reprehensible Part, Not Buying and Selling Drugs

I'm almost suprised that I more or less agree with you & the author here. (Well, 'morally' has nothing to do with it for me.)

I know that the huge majority of people dont want to try heroin/or-whatever-very-addictive-drug-is-on-offer. But also that the people that do use these drugs, are the people that contribute a huge amount to 'everyday' crime levels.

Okay, so let's say we just legalise everything. Should we allow advertising then? You know how our world works....
I dunno, I was just following the idea a little - maybe the question is a bit like - who will build the roads? - but related to regulation. Refer me to a thread explaining anarchy if appropriate ;-)

There is no reason to vote for a feature already being default, I would say; it is not even possible to save a picture other than "Save as..."
 ;)

odd request then :tellme: ;D
I've downloaded today, but have not tried the software myself yet.

Went to this crowd lately, hardly having heard any of their music - actually I heard this track once before the gig, and then during the gig - it's been stuck in my head/ear since.
So, a nice mellow ohrworm :)

« Last post by tomos on October 01, 2013, 05:38 PM »
That's odd, that Photoshop has different colour values to other apps - who's at fault there?
And which colour value is *actually* correct?

edit// maybe this is the answer:
BPC and rendering intent change color values too. So to get the same color values as photoshop, it needs to be exported from it.

A crow and a dog and a pingpong ball...

the crow comes when called (towards middle of video).
The story of the crow is in the "About":

MAY 2012..ok...a lot of questions...here are some answers :
the wings are NOT cliped (see that in "tin can, i love you").....i did not trained the crow, i just found it near the woods as a very little bird and no parents seen for over 1 hour...
told the dog (yes, she is old but NOT fat...its a lot of hair...) that we have a new friend...showed it how to fly (no, i did NOT run over the grass flapping with my arms...) wenn it could fly, it was gone for a wile, but then cam back nearly every day for playing and asking for food..(sometimes it brought stolen things from the neighbors and i had to bring it back ;-)
and YES, i am a bad@ss ;-)

Any other problems Google should be addressing?

I dont know because I went back to the old version...
I was excited about trying the new version, but got *so* frustrated with it that I left it (and didnt keep track of my complaints). In fairness that was a while ago now (a few weeks at least).
I guess I should try it again and see how I get on - but you're not inspiring me ;D

No answers, just noting: on my machine (i5) it uses a fairly steady 0.16-0.19 when in the tray, and goes briefly up to almost 20% after taking a screenshot.

Maybe it's the Quick Capture bar? hmmm - does makes a little difference - down to .14-.16

consistent with the post-medieval/pre-modern usage of the archaic 'long s'w.

I guess that would be related to the German "scharfes S" (= "ß" ~ "ss"/"sz").
Screenshot - 2013-09-29 , 18_03_38.png
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%9F
Even though long s has otherwise disappeared from German orthography, ß is still used as a ligature and is replaced by 'SS' or 'SZ' in capitalized spelling. Its German name is Eszett, the lexicalized expression for "sz", from "es-zed") or scharfes S, "sharp S").
-
seems to indicate that it co-existed with the "long s"...

I've a spelling-nazi streak in me that would have been driven to fits...
-
and here I thought all along that you were this real chilled out kind of guy ;-) :p

Picard has a reason to live on my hard disk as it can find tags by checking the fingerprint
like Tuxman I keep MusicBrainz Picard around for its fingerprint capabilities.

I was going to ask what this meant, but I found this in the documentation:

Scanning (fingerprinting) files

Instead of using release-oriented and metadata-dependent lookups, Picard can try and tag your files 1-by-1 based on their audio fingerprint. If you select a set of files in the left-hand pane and click "Scan", Picard will find PUIDs for your files and query MusicBrainz to find a track that matches them.

1) so IIUC, that's mainly used to identify unknown tracks?
2) Can it be used to identify similar tracks?

Depending on available time, I figure it might be a fun little NANY project for me to do a mini-search program. I need it anyways, so might as well. It's also a nice kind of project as I can GPL it or WTFPL it as I won't need to use any proprietary components like I've had to do for some other stuff.

could this tie in with the SC viewer idea?

is that like "just" projections on a screen? Like a *very* updated version of an old fashioned slide-projecter :)
I've seen stuff like this (on film) projected on buildings and was totally gobsmacked, but this one is just *so* sophistacted...
