Thanks lanux128. Already renamed the file to .bak. See if I manage to find out which program created the file.

it's only 5 bytes big?  seems like it might be a copy protection data file masquerading as a dll -- i.e. a program you installed might have created it to keep track of when the trial period started, etc.

Thanks mouser, that might be it but how could I tell to which program it belongs (and wtf it is cluttering system32 folder  >:(

Thanks Curt and mouser, I have already tried that...  >:(

It's listed as a hidden system file but when I try to rip the .dll I get "file is not EXE or DLL" message. I opened it with notepad but all I could see is some strange characters *qò and it's only 5 bytes in size.

I attach the file. Maybe someone could tell what it is.

I have no idea why the name change... all I could find is an incomplete list of the differences between JkDefrag and MyDefrag. See http://www.kessels.c...12.msg11051#msg11051

What I would like to know, mouser man, is what makes you go searching for this stuff on the net? Shouldn't you work on your phd instead? :D

Please help identify afaf1_s.dll (in \WINDOWS\system32\ folder) and what it does. Google search yields nothing.

Are you going to add "duplicate to" functionality? Would like that very much.

how would that be implemented - alternative hotkeys? (I asked this elsewhere in the thread)

A different hotkey combination to access this functionality would do.

Quite a long article....Comodo PR guys demanded Softpedia to remove the identification on Comodo Internet Security (CIS) as "adware".  Softpedia reviewed again the EULA of CIS and continued to mark CIS as adware due to... you guess... changes on search and home pages on user's machine and for inclusion of SafeSurf (Ask toolbar). Do you see two porpoises?

I amended the top of the script to included the new window class, but forgot about the hotkeys
-Target
Seems to be going nicely now.

I wonder if this one will work for PhilB66.
-cranioscopical (April 23, 2009, 11:13 PM)

Yep, it does (except for the Win + V hotkey)

What OS?  I assume it's Vista

XP Pro SP2

Also, could you add a "Duplicate to" feature (similar to "Copy to" and "Move to" functionality)?

I knew someone was going to ask for this...

I suppose I could, but how would you access this functionality? maybe different hotkeys, eg WIN+SHIFT+V to copy, WIN+CTRL+V to move...

No luck sofar with the Win+V combination... so maybe a different hotkey combination for this functionality (Alt + V works just fine to paste a duplicated file in the source folder).

It's just a skinable, onscreen volume controller (OSD), as well as ejector.

Yes, it does, but what if I want several duplicates? Is it possible to both stamp and number the files?

Date - Time??
-Perry Mowbray (April 17, 2009, 01:55 AM)

Yes, that would be great. Also, could you add a path to icon in the script so I could add an icon and compile it.
