I've had to withdraw the SandboxIE offer  :(

Long story... won't go into it now, but just a misunderstanding about what was on offer  :-[

OK that's weird Darwin... Maybe it stems from the same issue that caused my work's antivirus to complain  :-\  I'd say so... Shame: I'd got quite used to the application and it's got quite a few bells and whistles.

I was using NexusFile at work but the antivirus started complaining about it, so I'm giving Cubic Explorer a spin: I'm trying to get used to a single pane in multiple tabs...

I hate to say this CyberEvil, but I replaced my TimeZone directory with yours and it grabbed the data fine when FARR restarted.  :(

What I'll do is put something together to try and find where the problem is... I'll PM you the link.

Ronen, the very generous developer of SandboxIE has made available some copies of SandboxIE for use by our volunteers that would like to use it when testing the (numerous) NANY Entries this year!

The license, like the others, is yours to keep after NANY 2011 has finished. It's the 12 month Personal License... so SandboxIE will revert back to the Free Version after 12 months has elapsed.

If you're interested in availing yourself of this offer PM me...
431
Sorry for the problems CyberEvil: can I get you to zip up the TimeZone directory again for me?
432
But hell, everyone knows that a good name is 99% of it. Now I just hope that IS a good name.  :-[

It certainly is intriguing  ;D

Imagine if the world really was that random.

Have you seen, or are you going to see, Inception?

There's a part that is very similar to a sequence in the movie...

Once I have something to show I will post details in this thread.

You can whet our appetites with words or pictures  ;)

I have a young son who can use a lot of our Bandwidth at times, and I've found a gentle word will get him to throttle himself; he uses NetLimitter I think ...

Yep: that looks like the AutoIt equivalent

The only other thing you may need to do is to remember the size of the window for the next run...

Once the window is resizable then the controls need controlling  ;)

In AHK I use Tital's Anchor library: http://www.autohotkey.net/~Titan/#anchor

Does AutoIt have a resizable window? I know that I started using such a library with AHK which fixed those font issues: when the window and controls have fixed dimensions I think what's happening is that different system fonts are bigger/smaller and not fitting correctly (and wrapping).

It'll have to wait until Monday for a screenshot as I don't use Outlook at home.

Both windows were functional and I think (from memory) that I could have used either. Definitely not a ghost  ;)

It looked like the same code was run twice to produce the same window twice...
441
OK, sorry Iain... that's a shame, though (I thought I'd found it  ;) )

Hey I just tried this (as we use Outlook at work)... why are there two windows? If I move the window, there's another one (identical) behind; both close when complete.  :-\

Also: the width of the window is wrapping the body text under the input box so I can't see the word "help"

But it works!!!

@Perry Mowbray:
No the situation is as per my comment above, viz:

with the latest version 1.4.1?? Funny: May 4 is after the CodePage error I introduced in April 9  :-\ ...

If any budding Icon Authors out there want a FREE copy (as in 100% off) we have some copies of the Axialis IconWorkshop Professional available in return for volunteering on some of NANY 2011 Projects.

CyberEvil: Thanks. With some hope, I tried that file (TimeZone.zip), but it just crashes FARR, same as the last version, so I have again disabled TimeZone. I've not been able to use it for months.

Hey Iain: in fixing CyberEvil's bug I discovered that the javascript file had been written using a UTC-8 codepage. It would not load into FARR, though I got an error message rather than a crash??

Anyway, I've fixed the CodePage and it's all good on my machine again.

I'd be interested to know if that fixes your problem too?
446
Thanks for the response.

Here's the directory:
http://dl.dropbox.co...imeZone/TimeZone.zip

Thanks for your patience CyberEvil: I think I've found your problem. I installed from your files, and yup! No data!!

Didn't take long to find... In some circumstances FARRTimeZone.exe would not notify FARR that it'd finished, so the Data never got loaded. All fixed now!

Thanks for reporting it and sorry it's taken a while to get rid of it.

You should be able to use dcUpdater to update to the latest version, or you can overwrite the files with the archive in the OP.

Let me know how you go
447
No, I think that's just the zip file (basically) from the OP Iain...

I've got issues at work, but I'll have a look when I get home.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?), TimeZone does not crash my FARR, so I'm not sure what IainB's issues are??  :-\ or how to track them down...

N.A.N.Y. 2011 / Re: NANY 2011 Pledge: ContactFX
« Last post by Perry Mowbray on July 28, 2010, 06:25 PM »
So will FARR be the actual interface for ContactFX? Not sure how that will go. I use FARR for launching programs but nothing else. I've never understood it well enough to do anything else with it.

No, just one interface into the data. I'm hoping/planning that there will be lots (as that's what's bugged me about other apps)...

If you look at the graphic in the OP...
(see attachment in previous post)
-Perry Mowbray (May 13, 2010, 12:15 AM)

...it's meant to show that, to access/search contacts:
  • ContactFX can be used. I'm planning:
    • Search in ContactFX
    • Search via CommandLine parameter (I'm thinking useful in scripts, etc)
  • FARR can be used, but doesn't need to.
  • Static HTML can be used (once exported).
  • Other "Launchers"/scripts can be used with Command Line

The FARR integration at this stage will include:
  • Search / Display contacts
  • Search & Open contacts (in ContactFX)
  • Add contacts
  • Run ContactFX
  • Other things suggested??

My idea was that ContactFX didn't need to be running all the time, but that's not to say that it can't; I just wanted to provide functionality that it didn't need to be running to get at the data in a reasonable way.

I'm open to suggestions  :)

N.A.N.Y. 2011 / Re: NANY 2011 Pledge: ContactFX
« Last post by Perry Mowbray on July 28, 2010, 06:10 AM »
I've had a bit of a break from the main ContactFX application to get my head around Vitaly's FARR C# Plugin SDK, which has meant navigating around a new language: It's been fun (once the penny dropped with the SDK).

FARR will be providing Desktop integration including searching contacts, adding contacts and other actions with the contact data (emails, maps, urls, etc). So I wanted to at least get a bare bone working, just to relieve the nerves  ;)

I've added a couple of screenshots to the OP to give an idea of how things are progressing and where it's going:
FARRCfx will display ContactFX data in the FARR HTML window. Each card will be displayed using HTML in a format similar to how they are designed in the main application: i.e. each card can be unique with it's own layout, sorting order, TABS, sections and colours, etc.

The HTML will have the usual functionality that will include: mailto links; hyper-links to webpages, maps, etc; micro-format integration including hCard, XFN, hCalendar, etc.

This will essentially be the same format that will be used for HTML Export (for storing on a USB for example).

Next step is to get ContactFX to actually generate the data file (instead of hand coding it)  :-[

Hey CyberEvil:

Sorry -- I don't know what's happened to my notifications but they seem to have dropped off  :-[

First run TZ will scrape the TimeAndDate site and construct the data file.

TZ will work without an ini, but if you change settings an ini will be created.

You can send me your FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\TimeZone directory zipped?
