Get him a Wii...I think he'd probably be better off staying away from PC's.

It must be having the opposite effect on me. Their commercials actually annoy me so much that I refuse to eat there.

I saw a new case with 2 PSU bays in it! Then I saw an 850 watt power supply. Actually, I think that's going to be my next case. (Lian Li is excellent quality)

Maybe in 10 years I'll buy one of those wind mills just to power my computer.  ;D

1mb on board video? lol  ;D

Buy some "old" parts and you could double the power of that thing for under a 100 bucks and save your self the time and effort of fixing it all the time. Actually, that computer shouldn't even be running XP.

The BIOS thing is strange, never saw that happen before. If it's a hardware thing, there's probably going to be some sort of message and a beep code before it goes into the BIOS setup...that's assuming there's a speaker built into the case or the board.

No. But the date of install is a non essential feature for me. If I'm going to remove something, I always know what it is I'm removing.

Maybe the author would add it in the future? I don't know.

Safarp with all columns showing.

Meh....I like it the way it is. Speed isn't a huge issue. I like an enjoyable, pleasant interface and a stable database. It's a lot faster than pulling out binders (or stacks) of cd's and going through them one by one. When I need to find something on a disc that's packed away somewhere, I can find it fast. This isn't something I need to do often, so if it takes .5 seconds longer, I can live with it!

I'll one up you there my friend. I'll go as far as to say it's worth 1,000,000,000,000 times what he's charging for it!  :D

I used to use ADC (Advanced Disk Catalog from Elcomsoft) but switched to CD Catalog Expert because it's got a cleaner interface, shows systems icons related to files, and MOST importantly, lets me add categories in the tree (ADC doesn't).

BTW....no one mentioned Advanced File Organizer, another excellent program.

I use Safarp....it's VERY fast. I just type remove using SlickRun, and I don't have to reach for my mouse to remove a program. When Safarp loads you can start typing the letters of the program you want to remove then hit Enter to remove it.

I use it in Fast Mode with Icons turned off and hotfixes not shown.

Dirhael, Taskbar Shuffle is cool. Nice find!

I was using FeedDemon until I found RSSOwl. It didn't take long to remove FeedDemon and go exclusively with RSSOwl. It does require Java however.

tinjaw, there is a form for submitting things on the site. There is also a tech support email. There is no forum.

Wow, no one mentioned Notepad2. You can use the keyboard and the toolbar to zoom. Also has decent syntax schemes.

General Software Discussion / Re: Window Arranger Software
« Last post by Nighted on January 25, 2007, 03:16 AM »
The best tip I can offer anyone is to study the attached screenshot. Some applications have more than one rule in my list, here's why: After first installing, I didn't quite know what I was doing. I'd add a program and when arranging windows, have some goofy looking behaviour like the screenshot (lanux128) posted above. SlickRun was one of these, man...it was frustrating...and KeyPass, wow, tons of little titlebars at the bottom of my screen. At first I was trying to set rules for every one of those objects that popped up when arranging. Soon I got it to work with one rule by deleting all the SlickRun rules I had set up and then just checking the one box, as before I was checking both the class and title of each object that was related to whichever program it sprang from.

The other rules from my first attempts are still there, so that's why you'll see some programs entered more than once. I could probably go back and do the same as I've described with SlickRun and remove those extra rules but it works that way and I'm VERY lazy.  :-\

tinjaw, the window on the left is how windows open in 3.21 (with the explorer treeview open), on the right is how they open in 3.2, without the treeview. As I have my windows set to open at the dimensions shown by default, you can imagine how annoying this is that I cannot disable it.  >:(

O...M...F...G!!!!

As if I have never heard of this before! Attached stickies is freaking sweet! Sending stickies over a network? whoa!

Thankfully Mouser put this in the newsletter!

Can't wait to make some skins for this.

Hmm...I think I'll stick with Sizer for most window sizing and positioning. When I'm moving windows around I'm using my mouse anyway. BTW, I have managed to figure out WinArranger and it works quite well when setup properly. Wish you could click the tray icon to reposition the windows though.

« Last post by Nighted on January 25, 2007, 01:12 AM »
I agree...slow scan. I recently deleted a partition by accident. many gigs of little software apps and source code that took years to accumulate. I wouldn't want to risk losing anything for any speed trade off.

Anyway, if you ever DO delete a partion, remove that disc ASAP and salvage it from another machine if you can. I got every single file back.

Yeah, gussan, WindowSizer could really use some hotkeys, and probably a price drop. But it's unique in it's features.

What is this "reSizer" you mention?

This program is a major pain to setup regarding all the rules you have to add (at least for me anyway). I seen nothing that does what WindowSizer does, and it works right out of the box.

Yes tinjaw, I know about those options. But there is nothing there about opening folders, they are all relevent to sorting order in Open/Save dialogs.

Not sure what's going on, but support is a welcome feature with software!
