General Software Discussion / Re: Looking for a chm reader
« Last post by kartal on May 04, 2009, 07:41 PM »
Well my main problem is reading chm files that are on network., MS chm reader is giving me the crap and not opening them properly. I tried to follow online solutions but none fixed it, maybe because I am on 64bit.

Hi

I am looking for an alternative fast hopefully free chm reader. I have tried xchm which is ok but Ms chm reader is faster so it is not that pleasant to use.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Couple suggestions

Ok here is another idea, I am not sure if it is implemented though.

It would be great if Launchbar can have a special folder or menu that fetches open applications so that the user can user it for a supliment for alt-tab. I use farr alttab as well but having this function would not hurt :)

What are the free alternatives? Before going commercial I would need to see what free ones can do

mouser, one other thing is that it is not very easy to browse menus from the tray icon, they show up disappaer etc. It looks like there is some refresh mouse tracking problem. I personally use tray icon mroe than the bar itself.

Great work as usual.

You know what would be great addition also? Ability to fire-invoke shortcuts. This way those buttons can perform more functions :)

Hi

This is a great application, I never knew this one before. Here are the things I am missing at the moment

-There should be a tray icon at all times(I was using default launcher)
-Stay on top does not work all the time(I am using vertical orientation without docking)
-I know mouser said there is a sound setting per item but I am not seeing any under "menu, submenu group" under settings (I was using default launcher)
-It would be great if ther user could access the launcher while the preferences is open because there is no way to test the settings without closing pref.
433
Btw it is giving me a debug error "returning icon 0 for (path)" when I try to use the folder node.
434
Hey mouser that is great. The only thing I cannot figure out is the sounds. How can I stop them?

Do not install this application because uninstalling might mess up your other pdf stuff on your machine. Also uninstalling forces for a restart which I hate.

General Software Discussion / Re: Virtual text printer?
« Last post by kartal on May 01, 2009, 08:05 PM »
Edvard, thanks  but for some reason that printer does not let you choose where to save. Second I cannot find the files it prints kind of weird. I managed to find 1 of them but the formatting is not something I can trust either. it is just a printer in disguise in my view.

I actually like running eclipse+vrapper+vimplugin together so far. I guess it goes against the grain little bit but feels good :)

I have found eclipse+vim solution, it works well. It is not a full solution but it lets you open your choice of extension in vim inside eclipse

Well as I said I am not looking for code highlighting. What I am looking for is an advanced text pattern processor kind of thing that can analyze the text and create different color blocks based on words, repeats, indents, based on anything text pretty much. Trying to create rules for this kind of stuff is I doubt possible with those editors. It looks like Vim scripting is not that hard I will try later somethings with it.

bump, hey guys does anyone know a working solution for making vim and python play nicely? In other words I am trying to configure Vim to be Python friendly. I have the syntax, coloring, tabs etc set up fine. But I cannot find a way to run the .py script within Vim. I was hoping that I could also get python shell inside Vim, not possible?

housetier, probably it can. I know how powerful it is but I have no knowledge of its scripting so i was looking for a ready made app. If I cannot find any I am going back to Vim :)
