download it for offline play -> http://intihuatani.u...ing/flow03112006.zip
No! I can't do that, i already have to go offline to get some work done, if i downloaded flow to play offline, that'd be the end of the world!

Thanks, great (too good ;)) reference!

Developer's Corner / Re: Farr's 'Calc' program completely revisited!
« Last post by jgpaiva on March 12, 2006, 03:50 PM »
This is the best completion for farr.
As I use farr all the time, and need to make fast calculations, there is nothing better than having "calc.exe" in farr!

Thanks Gerome!

Now, everything became so much more neat!
I love that search field on the upper bar, and i love how this new look is much better for us, screen-real-estate appreciators! :)

Thanks!

Only bad thing is dirty fingerprints!
Yep, if it works in a similar way to touchpads on laptops, having the fingertips wet can generate some odd behaviour.
That means one point less. Now, it only has 9999999999 on my scale ;)

One feature that I thought would be useful is the ability to restrict a search to a particular forum.
That already can be done, you just go to search->advanced search, and you can select the boards to search! ;)

but the main impression you get from this is how powerful have TWO to FOUR (thumb and index of each hand) manipulators are,
No doubts about it, and i specially like the way they could handle it.
What i like the most is the way they make everything zoom by stretching the object.
It becomes extremelly powerfull when it's used on the desktop (like the picture managing demo), where you can zoom-out, and have a larger workspace.

I think this is a very intuitive and powerful way of working with computers, now, i wait in expectations for more development in this field ;)

EhEh.. This looks like a fun project!
It has some interesting screenshots!
And it'll have cody's relative from another dimension, i'll love destroying him with cody's bazooka! :D

(no way someone will give us some spoilers on this?)

I feel like i'm seeing the future live in those videos.
That user interface can break some boundaries, and make user interaction lots of times more intuitive than the keyboard and mouse interaction.
Not that i'm a apple fan, but they sure know how to inovate, it looks like another winning concept!

http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Viral_marketing
Oops.. i suppose i could have done that before asking. Sorry, i really need to add that wikipedia search alias in farr ;)

Then, i think this thread is in the same wavelength of this one.
It's a shameful way to do publicity, specially because it can make even bigger mistakes on people's heads then the normal publicity.
If some guy says on a blog that the origami will have this or that feature, and then the someone buys the origami thinking he was well informed but then the origami doesn't have it, it was just "some guy" on "some forum" who said that, no way to blame noone for that.

I think that more and more, when you buy something, you have to test it first, and have good, reliable fonts of information, other than just a search on the first results on google, you might end up with a wrong idea of the product you're buying.

In opera, I'm used to opening pages in new tabs by midle-clicking, and I do that very often, i think it's an easy way to keep things organized.
I think this could be an option in the forum, but it doesn't make me much difference, i almost always open the links in a new page anyways.
It's always good to be able to open a new page while keeping the reading of the post in the same place, so as you can easily get back to where you were reading on.

Just my 2cents

this would come in handy when i'm fumbling with the open/save dialogs then i could call up f+r then get the exact path i need...
Good thinking! :)

Ok.. The important (and stupid) question here: what's "viral marketing" about?

I generally stick to the blank screen or WinXP logo and then have my monitor turn off after twenty minutes.
I think you'll like the findings in this post. ;)
4239
That's very good!
It's only a shame that it doesn't work with https, almost all the pages i need it for are served over https :(
4240
EhEh.. I loved playing with it! :)
Already sent some to my friends.
Probably, the codycards also should be mentioned here.

(btw, isn't cody back?i still get the "where is cody?" while i'm posting this message)

2.  A search feature to easily find a post made by a particular person would be nice.
It's not exactly a search feature, but on a post, you can click the person's nick to see his profile, and from the profile, select "See the last posts by this person".
It actually isn't only the last posts, it has everything someone posted. (at least, it looks like it doesn, since it has all of mouser's 5587 posts ;))

I don't know why that's happening, but it might be related to the way it erases the other characters (by sending the backspace key).
I've changed the way it does that, and let's see if it erases the rest of the words.

kimmchii: It seems that ahk doesn't support to send unicode strings.
But it does suport copying unicode characters to the clipboard, for  further pasting.
So, I've adapted the script again, and it's attached to this post.
Please try it and send my your feedback.
It only works in apps that the "paste" command is ctrl+V.

Find And Run Robot / Re: FaRR running slowly?
« Last post by jgpaiva on March 08, 2006, 06:42 PM »
I think you've misunderstood the first post.
gaikokujinkyofusho mentioned a delay between the time he presses the trigger key and the time farr comes up.
I don't think it has to do with a slow down while searching.

Hi gaikokujinkyofusho!
Although i don't know the solution nor the cause, i know that's a problem. I've tried farr in an exact similar confguration (a toshiba P4m, 2.6, 512mem) and had nothing like that to report, it handled the same way it does in my own PM centrino 2.0.

General Software Discussion / Re: Software with odd or insane license plans.
« Last post by jgpaiva on March 08, 2006, 09:56 AM »
I found this license plan. IMO, this one s just crazy.

Notice that you get:
1 year's FREE email support
And they say that like it's a big thing! With "free" in caps.. Unbelievable. What happens after one year? they block e-mails coming from your e-mail? or do you have to put your license key on the mail you send them, and they have to check if it's still active?

Do you also think this is crazy, or is it only me?
I think that if they don't want to have work with answering mails, they'd better not offer it.

Wicked site!
There's some cool stuff there :)
I don't think I'd be able to use that alarm clock.
I think I'd end up going crazy with it because it wouldn't shut up, and instead of finding the pieces, I'd turn the clock into pieces ;)

can you pls support unicode?
Hi kimmchii!
I've already looked into it, but the script becomes much slower when I add unicode tranformation.
I've attached to this post a hotstring script. Please edit this script's folowing lines:

Function("African-American female","aaf")
there, place your abbreviation instead of b]aaf[/b], and replacement instead of [African-American female.

:*B0:aaf::
there, replace aaf by the abbreviation.

Then, try the script, and see if it works properlly, please.
(the hotstrings are triggered by ';')

Disclaimer: this in not the hotstring script creator, only one test for kimmchii to try the unicode support.

Good to know there are others interested in this coding snack too!
I've been testing and updating HotString Script Creator with Harrie, so it's prety much complete now.

ChangeLog:
- added "about/donate" button and dialog.
- search for repeated entries is now integrated in the main script
- there is a progress bar when looking for repeated entries (to avoid comeone thinking that the computer might have crashed ;) )
- trigger function is fixed (it works now, but Harrie reported a bug i still couldn't fix)
- added "esc" key functionality in the main screen
- lowered the keysending time, now hotsrings are replaced faster
- added traytip with "file creation ended" because sometimes it takes time to create the file, and that could be the origin for some problems
- added function that when you write an abbreviation in CAPS, the replacement is in CAPS

When you can test it, i'd be very thankful if you could post your comments here!
(post above updated with new version)

EhEh Amadawn, I see you're extremelly interested in the upcoming v2 of farr ;)
So am I :)
But it's not out yet.

But if you really want a beta, try LaunchBar Commander's ;)

(betas are usually anunced in the forum, btw)
