Done it with a few games on PSN now, including DRM for games
-Stephen66515 (April 03, 2013, 08:41 AM)

You mean DLC for games? Why would you want to share DRM? And how does that even work?

While I agree with the sentiment, this is the silly humor thread. That's not silly humor.

That was really cute. But a part of me doesn't like it because the cynic in me says that would never actually happen in real life. It's too implausible. Too scripted. But it sure is a cute, romantic idea.

Well, neither would Paperman.   :P

True. But Paperman was short enough that it was over before my brain started having those thoughts. I believe that's called Fridge Logic.

Potential Paperman spoiler
And also, the magical flying paper airplanes required extra suspension of disbelief.

Just added to my top list. Less than 10 minutes long and absolutely brilliant. It's called Paperman and it's by... Disney?

If you liked that one, you'll probably like this one too.

I saw Jack the Giant Slayer a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that great.

It put me off right from the beginning with a CG sequence with such poor effects that I swear I've seen better from Barbie Dancing Princess movies that looked terrible in 2006. Unfortunately my opinion of Jack (the movie) never fully recovered after that, even though the effects were much better after that opening scene.

TinyTinyRSS sucks.

At first it wouldn't work because of an error in its own code.
Then I had to upgrade PHP (which admittedly shouldn't count against TTRSS)
Then I had to figure out why it couldn't connect to the mysql database (I had to put the username/password/etc. in single quotes instead of double quotes, even though the file had the sample text inside double quotes)
I finally got it working to the point where I could login and configure it and then I tried to import my Google Reader subscriptions but it just encounters some more errors.

Well, I bought the 4-pack anyway. So if anybody in the future wants the games, let me know and we'll arrange something.

Lifehacker recently published a step-by-step on setting up TinyTinyRSS. Read it here.

They have an Android app available for it too.

I tried to set this up, but I'm getting an error:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /index.php on line 98

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ',' or ';' in /index.php on line 98

Line 98 is:

echo JShrink/Minifier::minify($p->get_js());

I commented out that line and now it works--sort of. Actually, it tells me that I need to use PHP 5.3.0 or newer. I guess I'm still on 5.2.x . . .

I don't really understand why you're okay with the idea of everybody signing up for and installing Skype on their machines (and paying for a membership)  but you don't like the idea of everybody signing up for a free Google account and not having to install anything...

But use what works best for you.

DC Gamer Club / A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 - Four-Pack
« Last post by Deozaan on March 21, 2013, 12:39 PM »
Hi folks,

I've had my eye on A Valley Without Wind since before the first one was released, but wasn't convinced it was worth the full price. So while I was waiting for it to go on sale, the sequel came out! Apparently the first one didn't quite live up to the developer's standards/desires so they made a whole new game and gave/packaged it with #1 for free, which is why the two games are bundled in one pack.

The quality difference between the two titles is fairly apparent:

So now the bundle is on sale on Steam, and I'm wondering if anyone here is interested in going in with me on a 4-pack. I've already got someone else interested, so I need two more people.

The game: A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2
At $11.24 for a four-pack, that comes out to about $2.81 per person.

Who's in?

The party is on. Make it rain gigabytes.

To celebrate Copy's launch, earn 5 GB of extra free storage for yourself and whoever you refer each time you introduce someone new to Copy. This is a limited time opportunity to rack up huge amounts of extra free storage while we build the initial buzz around Copy!

https://www.copy.com/bigger/

No referral link? It would benefit anyone interested in creating an account since they'd get an extra 5GB.

If anyone wants to use mine, here it is: https://copy.com?r=eQsGOu

EDIT: Apparently the bonus 5GB doesn't get activated until you install either their desktop app or mobile app.

It would be "like what Jim Morrison did with the Doors," he said. (Forgetting that Jim Morrison actually wrote all the lyrics and some of the music the Doors performed. Oh yeah...another minor detail...Jim could also sing a little. ::))

That's just details. :P

Does anybody really miss the early 60s?
 (see attachment in previous post)

You mean a time when it wasn't mandatory for both parents to work just to pay the basic bills? ;) :P

It still isn't mandatory for both parents to work. We just need to choose to live simpler lives. Most of the time such a decision will suffice.
