Offtopic, but you need to see the correct way to insert links, you're not using bbcode. it is {url=www.donationcoder.com}Donation Coder's site{/url} replacing the {} by square brackets ( [] )

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Batch command screensaver
« Last post by jgpaiva on April 03, 2006, 10:51 AM »
I tried to do it, and i got the same behaviour.
But, nevertheless, it still acts correctlly, it is ran after the screensaver time.
I don't know why that happens, it might be windows confirming that it does exist.
So, my solution for that is:
See what is the ahk_id of that window, and put a ifwinactive clause in the beginning of the script, so that in case that window is active, it simply returns ;)

(to find out the ahkid of that window, check the autoitwinspy, which should be present in the folder of instalation of ahk)
Does that solve it?

You should add an URL for http://www.alertbear.com/ in a larger font in the first post :)
AhAh.. I was about to say the exact same thing.
Moerl: it's not a matter of not being able to google it, it's just that it's bit easier with a direct link :tellme:

Yeah, that's a good idea!
brotherS, I'll see if I can get an AHK script put together that does the couple things I want (doesn't seem like it should be too hard). Then do like you say, jgpaiva, and rename the exe to an scr.
:) Good to know!
If you'd like some help, feel free to send me an email, or come by the Irc channel! (https://www.donation...ndex.php?action=chat)

I can fully understand your point of view, Hirudin.
But there's one important thing here. Screensaver files are actually executable files with a different extension.
That means, you can create your script, rename the executable to .scr, and set it as your screensaver.
This way, no more other things waiting.

I think the best way to do that isn't really with a screensaver. How about a script that lets you execute multiple commands after some time of idle time? It'd have the same effect, but would also allow you to use a different screensaver, or not use one at all.

Screenshot Captor / Re: AutoScroll and Beyond Screen images.
« Last post by jgpaiva on April 02, 2006, 03:06 PM »
I don't know if it works with exel, since i don't have it, i can't test it.
But it does work with a few browsers.
The autoscroll is used with the "red box capture", also known as "capture windows object".
There are two ways to use it.
You can right-click the icon on the tray and select "capture windows object" from the menu, and the redbox appear, then you put the mouse over the window to capture and press ctrl+shift+click to capture with auto-scroll.
The other method is using the hotkeys. If you haven't changed them, the default hotkey for capture windows object is ctrl+shift+printscreen. You press it, then the the redbox appears, and you follow the same procedure described before ;)

Although, this doesn't work with all programs. The best way really is for you to try it.
It's been tested successfully with opera and internet explorer. I believe it also works with firefox.

About you having the computer slow, even when the idleprocess is close to 100%, it could have something to do with memory, don't you have any process using too much memory?

The most common offenders are WindowsSearchIndexer.exe and SystemIdleProcess
-ken winston caine (April 01, 2006, 09:19 PM)
Only to give you one less thing to worry: SystemIdleProcess isn't actually a process, it only represents the amount of processor capacity remaining, which means that if it's at 100%, your processor almost isn't being used ;)

AhAh... That was a good one ;)
And 100$? Only? I belive farr is worth much more :tellme:

I've already played this game. It's so traumatizingly hard!
But i love his other game, Tontie. I've already played it a lot, some time ago.
There's also that one where the tree grows, it's also very entertaining.

In the line with the recent AlertBear Mini-Review by moerl, and the whole Discussion About AlertBear, and also on GreatNews RSS Reader, i decided to open this poll, to assess how much people really do use RSS feeds.

So... Please enlighten us with your opinion! :)

Thank you Moerl!
Great review, very complete. I was going to install it too, after reading this review. I only won't because of the "distraction" problem you mentioned, I'm having trouble getting things done. ;)

Find And Run Robot / One Request
« Last post by jgpaiva on March 30, 2006, 05:39 PM »
I have a few things that i usually use that aren't on my farr's search directories. So, i create alias for them.
The problem with this, is that launched alias don't appear in the launch history. In some way, yes it doesn't make sense, since they're already stored in the alias list, no need to be reapeated in the launch history too.
BUT.. They also don't appear on the list available when we start farr.
I think this would be very usefull for some alias.

So, my request is that if there can be a checkbox in the alias creation dialog, that would make an alias be subjected to appear in the launch list or not, and if yes, with or without the last launch parameters.
If this isn't possible, a checkbox for all alias to appear there or not would surelly be enough!
