I've used a few and still struggle with new ones...
This one looks very user friendly:
Fotor is well worth a look, it does sophisticated things really easily, perfect for someone who knows what they want but don't want to get bogged down in menus.To do an online test-drive:

- go to the link
- click on "Features" on the top bar
- Start with Basic Edits >Tap Enhance => then click "Get Started Now". A flash window will open with the tools/options on the left-hand side
- you will have to repeat steps to try out some of the different aspects
IIRC Paint.net gets recommended for ease of use as well, but havent tried it myself.
