To our supporters - please keep in mind that the ad system we are using, Google Adsense, is very aggressive about detecting people who are clicking just for the sake of generating clicks and revenue for the site, and they will probably not only ignore you if you start clicking on all the ads, but count it against you and the site.
noth(a)nk.you: I'd say it depends if you really are interested in the ads or not.

Glad you like it, there are more coming, i'm just not having enough time to do it.
As for the winkey shortcuts, that con has been taken from the minireview, where that is mentioned. If it's an error, i'll remove it ;)

Incidently, from the AHK page, it sounds like they would advocate completely uninstalling Microsoft's software and just using their's to execute all the required commands using these SC codes.  Not a half-bad idea, actually.  Maybe I'll do that some lazy morning.

Thanks for your assistance!

Yes, that might be the best way. I also don't have my mouse's software installed. However, that might make some of the keys not be possible to remap, as happens with one of my mouse buttons. On the other hand, i don't think that happens with keyboards since they have the scan code method, that is not usable with mouse keys. So, probably, the best way would be to just uninstall that software :D

WEP passwords can be bruteforced in a reasonable amount of time... but you don't even have to do that to gain access, afaik... Something about packet injection that I haven't bothered to look into.
Yes, f0dder, that's one of the main reasons i made this thread, to have an idea of the real dangers of having such network.
But the thing is: you have to do some digging to crack a wep network (i've made some without success). Another thing is that my router is quite bad, it doesn't even cover my house deccently, which means that it doesn't cover anything more than my neighbours' appartments. And i know every of my neighbours, and they're all old people that i don't think even have a computer at home ;)
So, i feel quite secure, i just keep the password on the router for safe-keeping.

I see what you mean, but i didn't understand one thing. Do you want the program to be dynamic, i.e., to be the program to get all the information? This could be done with editboxes, you type your data and save once, then, on the next time you run it, you select the checkbox next to the editbox and paste it.

jgpaiva & TWmailrec:
i liked your script very much that i had modified it a bit for my own usage & added a gui...

but i not too clear on why both of your scripts differ... e.g. jgpaiva's script adds a linefeed to the end of every line while TWmailrec's deletes all empty lines. is this on purpose?
TW's script is the same i made before, but with a few modifications he introduced to suit him better. My latest script doesn't remove blank lines because TW asked me for it not to remove them ;)
But now, the script works well for you, right? :)

I am all for wirelass lans!
No doubts about it.
Since i got my wireless router here at home, i can't use cables anymore.
Less speed? Yes, it's slower, but it fits my needs, i don't download torrents and such, but for the other things (gaming, surfing and downloading from ftp/http), it's very stable and very confortable.
I hate having cables all around, i'm even thinking of getting myself a wireless keyboard.
I don't like to walk into a room and have to either step on a bunch of cables spread through the floor, or have to be jumping around to to step on them.
My friends here at home use cable, because they are constantly downloading stuff from torrents, and feel that ethernet is better for them. I hate that idea.
At my parents' , i have to use ethernet, and i constantly miss my wireless router.
I mean, not having to have cables all around, being able to take the laptop anywhere in the house (with wireless, i can wake up in my bedroom and have internet, without needing some 30-meter-long cable spread through my corridor.
About the security issues, i'm not that afraid. I can't use wpa :( because my router doesn't support it, but i have wep, and i feel quite secure since there's only one more wireless network on my area.

jgpaiva: how do i use the uploader plugin to upload to imageshack? some screenshots would be nice...
Unfortunatelly, there's no way to use that tool to upload to imageshack, it can only be used to upload to ftp servers. If you don't use an ftp server, you can use imageshack's quickload, which is quite fast to use and easy, but crashes SC... :(

« Last post by jgpaiva on April 05, 2006, 04:04 AM »
My chair fell apart yesterday, i can't use it anymore, because the seat is not level anymore :(
So, i'm temporarily using my "giant pillow" as my computer seat.
Not being exactly this one, it's similar:

The only problem with it is that it isn't high enought for me to get to my desk, so, i'm in a bit of a unconfortable position.
Good thing this thread was started, it looks like i'll have to bue a new chair someday soon :(

I have no real need for this tool.

you've obviously forgotten about this:

PC Pitstop offered a financial incentive in its EULA, and it took four months before anyone responded.
;D ;D ;D Damn, i think i'll start reading those!
On the other hand... It'd take me so much time, that i think it wouldn't compensate the work ;)

Screenshot Captor / Re: Ftp Uploader
« Last post by jgpaiva on April 04, 2006, 09:26 AM »
Another option is RCFtp.

It was designed to be a right click context menu option (right click > upload) but accepts command line parameters as well, so you can easily use it (as I do) as an external tool with Screenshot Captor or your text editor.  What I particularly like is that it stores ftp profiles -- so when I go to upload, I can select which account and directory I want to send it to.  That way I don't have to configure different tools for different upload dirs.
Yes, that is a good point, but the main reason i made this, is to have the final url copied to the clipbard, and don't have to do many clicks to upload something, just click "upload" and wait ;)

« Last post by jgpaiva on April 04, 2006, 03:59 AM »
Mouser: this is the usual problem, already discussed about the thumbnail viewer.
lanux: don't be scared, that happens to everyone, after a few right-clicks, the program goes bananas. Don't worry about it, just avoid right-clicking. If you use it for sending stuff with come sort of imageshack's quickload, you might consider using the brand new SC's ftp uploader plugin ;)
4071
hahah, i should add a stat to report how often brotherS talks about miranda.
;D ;D Or maybe you should consider making a stat for how often he mentions one of the "wonder trio", ahk, miranda and alertbear ;)

Screenshot Captor / FTP Uploader
« Last post by jgpaiva on April 03, 2006, 06:25 PM »
Based on Chrono's upload to ftp tool (https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=493.0), i created a new tool that can be configured with SC, to upload images to and ftp very fast.

The best feature about it, is that you can set a final url, that'll be changed with the name of the file you upload, and copyed to clipboard.
Since most of the times, if you upload an image to an ftp, you want to paste it's name elsewhere, this tool, after uploading the file, will place it's url in the clipboard.

It's syntax is the following:

FtpUploader.exe FTPURL USERNAME PASSWORD FILENAME FILEURL
ex: FtpUploader.exe ftp.FooBar.com FooUser FooPassword Screenshot.png http://foobar.com/foouser

The final url copied to the clipboard is "fileurl/filename". In this example, it'd be http://foobar.com/foouser/Screenshot.png
If you don't wish to use with the copy to clipboard function, just don't put anything under FILEURL, and nothing will be copied.

This script is directed essentially at the SC's external tools configuration, so, here's the instructions on how to configure it on SC:
  • Goto tools menu -> configure external tools.
  • Click Add.
  • Select some name for it (like for example: "upload to ftp").
  • Browse for it's file
  • Fill "arguments" field with FTPURL USERNAME PASSWORD "%file%" FILEURL.

You can get the compiled version here.
Or the .ahk file here.

While trying to see if that link worked for me, I tried alfaclock, and it looks good! It's uses very little resources, makes his work very well, and is very easy to use.
I just wish it had better alarm clock functionalities, creating an alarm clock is too much work.

Still off-topic: Nice! I thought the only colors available were the ones in the drop-down menu.. Thanks!
4075
Offtopic again: hey, how did you put that text? it's great for posting offtopic stuff, but i can't find that color!
I know it doesn't use curly brackets, but if i posted with the other brackets, you wouldn't be able to see the syntax, only the link.
I've just found this option, it's fun!
