Thanks for a great program,
I have a few update ideas.

I'm in! I have several half-baked ones about to release right now so please ping back after Christmas. I should have published several of the most impending releases for the month by then :)

Happy to serve you again,
Vic

Hey! GitHub repo got a +1 star by "dcmouser" :)

https://github.com/p.../bggfetch/stargazers

Things seem to be flowing the right way!

Current feature-set for README.md file is:

- Single window, tabbed interface.
- Supports multiple games (sequential fetch).
- Drop folder to directory text box.
- Remember window location and size.
- Remember last directory value.
- Remember horizontal and vertical separator width.
- Downloaded image saves as: FULL_GAME_NAME_FILENAME.
- Real-time counter for added and fetched games.
- High-res game image auto-zoom (resizable).
- PictureBox supports drag&drop of downloaded image file path (actual location on disk, not image).
- Always on top.

the url :

The file extension .skp

Hello dear Contro, I've checked the search results' source code from 3dwarehouse... it may need a browser-simulation download bot as opposed to simpler site backup as httrack does, given the links are Javascript-based (not plain HTML as usual).

The bright side being the upcoming N.A.N.Y. 2022 pdGet for nkhormanik has such a module in preparation

As the first version comes up, I am personally creating the specifications for downloading "*.skp" files from 3dwarehouse search results. This batch-fetching is absolutely doable with the right programming.

Okie, I am taking the opportunity to finish your other pending requests in the interim :)

Cheers!

...While Jesse finishes validating the program on Windows 10, here's current pre-release binary.

Direct download: https://github.com/p...h_2021-12-06-PRE.zip

Image (running on Linux, BGGfetch is cross-platform):

Requires .NET 4.5+ (Windows) or the equivalent Mono runtime.

Feel free to test & report

Cheers!

PublicDomainVic / The case for supporting Windows 7 in 2022
« Last post by publicdomain on December 06, 2021, 07:12 PM »
December 2021. It is again that time of the year to review current market-share trends and plan on what to support during the following 12 months.

There are not set rules. Some go by the actually-supported systems as per the companies' schedule, some go by installed user base numbers, some simply keep supporting whatever pays them as their only variable.

In my case, I tend to lean on the user side to choose. I've noticed a clear pattern of supporting Windows versions some years after their official end-of-life date due to the users' keenness to keep them installed.

My educated guess for W7: same as Windows XP and the others before it. After official EOL, a chunk of users cling to their installed system during some more years. They're reluctant to try the new one(s) until "peer pressure" (is it work/market pressure?) convinces them of upgrading their systems... or they simply acquire a new machine as a natural step of life :)

A short visit to the good ol' Statcounter site reveals the following:

Desktop Windows Version Market Share Worldwide - November 2021
  • Win10 82.45%
  • Win7 12.76%
  • Win8.1 3.16%
  • Win8 0.9%
  • WinXP 0.5%
  • WinVista 0.2%

https://gs.statcount...ws/desktop/worldwide

Other sources like Statista have published a longer-term chart:

https://www.statista...system-market-share/

Very illustrative I must say. Has it at 14.77% (September).

12-14% is healthy enough to grant one more year!

So, I've decided to support Windows 7 for the whole 2022 :)

Hello & good day dear Contro! You can achieve this via HTTrack Website Copier:

If you provide both the website URL & file type, I can help you craft the exact command :)

Vic!, putting up another request.  In the new requests section....

Hi Nick! About to be released, along with BGGFetch.
414
Given:  Large directory tree structure, folders with files, maybe some empty folders.

Challenge:  Move recursively throughout tree.  Delete all folders in entire tree that has in name "xyz".

There might be one such folder.  There might be one hundred.

Hi Nick! nkTree coming:

Supports long paths via Win32 API library: 32000+ characters.

https://github.com/publicdomain/nktree

(I'm finally home & coding for the Public Domain  November release -just some days to go)

(thanks @publicdomain Vic, and others, for much help on many challenges)

Having multiple community support is the best indeed!

(From my humble position, rest assured it's my pleasure, AMIGO :) )

Thanks for your kind words of appreciation Nick :-*

So, the request is, any other workaround besides manually trimming the troublemakers?

Yes. It should be possible to catch & fix those automatically.

Cheers!

Any news about this one?

Hello & good day! I'm currently coding the multi-site for PublicDomain.is to begin uploading on December.

Going to buy hosting on Black Friday to grab a good deal for the whole 2022 :)

I've done work with YoutubeExplode as well, so no worries regarding yt-dl (https://github.com/Tyrrrz/YoutubeExplode)

There's certainly a selection of maintained libraries we can use for video fetching

Cheers!

Hello & good day! There you go:

1.  How does Flatten Folder deal with same-name files?

Renames by adding a string based on epoch + file index in the batch.

2.  What is the upper limit number of files that can be processed that have the same name?

As many as needed.

3.  What is the upper limit number of total files that can be processed?

No upper limit! --As much as your computer can handle ;)

Cheers!

I need a script in AHK ...

Hello dear Contro! If you change your mind regarding it having to be a script, I can do a traditional .exe program for your requirement :)

P.S. there's a question regarding backup @ Re: copy two files from one folder to many folders.

Cheers!
420
Hello amigo, since your request overwrites files, should it have a "Backup on overwrite" check box option?

That's the only thing I think is left, unless you keep your own backups.
