LAME is a codec to save as MP3, no recorder itself.

For freeware recorder try:

« Last post by AbteriX on August 03, 2007, 05:52 PM »
There are many ways to do so.
There are copy tools installed as shell extension into the context menu.
There are synchronization tools
There are backup tools
There are file managers like Total Commander or Servant Altap Salamander or even freeware Freecommander with an sync tool aboard too

What have you tried till now?
What do you prefer?

If you search this forum you will find threads about this issue.

Wuhpp, just found this and think off you:  :-\

BBComposer FireFox extension
https://addons.mozil...e/firefox/addon/3795

The BBComposer allows you to edit textarea contents
by switching in a WYSIWYG mode with a right click on it.
You can choose 4 content types : XHTML, BBCode, XBBCode and Wiki.
Especially useful for CMS, Wiki and Forums.

Maybe someone wants to test?

----

Also seen:

It's All Text! FireFox extension
https://addons.mozil...e/firefox/addon/4125
Edit textareas using an external editor, because it's all text!
Right click on a textarea, select "It's All Text!" and edit the text in the editor of your choice.

------

And BTW,
i use Resizeable Form Fields FireFox extension
http://justinsomnia....-fields-for-firefox/

"A lot of forums and boards provide very small textareas for new postings.
If you type a longer posting, you have to scroll up and down, to read what you have written and to proceed." (Text from 'Resizeable Textarea')

Thank you.
I don't have time to test now, but i have an suggestion:

How knows what "Smart matching" means ... if he didn't just read this thread...have he search first the docu's ? ;)

Would you consider to use smtg like:
1. Matching whole words only
2. Smart matching (default) ==> "Matching Word starts with" (default)
3. Matching any sequence ===> "Matching Word contains"

Wow, fine thread.

I have the need to use such soft every few months only.
So i have to decide every time again what's best for me because i have forgotten my last experiences.

I know and use also
Vgrep http://www.english.aionel.net/
and
ReplaceEm http://www.orbit.org/replace/

Then i have used
InfoRapid Search & Replace http://www.inforapid...ml/searchreplace.htm
and
Agent Ransack http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/

But i have not really *that* experiences.
But  your
Textcrawler http://www.digitalvo....uk/textcrawler.html
looks very promising, thank you for sharing

"Quick test:"
Textcrawler 1,7 MB  download contains VB Runtime files also.
The Textcrawler.exe is only 125kB if packet with UPX.
Unpack with UniExtract was enough to use it on XP.

But Textcrawler uses the Registry to store it Settings.  ([HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DigitalVolcano\TextCrawler])
Much more desired would be settings in an INI or XML file to be portable.

Why can't i change the border line between the found-files-window and the found-results-window?
I have two files found only but a many text finds.... but i can't split the GUI as i need.

The Find/Replace and so buttons are a lill bit to big. I would like smaller one leaving more room for the windows.

The main GUI is by default higher then wide.
I can resize them .... but the big button still need much room.
I would like to have smaller buttons and more placed them in the wide (left/right)
with an default GUI in landscape format so i have more room for the found-files and found-text windows.

An non-install ZIP without the VBruntimes with an hint that the runtimes are need would be very nice.

If i have the time i will contact the author of this fine piece of work.

Edit:
piece, not peace :D

I will test the regex option.

OK, Tested a lill bit:
TextCrawler use Microsoft VBScript Regular Expressions library 5.5
- this will usually already be available if you have IE5.5 or above installed.

I was able to search an RegEx over multible line with <script(.|\n)+?</script>

DC-TextCrawler-RegEx.png
4bit (16 colors) PNG =>22kB only.

-----------

I think there is room to improve the GUI? What do you think about my study? I will contact the author about this:

Don't be fooled by Wordzilla's screenshot of the search-topic edit box,
the real power of this feature is that you can now select this from
the quick search dropdown box for the topic you are currently browsing,
or from *within* the results page.  This is reallly useful for long threads:

> for the topic you are currently browsing
I first have to find this topic.

I can search with "[X]Search in topic subjects only"
Then i have found a few topics.
But i can't search again inside this first search result.

OK. An work around is to find an topic by searching  with "[X]Search in topic subjects only"
Then i go into each topic and search there for the "word"  with option "This topic"

My idea was to bundle this two search features: Search "word asd" but only in "topic containing subject xy"

what about
Only Threads subject containing: [REQ*    date time       ]

What does that mean?  :P

I mean search for word/words or user but only in thread with "word" in subject.

Like search for
WORD [editor regualare expression]
USER [    ]
but only in threads with
SUBJECT [discount]

or search for
WORD [explorer context menu]
USER [   ]
but only in threads with
SUBJECT [REQ*  or   date or time       ]

So for my example above with 'Simpson Fun'
i would search for
WORD [fun]
Hole Word only [X]
USER [  ]
SUBJECT [ Simpson or Simpsons]

.

I have been scanning the AHK site (using the search, reading everything I can, trying everything I can imagine) for info on how to add a graphic into a button.

Lew, i edited my post above.
Thanks tomos for helping out.

I would have attached screenshots but I can't figure out how.

EDIT: i added an short how to at the introducing thread of this feature at
https://www.donation...96.msg13500#msg13500
418
I don't get the point.

1)
There are archivers who create folders
for all selected archives
and unpack the archive in this folders at once.
But didn't move the archive itself to this folders....if this is the point i don't get.

2)
Filemanagers like TotalCommander and AltapSalamander can be set up to use even archivers who don't have this feature.

3)
Batch or AHK in coupling with an command line archiver and assign in the registry with archiver-extension?

4)
Isn't this an issue for "Drag&Drop Robot" ?

Thanks for enlighting me  :D

Maybe, if possible? ... search for match words in hole thread?
It's possible, although I believe it will hit hard on server.
We have too many topics here (with numerous replies) where people share different opinions or even wander off the topic for a while.
Expanding the search to entire thread for each search term will, while return more results, suffer a whole lot in relevance -- when:

JBS:
(Just brain storming, {do you say the same in english?} )

we have
Search Forum: [All                  ]
For Word:       [picture            ]
From Author:   [                     ]

what about
Only Threads subject containing: [REQ*    date time       ]

Maybe, if possible? ... search for match words in hole thread?

Try to find 'simpson' and 'fun' ... i didn't find the thread 'Recreate yourself: simpson style!' with that expression
..... i found it with 'simpson' as expression only.

And maybe search for "hole word" only as default:===> 'Fun'
With an hint to use asterisks ===> '*fun*'  for fuzzy search.
Or better an check box?

Able to use RegEx would be handy of course ==> '\bFun??'  ===> 'Fun' , 'funny',....

DCZillaSearch_5-hole word.png

Maybe "Case sensitive" -search too? I mean no.

First: i like to find all post no matter what subject from the last three days to see what happens.
f.ex. i was online but had no time to read all ..... and next i went online i don't see the last posts any more.

Second: i like to see the search result in an compressed form... the subject lines only.
Sometimes this would help to find the wanted thread, especially for the issue mentioned above.

I know there is the way via "Forum > Recent Posts" ... but i guess find Recent Posts by search function is more native?
