General Software Discussion / Re: Photo watermarking
« Last post by nite_monkey on June 15, 2008, 06:18 PM »
So I guess there is more to watermarking than just sticking a picture in the bottom right corner of the picture, and then making it slightly transparent  :feedback:

I've noticed that with the current computer that I am using, my windows xp partition is really slow (2008) (partially because I have a problem with installing to much stuff), but on my ubuntu partition that I am using right now, so far the only thing I can throw at my computer and have it start slowing down is second life, but then again, second life has massive problems with memory leak issues.

I guess if you like linux alot, and love the terminal (at least, that is what ubuntu calls it), then this would be pretty cool.

General Software Discussion / Re: webcam as mouse?
« Last post by nite_monkey on June 03, 2008, 06:49 PM »
One note with the Mtmini, Make sure the webcam IS IN a box! I tried to do that setup, only I had a glass door to an old stereo cabinet, and I just taped a bunch of pieces of paper together, and put them on top of the glass. That didn't work, because I just had the webcam on the floor looking up at the glass, and too much light was getting to the camera, so it didn't work.

I just didn't want to run ahk, and the reason I wanted this plugin was so I could make macros in world of warcraft

Living Room / does anyone know of this winamp plugin?
« Last post by nite_monkey on May 27, 2008, 04:20 PM »
A long time ago I had a plugin for winamp that would let me control winamp from any program that I could type in.
all I had to do was type /w amp play
and it would play, if I use stop instead of play it would stop winamp.
I was hoping someone know of this plugin, I have been searching for it on winamp's website and can't find it

play - /w amp play
pause - /w amp pause
next - /w amp next
just incase you couldn't understand what I was talking about in my post above, those are some of the commands you use

Living Room / Re: Why is all audio on websites so freakin loud?!
« Last post by nite_monkey on May 19, 2008, 06:30 PM »
thats weird, for me, I am turning down the volume when listening to music through winamp and vlc, but I have to turn it up on half the crap on the internet, with the exception of random websites that happen to have audio that isn't so dang quiet that I have to turn the volume up to almost max.

lol, nah, they just made it support the red/blue 3d glasses, it makes the game a tad bit more interesting, but I switched to regular play, it wasn't exciting enough to keep it like that.

General Software Discussion / Re: How do I delete big folders with ease?
« Last post by nite_monkey on April 30, 2008, 03:42 PM »
Thanks everyone for helping me through this one.
Shift Delete worked, but the problem was, it would keep hitting access denied permission errors, and stop the delete.
i will give sysrun a try tonight and let you know how it goes

What i was really looking for was if someone had created a small app that takes over the windows delete and processes skipping errors and ending with a report. Like teracopy does for copying, but for deleting.

Thanks again donation coder members!
-relequestual (April 30, 2008, 02:17 AM)

well if you want it to skip errors, then you could try Unstoppable Copier and just set the target as the recycle bin or something like that, if that is possible, I haven't ever used Unstoppable Copier, I only heard about it from Darren over at hak5.org

I made a second tutorial video with my friend, this one is about keyboard shortcuts... based on the first one, you can only imagine how this one ends if anyone has ideas for the next video, let me know
</off-topic>

It just struck me as funny that I was intending to run FARR and was trying to use FARR to do it with... It was a vertigo-inducing blend of Escher and Kafka for a second there.
rotfl, I actually did that once also, when I had re installed windows, and didn't have farr installed yet.

if it is permission problems, then would running an explorer window under the SYSTEM account fix that problem?

If so, sysrun will let you do that.
just run sysrun, and open either a command prompt and use
You can't get much quicker and easier than this (be careful - you can do a lot of damage) - from the command line :

rd /s <folder name>

If you're adventurous you can add the "/q" option and it'll wipe the folder without asking for confirmation.

that method, or run sysrun and open an explorer window and use shift delete on it.

General Software Discussion / Re: Maintain window size and position
« Last post by nite_monkey on April 29, 2008, 09:52 PM »
I don't know if it works for all programs, but if you position the program to the size and location you want it, hold down ctrl and push the exit button. Then the next time you run the program it should re open it in the same spot and teh same size as last time.

I use that when ever firefox decides it wants to open on the right monitor, I just move it to my left monitor, and resize it so that it takes up all of the screen and then I close it while holding ctrl.

One side note: I am almost positive that you can't have the window maximized.

I myself wouldn't take it, but that is just me, because I have had major problems with za software in the past (I have a post here on the forums  somewhere about how I had to move my hard drive to a second computer to fix it)

lol, that would be pretty funny to make. I could take it over to my friend's house, and pull it out, and he would think I was weird for carrying around a broken usb cable until I plugged it in and it had data on it.

...you make a comedy based youtube video about FARR

If you knew how to make an autohotkey script that when you click the middle mouse button, it would push the windows key, and then somehow move the start menu to where the mouse is, that would work, I could do part of that, but I dunno if I could make the start menu move to the mouse.

General Software Discussion / Help with making 7zip sfx
« Last post by nite_monkey on April 08, 2008, 10:48 PM »
I've been trying to make some self extracting archives with 7zip, and I can make them, but that isn't all I want to do.
I want to have it to where after it extracts, run a program that was extracted.
example: create a sfx with file.txt and program.exe called archive.exe
as soon as you run archive.exe and the two files are extracted, run program.exe.
That is what I am wanting to do, but I don't know how to do that.
All I know how to do is right click on a folder, and then click on 7-zip|add to archive, and check the create sfx, which doesn't give me the option to run a program after it is extracted, so if someone could help me out here, that would be super awesome!
