Not sure about which Theme this is, it came looking like this and I never had a reason to change it. Doesn't look very classic though.
I can't seem to recreate this issue on any of my boxes or VMs that I test with.  Are you running large fonts?  A non-standard DPI?
No, never touched any of those settings either. Strange...

Hmm... could attract new people to the site IF the content is good. We probably all know bad blogs. But if you find enough people who are motivated to post good articles, it should be a good addition.

Did you look into the 'GUI growth' issue yet?

(Did you feed Trout with growth hormones? :D)

It's almost what I want, could it be changed that it remembers the last 'state' also? So that it would start in "pause" mode if I have pressed "pause" before I did quit Trout the last time?
Try the latest silent update (v1.0.2.186).
Thanks, works like a charm!

Because the last version of Billy (and only a beta) is already a year old I just tried 1by1. For its small size (~100 kb) it's great (it even has an audio enhancer that works wonders on some bad recording I just tested it on), and it seems you can just 'install' it (by just copying the folder) several times (naming the folder differently) to use several instances of it. The "remembers last track and position" comes in handy there, looks like this will become another player I'm regularly using next to xmplay, Trout and mp3DirectCut!

Edit: Haha, I just found out that mp3DirectCut and 1by1 are from the same guy! ;D Now I remember reading about 1by1 before (when checking out mp3DirectCut and suggesting features/reporting bugs, but never had a closer look)...

General Software Discussion / wanted: alternative to FastStone Image Viewer
« Last post by brotherS on March 01, 2009, 01:43 PM »
Hey folks,

I've been a long-term user of FIV but some little bugs are still not fixed (after years - and yes, I reported them), so I'm looking for a good freeware alternative.

What I mostly need are these features:
- speed (going through image)
- a good 'move option'*
- key functions can be used with the keyboard only

* like in ACDSee, FIV allows to press 'm' to open the move dialog, where I can (with just pressing 'm' once more) move the image to the folder where I moved the last image to. I can use the up/down keys to select other folders that I have previously used.

The program doesn't need to have lots of other features.

It would help if you could add why you like it. :)

Another idea for a Trout feature (from reading https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=17222)!

1by1 has this feature:
Full Resume play: remembers last track and position

Could that be added to Trout too? Would be helpful!

The simplest I've ever seen: 1by1 — the directory player.

I like this feature:
Full Resume play: remembers last track and position

Are there more freeware players with such a feature?

Generally a very good program IMO.
Yes, I second that, even if I'm still on version 3.  8)

Ah, ok. Which are the "aspects of the V3 GUI" that you miss?

And did you write them, suggesting that those - and the file exclusion feature you mentioned - could be added?

the English site doesn't seem to have a version history at all.

English-language version history is here

Thanks!

The version 4 update is a free for purchases after Oct 1st, 2007, but you will most likely need a new registration code.
Cool, that means I will get a free upgrade also. Since MerleOne does not like version 4 too much, I wonder what the rest of you (who both used v3 and v4) thinks?

I would like to update mostly because of this new feature in v4 that I requested back then:
Files to be deleted are now deleted before new files are copied to avoid running out of space on the target disk.

After not doing any real backups for almost a year ( :-[ ) I today installed version 3 of Super Flexible File Synchronizer again (which I registered back then) and started to backup some stuff.

Feeling more secure already. 8)

My question: what has changed in the new version 4? Does anyone know? The German site has a version history which ends at a 3.x (huh?) and the English site doesn't seem to have a version history at all. http://www.superflex...ble.com/amazons3.htm hints that 4.x is needed for Amazon S3 Web Storage support, but I didn't find more than that.

Also it would be interesting to know the cost for updating from 3.x to 4.x

I suggest a topic split! DCupdater issues might better be discussed in another thread, since it involves many different programs, Trout just being one.

A suggestion that I meant to make before (and forgot twice)*: please consider changing the order of the item in the hotkey menu to what's being used most often: "previous" should come before "next", "down" before "up", "left" before "right", etc.

*I remembered this when I saw a Google ad for http://www.projekt202.com/  8)

Every AH 8)K I've written, including Trout, that saves position subtracts these eight pixels as well as 46 vertically.

posw := posw - 8
posh := posh - 46

 :D
Hehe, then why is Trout getting bigger and bigger? (In both dimensions btw, I only noticed just the width expanding before.)

I discovered a funny bug: every time Trout is restarted (I use window mode btw, not fullscreen) it increases its UI width a little bit. :D

I actaully had the same problem with an ahk app that I wrote, i needed to -8 pixels from the saved width, something todo with margins vs the actual width of the window...
Did you look into this? Bug is still in the latest version.

! "Audible notification on new track" wasn't working properly on Trout startup.  [Thanks,
       brotherS]
Seems to have been fixed, thanks!

- when you use the mouse on the seek bar to move to the beginning of the file and push the mouse too far (with the left mouse button still pressed down), you will accidentally change the volume (when you happen to move over that part of the UI, which is easy to do because it's so close).
Please try build 177 and see if the bar improvements I just made solve this issue.  Thanks.
Works correctly now!

Hmm, strange... using build 155 here and the play beep/track option just didn't kick in although a file had been selected in the options and it's enabled in the menu.

Edit: Updated to 174, still the same problem.

Edit: I had to disable the option in the menu and to then enable it again to make it work.
