High dpi fixes for Screenshot Captor are almost complete....
3927
You can do what you want with Screenshot Captor.

I'll give quick vague instructions and then if those are sufficient I can try to be more specific.

Step 1:
Set option to tell SC to capture and STAY MINIMIZED -- this will satisfy your desire to never be bothered with any extra choices to click, etc.
Set option to tell SC to automatically copy captures to the clipboard -- you will have a couple of choices here, whether to copy bitmap of image or file; experiment to see which works best depending on where you like to paste.
Use the shift+PrtScr hotkey to capture a REGION with crosshairs (or set a custom hotkey).

Welcome to the site 6Decades -- good of you to join us

I had the extreme pleasure of using a TRS-80 while I was learning to code and it was a great computer to use.  And the keyboard was tactile heaven.  I still remember some of the old games we wrote for it using the very cool block graphics.
(The Radioshack color computer was also a joy to code).

I think in general verfication codes may be shown in capital letters but they usually don't care if you type in lowercase or uppercase.

What everyone else said -- you can set whatever hotkey you want to trigger the different captures.  Or you could even use a little bar docked to your screen that you trigger with a mouse click if you prefer.

Post New Requests Here / Re: How to print a multiple page forum thread?
« Last post by mouser on March 07, 2017, 08:10 AM »
On this forum there is a "PRINT" button in the upper right of each thread that will display a simple one-page listing of the entire multi-page thread on one page for printout.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Latest FARR Release 2.226.01 - June 26, 2015

The FARR Options panel still has small fonts that are difficult-to-read.
The CHS Options panel has fonts that look a bit different, just as small, but which are not so difficult-to-read.

I think I will have a fix for this soon.

Can I ask that high DPI (4k monitor folks with large text font setting) folks who would be interested in beta testing new versions of SC please contact me, either through forum message or via email ([email protected]).

Hi neverlight.
If you can think of specific easy feature ideas I'm definitely interested in hearing them.

As for calorie counting -- my experience is that there are lots of very good full featured diet apps that do that kind of thing so I am hesitant to compete with them.
However I do have a very quick calculator type control I could add if we wanted some very basic manual calorie counting..

I'm afraid lately it's more a case of: Mouser is hibernating and procrastinating and everyone is waiting for some long overdue updates!!
3937
Ok I am making some progress on improving SC for use on high-dpi monitors; options look a lot more readable as does text.
Need to do a little more tweaking though for some oddities, and need to scale up the button images.

Yes I did actually..  I just didn't have any memory of mentioning that..

I guess I told the donationcoder irc chat channel about it  :P

So yeah my prior model was this one for $16: https://www.amazon.c...-Fryer/dp/B00005KB37

I put the plastic lid on while still hot and it just melted right into the oil.

In truth though, after it cooled the melted plastic peeled right off and i could use the fryer with a glass pot lid fine.  The real reason I upgraded from the $16 to the $25 fryer was because the new one gets a bit higher in temperature which is better for frying.

I bought a small $25 fryer and we made some Miso soup with fried tofu.  SOOOOO good and easy.

The usb security key looks cool.. I'd like to look into coding apps that use these.

Site/Forum Features / Re: Adding back an Ignore Thread feature?
« Last post by mouser on March 02, 2017, 08:20 AM »
It's a bit hidden.

Go to your profile, then Modify Profile, then at the bottom you should see Buddies/Ignore List in the menu.  Go to that, then to your Ignore list, and add the user there.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Displaying Hints?
« Last post by mouser on March 02, 2017, 07:08 AM »
I can confirm that there is no reason I can't show hints on mouseover for submenus. I have added a new option to say that you want to see mouseover hints in a specific submenu.  It will be in next release.

dluby you are already seeing mouseover hints on submenus? Can you post a screenshot?

That's what I like to hear.. But for those of us who missed the original post? What was the problem and what was the answer?
3945
@mouser: I already tried that and it doesn't seem to work. Tried it again just now, with same result. Maybe I am doing it wrong? We're taking about the tree in the Tree pane here - right?
In fact trying to move stuff around manually like that in the tre seems to be really difficult/kludgy in CHS, so I figured it was not in the design.

You know, you are right.  You can drag and drop groups to move them in and out of parents in order to hierarchically arrange them, but you can't reorder them within a group using drag and drop.

To change their relative order WITHIN a group, right-click and edit the group and then change the DISPLAY ORDER WEIGHT setting -- the lower it is the higher in the order it is.
3946
Questions:
How can the Child clips all be automatically "inherited" upwards by the Parent group?
How can the tree display be arranged in alphameric order of name?

It's an interesting question regarding parents of virtual folders.. Currently the parents do not show inherited contents of virtual folders -- but I could change that.. Let me think about adding an option for that.

Regarding arranging the tree alphabetically -- you must manually drag and drop to reorder groups in the tree.
3947
People are asking for this more and more and it's clear I have to make SC look better for those on 4k monitors.. I have started work on it.

Tried to attach a screenshot of Screenshot Captor but apparently can't run more than one copy at a time.

This is true, but SC does have a function to take a screenshot of itself.

I stand by my suggestion that the post I commented on was not appropriate for this section, but the burn button feature idea post .. now that was funny.  ;D
