Thanks for making me see the Xara xtreme tuturial. It's fantastic software!
Now, i'm hoping they'll make a free version for windows too! :D

If pandora was the best there was in music, opera has revolutionized it. The new opera9 supports widgets, but there's one widget that is particularly interesting!

I show you.. Pandora Radio Widget!
It can look like this:

or even as small as this:

Ok.. This is one real classic.
Do you recognize this image?

I've just now remembered Death Rally from the same guys who did duke nukem3d. I loved to play this micro-machines-like game (with a few twists ;) ).

I've just found out about AlphaGrips.
Has anyone actually seen one of these?

;D ;D Incredible. Just crazy. That site also has other interesting stuff, definitelly worth seeing.
But their mp3 knob-view player is really very interesting (and very well designed).

[edit]
Just check the BalloonPhone!
Turn your smartphone 90 degress - the contents of the screen will rotate as well. Even if you hang upside down like Spiderman you will make everything out.

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Undo "Restore all items" in Recycle bin

Why do you keep so many files in your recycling bin?
-Carol Haynes (April 28, 2006, 08:58 AM)
I also usually do the same. I extend my recycle bin to the size of the disk, and check the "don't ask on delete" option. This way, it works just as if i had a "mark for deletition" system, and I don't need to have programs like norton ghost and similars.

Good to know you're interested in helping, bliss!

but it could be a pricey proposition over the phone
I think that mouser meant "over the phone" as in "over skype", or some sort of voip client. (see www.skype.com). This would be for free, if you have unlimited time internet connection (dsl or such).

DC Website Help and Extras / Re: No eMail Notification When Using QuickReply
« Last post by jgpaiva on April 27, 2006, 01:40 PM »
i'm looking into the quick reply notification thing, i don't know why it wouldn't behave just like regular reply.
I think it was me who mentioned that. I was just guessing. I'm not sure that's the problem here, i think skywalka just would like to have a checkbox next to the "post" button on the quick reply. (since he can't even have that option enabled, that can't be the problem)

Deozaan: brotherS split topics, since you're talk was a bit out of topic. You already got a few replies to that post. Check here:  https://www.donation...index.php?topic=3414

Edit by brotherS: yes, sorry Deozaan! I thought you subscribed to the thread and noticed the split  :-[

I think taskbar++ is a great idea. I just don't like the fact that you have to press one key on the keyboard AND wait a bit before you move the taskbar buttons. I also don't quite like the redraw after you release the button (although that has to be done :S).
I think i'd find it very useful, if it wasn't for the fact that it's not very practical, having to press a button and wait 2 seconds is a bit too slow for me.

Nice find! It works flawlessly, looks very good, and *can* be quite useful. If not useful, at least it's great fun. I'm having some fun with it right now :)

This last version had a bug (sorry!) and the "pass by parameter" mode wasn't working correctly. I've fixed it, though.
Please redownload:
.exe version
.ahk version

:) zeemar
Nope, i did process killer. But skrommel did a quite useful app that i only remember existed after making processkiller.
You can get the new version from:
.exe version
.ahk version

The new version accepts more than one process name. You can input it like this:
on the inputbox: processone.exe,processtwo.exe,processthree.exe
by running with parameters: processkiller.exe processone.exe processtwo.exe processthree.exe
3893
If you'd like some more options, check skrommel's ProcessGuard.
https://www.donation...rommel/#ProcessGuard
3894
I see you're quite desperate.
Here's processkiller:
.exe version
.ahk version

When it is executed, it'll ask for the name of a process, and will kill it when it comes up.
If you pass it some argument, it'll use it as the name of the process to kill, and won't ask for anything.

[edit]it only works with one process per executable.but can be adapted if you have any need for more processes.[/edit]

Living Room / Re: How -- and why -- do you use different browsers?
« Last post by jgpaiva on April 26, 2006, 01:42 PM »
Hum.. "why" use opera? There are a bit too many features to mention here, but i'll try.
  • Stability - opera crashed about 5 times in about 5 years of use. And when it did, when it came up, the session was exactly as before.
  • Mouse gestures - i love to go through tabs only with mouse buttons
  • Keyboard Shortcuts - i can make a shortcut for absolutelly every function in opera. (and i do make them ;) )
  • Good space management - i have a small screen, so, i need a perfect space management. Opera allows me to have buttons with more than one function (if one action isn't possible, it executes the next one), scale them as small as i like, and place them exactly in the place i like.
  • Button expandability - http://nontroppo.org/wiki/CustomButtons has fantastic buttons, always very usefull
  • Fast and secure - it's the browser i've found to be faster during browsing, and for what i've read, it's the most secure browser (although i don't make that my top priority)

If the reasons above aren't enough, i have yet another one: It looks great!

Here's my screenshot:

I can understand you. Once one gets used to an interface, it's very hard to use a different one.
I know why your "stop" button disappeared. It's the reload button. The reload button changes to the stop button when a page is being loaded ;)

@edvard: I had the exact same problem when i tried ff. I couldn't find the buttons, nor move them to other places. You just have to dig a bit, but you'll find opera's user interface is (very!!) costumizable. If you'd like to see some nice all-in-one buttons, you should see here.
(this is a link to nontroppo's fantastic website, with everything you'd like to know about opera, the same allen mentioned, just another page)

IMO, you just have to give it some time. I'm sure you'll find out great things about it.
