Pride.  Also, the satisfaction that somebody else is using something you created.  In regards to Coding Snacks, I thoroughly enjoy taking somebody's idea and creating something tangible for them.  For me, it's never been about donations though I do appreciate, and use, them.  I'm gainfully employed full-time, so I keep my donations as sort of a "fun money" account for me to buy bits, bobs, toys, games and software.  =]

Sure.  =]  PM the email address you'd like me to gift this to.

If I track something down that's steam-only and we give this a try, what sort of payment options would be acceptable?

You can either PayPal me the money or send me DC credits for the amount.  Easy peasy...

Hmmm...I did notice the mouse cursor stuttering (and CPU spikes) while using this app.  By chance, are you polling the mouse position constantly?

Nice application.  Well done.  :D

You may want to consider disabling the movement function while the options dialog is present.  That way, the cursor doesn't go away if people decide to type values into the options instead of using the up/down controls.  Also, an enable/disable via a hotkey or tray menu would be nice, too.

The downside is that's it's delivered via Steam. I have had a lot of trouble with those clods. They cannot seem to get the hang of my address at all, and keep insisting that I don't live in the country that I do!

One of us could always gift the game to you...then shouldn't have to worry about their GeoIP thing hanging you up.

Create a [Tasks] section like this:

[Tasks]
Name: desktopicon; Description: {cm:CreateDesktopIcon}; GroupDescription: {cm:AdditionalIcons}; Flags: unchecked
Name: quicklaunchicon; Description: {cm:CreateQuickLaunchIcon}; GroupDescription: {cm:AdditionalIcons}; Flags: unchecked

I hope you don't mind, Krish, this is what I came up with for Tom:

Intro:
Tom's Audio Renamer (TAR, for short).   It uses simple regular expressions for matching groups within a filename and allowing the user to use those matched groups to reformat the name.

Download:
http://skwire.dcmemb.../apps/snacks/TAR.zip

Notes/caveats:
  • Pre-populated with a match string and a format string that should work for your files.
  • No settings are currently saved.
  • Minimal testing so use this app with copies of your files, please.

Usage:
  • Drag-n-drop an album's worth of files to the list.
  • Adjust the match and format string if necessary.
  • Highlight a file in the list and move it up and down with ctrl-up and ctrl-down (or the right click menu).
  • Once you have the list in the order you want, click the Rename button.
  • Click the "?" button for more help information.

When it comes to fantasy, there aren't too many series that I don't enjoy.   :D  kyrathaba (and any other Martin fans), did you know that HBO are making a series based on the Song of Ice and Fire books called Game of Thrones?  It looks completely badass.

I'm reading the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson.  Good stuff if you're a fantasy reader like me.  Really deep, take-no-prisoners type of style (similar to George R. R. Martin).

superboyac, you can do what you want (map remote drives locally) with Hamachi.  I've done it myself.  However, and this is a big however in your case since I know how particular you are, you're probably not going to be satisfied with the speed of working with files over what boils down to you and your friends' internet links.  If the files are small, fine, you can probably get away with it.  However, let's say you're working on a text file that is five megs in size.  You open up your text editor, browse to the remote file and open it.  You will now have to wait until that five megs of data is uploaded from your friend's internet link.  In other words, he's uploading five megs of data to you and will be constrained by whatever his internet upload speed is.  Now, once that's done, you make some edits and choose to save the document.  You now have to upload those five megs back to him...all the while constrained by your upload speed.  Each and every time you make a save, that five megs will need to be uploaded to him.

Do you see where I'm going with this?
