- I *think* the misunderstanding started when someone said that OfficeTab doesn't work in 2002 and I could see quite clearly that it does work in XP - hence XP must be different from 2002. But as with everything wrong, the explanation is not all sound logic. My apology for the nonsense.

Hey Curt.I haven't used the add-on (since I only have Office 2003)?-mosey (October 25, 2009, 09:09 AM)

Other than that, it certainly is buggy.
Maybe it is an east versus west issue?-Curt (October 25, 2009, 12:25 PM)

OfficeTab now works OK for me! (and presumably it could for you too).OfficeTab don't go on office 2002
Though this was a really useful Add-in to MS Office, on my laptop it had only seemed to work in Excel and PowerPoint, but not for Word (where I could have put it to good use). This was despite my not insignificant efforts to try to discover and "fix" the problem.
When I started up Word today, I discovered to my pleasant surprise that OfficeTabs now works a treat in Word as well.
The only thing that I had changed and that I think (no proof!) could have brought this about was that I had happened to use CCleaner (for the first time ever) - albeit with some trepidation - to clean some redundant garbage out of my system. So, I suspect that something was blocking the Add-In from working and CCleaner removed the blockage.
So, all you people (above) who tried OfficeTab and it didn't work or behave nicely in some way - well, it might not hurt to install OfficeTab, close all MS Office applications. Then, if OfficeTab does not work as it should, run CCleaner, reboot the PC, and restart the MS Office applications.
If you try this, then let us know how you get on please.-IainB (October 08, 2009, 09:17 AM)
I thought I would chime in here. I would like to find a nice tool for organizing desktop icons as well. Something like fences would be great. As far as fences goes, I like (the idea of) fences, but every time I install it and try to use it, I get tons of explorer crashes ... so many so fast I can't use it at all. I have tried it several times over the past year or so as they have come out with new versions, but I get the same thing every time. Seems to be a great app, I have friends that love it, but it doesn't like me or something I am running.-sunlitlaz (October 04, 2009, 01:17 AM)
