Found Deals and Discounts / Re: Hurry up: PIM Giveaway - All My Notes Organizer
« Last post by Curt on October 14, 2010, 05:00 PM »
Thank you for the offer.

... giveaway of AllMyNotes Organizer Deluxe Edition version 1.37 (worth $34 value), for free, full version.

1) How can such an old, abandoned version be a "full" version?
2) The price for version 2.23 is $23.80, not $34. Version 1.37 has no $$-value since it isn't for sale.
3) If the new $23.80 version is "de luxe", how can the old, outdated version still be "de luxe" "worth $34 value"?
4) What to do if the user accidentally updates from version 1.37?
-- I guess it is very important to keep the old installer.

Thank you, but no thank you.
My team just lost a match.  8)

Edited: Sorry, I didn't see widgewunner's post, before I first posted this post post...

-congratulations on your 100'th post, NigelH

One needs a paid licence to access their forum ? ... So this beta is restricted to old buyers only, yes ?
The forum is private and is built into the application! Yes, the beta is available only to owners of EPP6.

-yes, but:

100% Satisfied or Money Back

Your purchase is covered by Jan Goyvaerts's personal three-month risk-free unconditional money-back guarantee. When you buy EditPad Pro, you can try the full software risk free for three months.

A single license is €40. But I could find no way to change the currency, so my question (to any American reader) is of course, is it $40 ? :tellme:

-so am I. Via tough decisions, I have reduced the number of installed programs, to 347... I really don't understand how you have managed to go below 200, Darwin. Do you still keep it below that limit? I am both impressed and puzzled. Maybe I just have too much spare-time.

haha. If you are a PowerPro-user, I can understand why TLB is not to your liking; they're from quite opposite worlds.

yes, ..., great quality, ...

-good :-)

It is hard for me to understand what it takes to have YouTube keeping the uploaded quality. I can see (a few) other people managing it, but I haven't been able to do it myself. No matter how good format and quality, I upload, YouTube will always diminish it. The original file that I uploaded this time was 350MB, but the best quality available now is 130MB 211MB. Fine, of course, but not as fine as the original. For normal videos, Facebook actually keeps a BETTER quality, than YouTube!

Be advised that after the necessary re-boot you will need to right-click the task bar and uncheck Windows quick-launch, and check True Launch Bar (TLB).

I should warn that I had to re-boot twice before things were okay.

General Software Discussion / Re: Help needed to alter partitions
« Last post by Curt on October 11, 2010, 05:48 AM »
Can I simply move "Curt" (incl Documents, Music, etcetera) to another partition?
Will Vista automatically understand and remember this?

No you can't because Curt cotains all the details of your user profile. You will be able to move a lot of it but it will leave you in a mess.

What you can (and should) do is to move all the user folders (Documents, Music etc.) to your second hard disk.

You can do this automatically by changing the location of the folder in folder properties - right click on the folder and use the options to move it.

.....

-yes, I am aware of this, Carol, now. Sadly, my first attempt failed ( https://www.donation....msg162467#msg162467 ) because I did it the wrong way.

-------
Regarding the new post from kyrathaba:
I too would leave the partition as it is. 40 MB is almost nothing to fight for.

-the picture will not be vector, because kalos is talking about taking a screenshot; a bitmap. If the files are like the test file, I *imagine* size 150% will be fine. But it doesn't make sense to talk about borders; since there are no genuine pictures, there will be no natural borders.

General Software Discussion / Re: extracting info from pdf

your test file does not contain any tables or pictures at all, so there is nothing to extract, except text. It MAY have been Excel tables when it was created, not now, but it was more likely made in Word and Emax Draw, or similar. The big figure is made of many small parts; each column is a figure, each letter is a figure, etcetera. I am sorry for you, but there is no way you can extract all this as a unit.

no "copy" or "save as" or ..., but "extract"!

Because of your request only, I have now tested Solid PDF Tools, and I must say that I cannot help thinking you may not yet have fully understood how to use the program. It can do all you asked for. If you still have the program installed, please watch the online tutorials, and read the manual. Remember that the program not will edit picture, Excel or Word files, it will only create them. (Look for a new folder!)

http://www.soliddocu...ect=CreatePDFtoExcel etcetera.

My Nitro PDF PRO OCR will also do what you ask for. My AnyBizSoft 5-in-1 PDF, as well.

I have version 4.8 PRO and have not tried their new version 5 because I think it (the PRO version) is too expensive ($55 / upgrade -50%) and too thorough (read: "slow"), but they also offer a HOME / PRIVATE version. I have however not tried that one:

FolderSizes 5 Personal / Home Licenses: We're now offering a feature-limited Personal / Home Edition FolderSizes license, designed specifically for the home user. Personal Edition licenses cost $27.50 USD each, and have the following restrictions:

    * For personal / home use only. Not available to organizations of any type.
    * Can access local storage resources only (remote / network paths cannot be scanned).
    * Use of built-in scheduling and command line features are unavailable.
    * Windows Server operating systems are not supported.
    * The ability to compare file system analysis data is unavailable.
    * One single-user license purchase allowed per order.

To order a single-user FolderSizes Personal Edition license, please click here.
