@mouser: Maybe that program doesn't work because your computer isn't compatible with that mouse pad:

Customer: "I'd like a mouse mat, please."

Salesperson: "Certainly sir, we've got a large variety."

Customer: "But will they be compatible with my computer?"

Which I would have easily seen had I checked the handy version number...
Oh... So THAT's what version numbers are for? eheh... Now i get the importance of it ;)

Right.. I did fix it, but didn't upload to the ftp. Sorry. It's there now.

General Software Discussion / Re: completely unjust disregard for 'farr'
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 16, 2006, 07:18 AM »
i've tried many many times and i am under the impression that the alt+space is not as fast as the ctrl+space hotkey
I also have that impression, i had some problems with the alt+space hotkey, but it works perfectlly with the ctrl+space. As for farr missing keypresses, i think that only happened to me when it was "woken from a long sleep"..

Living Room / Re: Skype users: beware
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 16, 2006, 07:06 AM »
Thank you very much for the heads up and enlightning, f0dder!
IMO, it's important for people to know this kind of stuff.
Though, i do recognize that skype has reasons not to allow their code to be cracked.
But if their code is not good, they really should correct it.
The best thing to do would be just what f0dder mentioned, inform skype about the vulnerability, and give them a dead line to fix it.

Ooops!  :-[ :-[
Yes, all the labels were wrong, the height was switched with the width ;)
It's fixed now.
I'll be completing this update soon, because nothing is centered, etc...

.ahk version

Ok... An incomplete update (see it like a beta ;) )
I just want your opinion on the direction i'm heading:

(only the .ahk version was updated)

 ;D ;D
enjoy beating yourself up?
I thought you meant playing it once, then trying to beat the previous score! Playing against yourself in real time, is quite something else!
Very interesting, but i can't shape my brain to think that fast in 2 different things..
Now, the question remains: which of the sides is the opponent? ;)
3809
I think this game is traumatizing  :tease:.
The playability is very low, and it's not easy to understand how it works.

(or maybe i'm just upset because i can't get past the damn snake on the 10th level..  >:()

Find And Run Robot / Re: Feature request for group alias
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 14, 2006, 02:35 PM »
It amazes me everyday as everyone seems to come with the same idea, it's incredible.
This feature has been requested so many times, in many forms, by different people.
I guess this just proves it should be implemented ;)

The .exe works great just what I wantedhat I wantedhat I wantedhat I wanted.
For some reason, reading this line got me very confused, i'd even say disturbed. Is it only me? Might be because of the advanced hour :S

Screenshot Captor / Re: Updating the help file
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 13, 2006, 03:49 AM »
I'm in the process of writing a big updated help file for Screenshot Captore - figured it was about time.

If anyone has any particular areas they think should be focused on in particular please let me know.
:) :) Great, i think it was needing a help file.
For me, the red box capture is the most complex thing about it, and i still don't know how to use the exceptions.

Find And Run Robot / Re: Feature request for group alias
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 12, 2006, 04:23 PM »
I'm not usre if this is what you're looking for, but the alias are already saved in a text file.
Just go to the folder you have installed farr, and open FindAndRunRobot.ini.
Scroll down to LaunchAlias, and you'll find all the alias there. The syntax might freighten you, but i think mouser should have some good links on how to edit that part.

(sorry if this isn't really what you're looking for ;) )

@tinyvillager: Thanks for the tip!

@brotherS: the link works for me!
It's already active, just go to your contacts, edit one of them, and you'll see the "add picture" option there ;)

(btw I got unlimited dsl for 21.99 U.S. a month )

:) The only way I've found for this is to move the second monitor so it barely touches the first one in the Desplay settings.
This might be the solution, it's definitelly worth trying. It has a very interesting effect with the mouser positioning. Just test it, you'll be amazed at the place your mouse comes up ;)

General Software Discussion / Re: what kind of keyboard you use?
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 11, 2006, 08:03 AM »
There's yet another advantage for that keyboard: Its great for people who:

  • use many languages in the keyboards, because like that you don't have the other language's characters in the way to making distracting you from what you want to write.
  • like to redefine theys keyboard keys to other stuff, allowing them to put themselves the labels in the keyboard.

Still, this surelly isn't the keyboard for me. I like to have the letters there, even if i know where they are.

General Software Discussion / Re: These days, it's the Usability, stupid
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 10, 2006, 02:11 PM »
Agreed. I listed Find and Run Robot because it doesn't seem difficult to use right out of the box, but not necessarily so for Screenshot Captor. I find it an advanced screen capture utility, not a basic one. Screenshot Captor just does a lot of stuff.
True, i think farr was well designed. A good thing about it is that to use it, nobody needs to read the help file! And still, it's a great powertool, when well configured can do almost everything. (i say almost, because hopefully, v2 will be the one able to do everything ;) ).
As for SC, i thins it works the same way, if you use only the basic functionality, you hit printscreen and it saves the screenshot to somewhere, it's that easy. But if one wants to use the other features, one has to learn a bit...

« Last post by jgpaiva on May 10, 2006, 12:44 PM »
I entered in a few random numbers (that seems to be all it accepts is numbers) and sometimes it will pop up a grid that does nothing and it resets the timer in the upper right hand corner. weird.
I got the same thing, when i put some of the numbers in the screen, like the binary code or the number on the left of it, but then, it just doesn't do anything more.  >:(

General Review Discussion / Re: Opinions on remote pc control software
« Last post by jgpaiva on May 10, 2006, 12:39 PM »
Not much time ago, i also searched for something in this field, because the native windows RDP didn't cut it for me. I found urtravnc which looked pretty decent and worked well, and had the advantage that it allowed logging in even from a computer without anything instaled, i.e. from the web browser.
I couldn't make it work over my router, though.
