Living Room / Re: Cody Relatives Spotted in the "wild"
« Last post by wreckedcarzz on December 20, 2008, 12:16 AM »
Here are two pictures of Cody (or a relative, not sure) (1 closer in than the other) at my doctors office (for kids, hence the painted walls (hand painted, too!)). I forgot I took them and just found them sitting in my Pictures, so I figured I'd share them :)

Living Room / Wreckedcarzz Sings "Still Alive" from Portal
« Last post by wreckedcarzz on December 19, 2008, 08:28 PM »
Scancode was NOT involved this time! 100% voluntary (be that good or bad... your opinion).

I decided that, after watching "Idiots of Garrys Mod", "Idiots of Garrys Mod 2", and "Portal Credits Song - 'Still Alive'", I decided to make this sing-along of Still Alive. It didn't come out that bad (3 finished recordings, 3rd was chosen)!

Best listened to in a lower volume (Windows Sound Recorder isn't your prime upper-range volume recorder), but not half bad. I'm happy with the outcome.

For those curious why I made it: I smile every time I hear the lines "Now these points of data make a beautiful line. And we're out of beta. We're releasing on time." - Dunno why. Just makes me smile so big (ex: :D) :P

Hope you ... enjoy. ;) :) ;D

EDIT: The resulting MP3 is even worse than Audacity had within the editing interface. It's ... mediocre now. :(
EDIT: Uploaded my singing by itself. Listener discretion is advised. ;D

I have just finished coding 2 programs (7 hour job, its 1PM (13:00) here now) that will make TrackMania fans jump in happiness :D

DownloadForever and UploadForever are two relatively small programs that do just what they say - download and upload (tracks!).

The process behind them both is relatively simple - the Uploader takes your input (track file, name, type, difficulty, DC name) and makes a temporary text file of data - it then uploads the data and appends it to a list on the Mazecraze.dcisv.com server, and then uploads your track.

The Downloader grabs the text file list from the server and gives you all the info on each map. As of right now, the maps are NOT sorted (ABC order just because that's how I uploaded them).

I am only making the downloader available right now because I need to fix an issue with the uploader, but go ahead and enjoy, uploader will be ready soon! :D

Wouldn't scancode being pwned by p3lb0x be one of the best gaming moments of 2008?

Agreed :)

Just an update on MiniBrowseIE...

  • Slight modifications to the tab, stop/reload, and other controls have been made
  • There is now a functional Clear Personal Data function, somewhat similar to Firefox's - except it has the added ability to close the browser OR close all tabs and return to Home
  • There is now the ability to see a website's Web Security Guard rating by clicking on the security icon in the top bar (next to the Search button)
  • Search now works (currently Google only)
  • History and Favorites are now fully functional, and share the same sidebar
  • Misc bug fixes, massive code cleanup

Images attached :)

EDIT: Forgot the Favorites/History image! :-[
EDIT: Images now attached to first post, first post will be updated as new info is available

In the future, I recommend to be wary of sharing audio files with scancode ;D

That had to be said aloud? ;D

AuthorWreckedcarzz

Description
A basic internet browser utilizing the Internet Explorer rendering engine. I have been attempting to create a fully functional browser that is "so good, I will use it personally", however I have yet to achieve that goal- this app aims to change that (for the 3rd time encounting, again from the ground up).

Previous builds were:

  • Fully functional (basic tabbed browser) yet buggy "BasicBrowser" - using the IE engine. It was alright, but I only used it on rare occasion, and it didn't "feel" like a good quality program.
  • Semi-functional (basic tabbed browser), slightly less buggy "MiniBrowse" - using the Gecko engine. Still in development, although I am giving up hope rapidly for it.

Features
It *should* (due to time constraints) include (by the NANY deadline):
  • History (complete)
  • LinkView (complete)
  • Favorites (complete)
  • Website security notification (complete)
  • RSS (in-progress, will be released in an update)
  • Printing (w/ previews)
  • Privacy options (complete)
  • General options (will be released in an update)
  • Keyboard shortcuts (will be released in an update)

Planned Features (in addition to above)
  • Parental controls
  • Password saving
  • Better tab control (close button directly on tab, etc)
  • Switch back over to the Gecko engine (eventually)

Security notifications (site encryption, Web Security Guard link):

Usage
Installation
Go to the Download Link above and Open/Save (whatever you like) the ZIP file. Extract the files contents to a folder of your choice. Make sure all 4 files are in the same folder, or errors may occur (if the history.his or favorites.fav are deleted, MiniBrowseIE will error BUT re-create them after the error message).

Using the Application
There is no "setup" time (after installation, that is :P).

Note: The current version does not require installation and can be run from virtually any media (its under 500k in size!)

Uninstallation
Delete the MiniBrowseIE folder and contents (wherever you extracted it to)

Known Issues
None at this time, however be warned that this program is unstable at this point (as of this post) - I am using it currently, however I am still debugging it "constantly" (every few minutes). I won't release a beta until it is at least stable for normal usage (meaning that I can't find any bugs during a couple days use).

EDIT: Spelling, grammar, bad BBCode
EDIT: Updated items on list
EDIT: Screenshots moved and labeled, added download
EDIT: Updated information, official first release

Update: RSS should be done by the deadline, printing will be worked on afterwards (I will setup automatic updating :)) - I had to backtrack due to lost data (!) but I have recovered and made a few tweaks and improvements, more info soon! :D

Update: RSS is implemented but not fully working, I will have it fixed in an update. Automatic updating is a go! :D

I'll *try* to be in this year, probably posting one of my programming class final projects (rewrites of previous apps that have been lost/damaged/abandoned). No guarantees, but I'm hoping. :)

Ah, didn't think about JBS. Haven't used it in a while.

I attached a picture of it in action - read the filename, I said it out loud when it loaded my desktop.

EDIT: In case anyone is curious, the images are from an album on my Picasaweb; screenshots from a game called Project Torque

Hmm, seems to do it for me too. :o I'm not sure then... wait and see if skrommel (MonitOff's programmer) or someone else more qualified can't help :)

I don't do much AutoHotkey anymore, but this should be what your looking for..

NOTE: I didn't touch the options and I'm sure that the program could be more efficient since your taking out most of the logic behind it (simply using Shift+F1 to turn off), however this is a working model and should suit your needs. When touching any key/moving the mouse, the screen comes back on - I don't know how to make AHK recognize Control+Shift+F1 and ignore all other keys- sorry.

AHK and EXE attached. :)

EDIT: For spelling

It seems web based...I've never used it, but it seems like it might fit the bill. Never hurts to try, right?

I also use Portable Thunderbird, (currently 2.0.0.17 - I should update)...

A bit off-topic, but the beta (in development) PortableApps Updater helps immensely ...
</off topic>

I second the thought that it might be some weird configuration setting that got messed up, so a reinstall would probably be the best route.

Actually I have Thunderbird (Portable Edition, via PortableApps.com) downloading my Gmail now via POP3 - no issues. You enabled POP3 for all messages and disabled IMAP, right?

Good grief, I am going to scream... I have spent the last 6 7 hours making an updater mechanism for FloorIt 2. My first fully working run JUST completed - I can see why people go insane now ;D

I figure I might as well give some information on how I set this up, as I managed to make it relatively simple for me to do:

I made 3 whole programs - one has been scrapped. Of the other two, one is the revised FI with the ability to update, and the other is called the "FloorIt 2 Update Manager". The update manager is something that only I (or, assuming I release code, any coder) will/can use to easily publish updates. It takes in information and sets it up in a text file (previously XML, that was a beach) and uploads it to the Mazecraze FTP server, where FI can download the data when checking for updates. I am going to work on making it compile new installers and more for me now, so I can stop worrying about installation files missing and stuff. It seems I left this on the Preview- I am done with the automatic setup routine now, and am testing it. If all goes well the new setup file will be available in just a few minutes (I will edit this post with the link).

Overall, it's a PITA, but I'm learning; slowly but surely.

FloorIt 2 will be uploaded (with/without update functionality, depends on how far I get this final portion complete) in a few hours minutes to http://wreckedcarzz.wikidot.com/

-Brandon

EDIT: Download the new version here, with support for updating and numerous bug fixes.

I was kind of hoping Google would have their own client (I like my Shiny theme :P), but I'm more than happy to use Thunderbird for it - I'm getting tired of using Windows Live Mail anyways. Should have stayed with TB in the first place.
399
I don't know, thats what is puzzling. It's like a random hit-and-miss IP scan and it just happened to hit me because of the setup, but then something executed it. The properties of the file DID say it was from Windows, I'm not sure I trust it, but maybe that's what got infected and Windows actually ended up screwing itself?

Just don't know HOW or WHEN... :tellme:

Also, the Linksys WRT300N (I'm getting the 350 this week :D) runs DD-WRT, with heavy security (minus DMZ (yea yea yea, this PC has security on it :P) and port forwarding). The SPI firewall and some filtering is enabled, but I'm not much of a router person. I remember something about NAT in one of the setup pages but I don't remember exactly what it did ... default settings. :-\

But I am going the opposite way - leaving POP3 and going to Gmail. That's (Gmail -> POP3) what I used to do - now I am using it as my primary email.
