Yusef Lateef - Eastern Sounds

only at minute six so far, but this is sounding very nice (YT)
thanks!

I don't think I ever heard a YL album that wasn't excellent.

This Impulse 30 Year Celebration is a superior sampler.  Lots of "definitive versions" of standards like Stolen Moments etc..

Curt, I think Lazarus (at least version 2.3) was simply a Firefox add-on that may still be available.  A Google search turned up
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lazarus-form-recovery/ .  You might give it a try.

Yup.  I downloaded and installed it yesterday.  Seems to work fine in Pale Moon.

That's only because they're not making sausage out of a lawyer ... Then everybody would want to watch.

Perhaps you should pitch it to TruTV?  Sounds like a winner.  :)

I used to work for one of the largest credit card processors in the world. If you knew what I knew about credit cards you'd never use one again.

"Laws are like sausages, it is better not to see them being made."

Otto von Bismarck

I guess we should amend this to:
"Credit cards are like laws  and sausages, it is better not to know how they're made."

btw does anyone have a Pale Moon favorite reply saver thingy?  You are typing a reply to a post and the connection goes down along with all the text typed.  I tried one in FF but it seemed klunky(and I don't remember the name of it.)
I highly recommend the free add-on Lazarus.  I've used it for several years on both Firefox and Pale Moon, and it has saved me many times.  I haven't tried the newest version (3), since version 2.3 works well with Pale Moon and I've seen no need to change.

Thanks for the info.  I'm using it in PM now.  So far so good.

Edit: when I say "it" I mean Lazarus 2.3 that is.

There's a two more options for locking on lid close over here: SumTips

LicLock looks like it may be cool.  The LClock is the exe that was in the zip in the blog link.  But the gui program should appeal to the user as he doesn't have to fiddle with autoit.  Thanks.  :)

AMD don't do Hyper-Threading
I tried a new system info utility and that's what it said.  Since then I looked it up on AMD.  I haven't done anything intensive yet.  My video conversion days are done.  Eventually I'll likely do some small vc++ compiles on it.  Right now I'm kind of lazy even to do the ahk stuff.  I have to get back into the swing of it.  :)

You lose all the text when you hit Post/Preview if the connection is down?

I've just used the back button - just tried it now with the NIC disabled and all this text was still here.

Sometimes the text is lost but generally it survives.

BTW, what CPU is it ?

CPU is E1-1200.

Yeah I've done back button before.  But I got a weirdy where DonationCoder site disappeared and the college page where you have to submit an email address zapped into its place.  I'm trying Lazarus.  Although I think it may conflict on forums with built in autosave like SevenForums.  I'll try it for a few days.  Almost anything is better than total erasure,

I must be getting old. The young coeds are attractive enough, to be sure. Unfortunately, when most of them speak it's apparent they don't have a brain in their heads and they quickly become less interesting.

Ah, that's where they demonstrate their genius.  They get us guys to underestimate them.  Pretty soon they own your car and are gassing it up using your credit card.   :P

Sorry.  Guess I was in a silly mood due to caffeine deprivation.  Time for a coffee.   :D

I'm the opposite - I get in a silly mood *after* the coffee (but then I'm not a big coffee drinker).

I only have a couple a day.  I discovered kafe with milk Cuban coffee in Miami.  It's the only way I like my coffee now.  It's also the only thing I know how to order in Spanish.  :)

Uh OK, I found it though the Microsoft forums but it's also mentioned on various others, (SuperUser, eightforums, etc), and a couple of the users had checked it out, (for nasty stuff), and it came up OK.

Still, surprising MS has thought to include this functionality.

I don't have any C# on this machine yet or I may have played around with the source that was on the blog.  Yeah you could do some cool things with the switches.  Even something simple like a delay, then sleep(if I can think of a reason for the delay.)  If nothing else the standard whoopie cushion audio file may be apropos.  :)

You can also get a small program to do it from here: http://akhaliq.com/?p=198

Thanks for the reply.  I found that but the poster was paranoid as it seemed like an exe in a zip out of nowhere.  He flat out refused to run it(for which I can't criticize him.)

A poster on another forum wanted software that would cause his Laptop to just lock the screen rather than sleep.  After looking around it seemed not trivial to do.  I found a working script on AutoIt3 forums. I tried it on my Laptop and it worked.  If any Laptop owners think it may be handy to have the thread is here:

http://www.autoitscr...or-laptop-lid-state/

On Windows 8 you may have to stick
#RequireAdmin at the top of the script.  To run or compile you'll need the latest stable AutoIt3 available from the sames site as the forum.

Edit: note that to use it you should first set your power options for Lid Close to Do Nothing.

Just today I was remembering this cute high school girl I dated when she was 15.  Now, if she's still alive, she's 51 19 years old!!

There. Made it more interesting.  :)

Now I know why you're going back to school.  You'll learn more from the coeds than the professors I'm sure.  ;)
If I can get some institution to sponsor me(or find some lucrative work) I might just go myself.  You should see what the college girls are not wearing in Miami!!  Aiyyyy.  :)

It's starting to scare me.  Just today I was remembering this cute high school girl I dated when she was 15.  Now, if she's still alive, she's 51 years old!!  Damn!!  I guess time goes by quickly even if you're not having fun.  :)

@Miles - and we just know that particular poseur in the photo adopted one purely for effect. ;D

(Lord - are we getting that old? :tellme:)

Heh heh.  When I think of The General(tm) uttering "I Shall Return" only to top it later with "I Have Returned" I think former Cal. Governor Arnie S. may not be as stupid as I thought with "I'll Be Back."  :)

Hmmm, for some reason that photo reminds me of "The Stupendous Yappi" in X-Files Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose episode.

I used to listen to The David Brudnoy Show in Boston.  At one time he was a member of MENSA.  I guess due to old ties he invited the 2 MENSA recruiters to his radio show once a year.  The funny thing was the woman of the pair may have had some high I.Q. but she had no common sense.  Most of the show was occupied by Brudnoy and the male MENSA recruiter ripping their hair out as they tried to get her to grasp simple concepts pertaining to the workings of the real world.  It was hilarious... sort of like when The Three Stooges passed themselves off as College Professors(tm).  :)

not using countermeasures
Yes.  But that's pretty common knowledge and I don't think anyone is arguing against that fact.

I dunno'.  I use a certain scripting language that bans people from their forums if they get wind of them using the 'D' word.  :(
