Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Display dpi

what dpi setting do you have?

ps. your versions are more recent than mine, so i don't think its a dll problem..
must be something that i'm doing that is reacting strangely in your case..

and test window sizing and about box again?

probably both will still be there.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
this is not a setup program! it is a replacement .exe in a zip file, so you need to copy this over on top of your existing Find and Run Robot directory and restart F&R.

If you would prefer i make setup programs as usual let me know.

this thread was split off from the one on richedit problem, so it may seem a bit confusing.

one clue i need to help me figure out problem - when the window popup up showing scroll bars, can you try this:
put your cursor on right hand window edge and drag it just a tiny bit to the LEFT.

that is, you are going to make the window SMALLER a little bit.
see if it doesnt readjust itself and get rid of scrollbars.

if so, then the problem is one thing that i will be able to address, if it doesn't then its a different issue.

actually you know i use a richedit control just because i thought i might allow some formatting text (bold,etc.) but since i don't, i could just change to a control that doesnt use richedit at all and that would solve the problem.  maybe i'll just do that...

i personally hate that control panel, file properties dialogs, etc. don't show up in taskbar so this is a great thing.
it's too bad there isn't an official operating system registry tweak to do this... or if there is i don't know it.  if anyone finds one let us know.

one thing that user fodder reported and i've confirmed is that if you have UNC shortcuts in your Recent Documents list (links to files on a remote computer via your lan), it can cause a stall in F&R as it tries to resolve the links; that will be fixed soon.

we don't live with such problems - we fix them!
don't worry we will get it fixed, as long as you are still willing to test fix attempts.

one of things i've learned is that for every 1 person who reports a bug, probably 100 others experience it and just get mad and uninstall, so i treat all bug reports as things that need to be fixed.

let me prepare another test version to try.

itunes2 has a really nice slim titlebar (statusbar is still too tall here on my machine at least - any chance of getting that fixed? and can we rename it "compactitunes"?).

now what's this about the graphics bug - i don't see it here..  does it happen with every skin? only when transparency is enabled? only when autoshrink is enabled?

anyone else have that bug?

btw i like that metal skin a alot too but i hate how tall the top and bottom stuff is (titlebar and status bar).. i wish someone would edit that skin and make them very thin.

ah i understand - with the autosize thing always going down, this is a problem for you.. makes sense.

its easy enough for me to make it expand up, EXCEPT..
would you then want the edit field to stay on the bottom, with the list of results above it.. what ould be a little harder.. but without that feature, it might be disconcerting to have the edit field always changing location...

actually i think i should be able to do it.

i've collected what i think are the best from your opera page and will be uploading a default alias set tomorrow, then i would appreciate help in adding or removing from that so we can come to an agreement on the best overall default set of alias groups to include in version 2.

thats a good point..
when you match an alias name exactly it will stop searching, but when its not an exact match it keeps going..
i'm not sure how reliably i can have it figure out to stop, i'll think about it.

1) yes you are right about adding ^
2) i've fixed the ability handle spaces at least for mailto and urls (they are automatically converted to %20)
3) i will add hotkey for popping up preferences
4) i noticed an error myself when pasting aliases in, so i will look into that.

5) i will also add an option to main configuration that lets you say that a certain character need to start any alias command
so that if you have an alias called email, and set the option prefix character to $ then it wont trigger any aliases or regular expression matches unless you type $email.
