home_anim.gif

... Grab Contacts, Leads, Tasks, and Appointments into Outlook®, Palm™ Desktop, or Agendus INSTANTLY from any text on your screen, such as an e-mail signature, meeting invitation, or web search results.

by the way, all your wife needs to remember is, to press Ctrl+R > Alt+1 (for 1024x768 pixels), (or Alt+9 for 1920x1080 pixels),> OK > save.

and tell her to not look at the screen but at the keyboard ;-)

Congratulations on your new application, Renegade ;-)

While in theory I agree with many of your point of views, I simply cannot understand the reason for this one:

... JPG ratios? 80% is good enough.

In my opinion, 80% is never good enough. Especially the iris in the eye will need more, I think. Well, in fact the "80%" is the very reason I haven't tested your program. But of course, the program was not made for me but for your wife ;-)

2) No 64-bits support.

But apart from this, Yes, it sounds very interesting.

-can this perhaps be the reason that when I did a system restore on my own computer, Windows started by asking me to tell what language my keyboard was using?

However, her Dell computer did not ask me that question.

It doesn't help me or her that your pc is using F8, when the problem was that her and my pc does not. I can assure you that I tapped F8 many times.

But, well, the thread's subject was lost, so I will leave it here.

Didn't my first line state that it was a lady who couldn't tell a picture from a program? Please don't tell about a hundred useless solutions! I actually updated her Vista to SP2, if you know what I mean.

-no, no and no!!! F8 was in the old days! It is not like this any more! My computer from Siemens and her computer from Dell does not respond to F8. Oh, why didn't I think to tell this in the initial post. There are millions, no zillions of computers that does not do anything at all on F8.

General Software Discussion / Why is System Restore not placed the proper place?
« Last post by Curt on January 23, 2011, 04:59 PM »
Today a girlfriend came with her laptop and said, "I thought I was opening a picture my son had emailed me, and suddenly all these things and flares came up...". Sigh!

Luckily, "all" I had to do was to tell (Vista) System Restore to do its job. [Edited: and here I forgot to tell that F8 did not do anything!] However, this turned out to be really really difficult, almost impossible! The pop-us were blocking my every attempt to do anything. I literally clicked "no" and "yes" almost a thousand times before I somehow finally managed to start System Restore.

This leads me to my simple question: Why on earth must I start an infected system, in order to start a blocked program, in order to clean the infected system? To me, this is far too much Catch 22: "If your system is blocked, open your system and use System Restore. If System Restore is blocked, use System Restore" - a no-win situation! Why isn't System Restore placed next to Log-in??? Is there a reasonable explanation to this? Or is it that everybody involved are imcomp... ehh (edited, due to peace, love and understanding): ...or is it that no one involved could imagine this situation?

Why is System Restore not placed the proper place? Or is it? Where is the proper place for System Restore? Next to Log-in?

Curt: <Now where did I get this feature from? ?!>

Maybe from here:
http://www.theelderg...e_list_generator.htm

SKA

It sure is the same.

But I didn't get it from that page, because mine has a "_" and a different location (not "C/WINDOWS/filelisting.bat", so where is it?), so someone has altered it for me.

But normally I use a much faster solution: Right-click the folder and click "Create FileListing Text". HALF A SECOND later File_Listing.txt has been created and saved. End of story. Now where did I get this feature from? ?!

-forgive my ignorance, but I had to look that one up:

To reconstruct a full color image from the data collected by the color filtering array, a form of interpolation is needed to fill in the blanks. The mathematics here is subject to individual implementation, and is called demosaicing.

A demosaicing algorithm is a digital image process used to reconstruct a full color image from the incomplete color samples output from an image sensor overlaid with a color filter array (CFA). Also known as CFA interpolation or color reconstruction, another common spelling is demosaicking.

Most modern digital cameras acquire images using a single image sensor overlaid with a CFA, so demosaicing is part of the processing pipeline required to render these images into a viewable format. However, a Bayer image can be also seen as a grayscale image.

Many modern digital cameras can save images in a raw format allowing the user to demosaic it using software, rather than using the camera's built-in firmware.

Goal:
The aim of a demosaicing algorithm is to reconstruct a full color image (i.e. a full set of color triples) from the spatially undersampled color channels output from the CFA. The algorithm should have the following traits:

    * Avoidance of the introduction of false color artifacts, such as chromatic aliases, zippering (abrupt unnatural changes of intensity over a number of neighboring pixels) and purple fringing
    * Maximum preservation of the image resolution
    * Low computational complexity for fast processing or efficient in-camera hardware implementation
    * Amenability to analysis for accurate noise reduction

Use in computer image processing software:
When one has access to the raw image data  from a digital camera, one can use computer software with a variety of different demosaicing algorithms instead of being limited to the one built into the camera. A few raw development programs, such as Raw Therapee, give the user an option to choose which algorithm should be used. Most programs, however, are coded to use one particular method. The differences in rendering the finest detail (and grain texture) that come from the choice of demosaicing algorithm are among the main differences between various raw developers; often photographers will prefer a particular program for aesthetic reasons related to this effect.

The color artifacts due to demosaicing provide important clues for identifying photo forgeries.

Dear ha14,

Thank you for telling us about all these fine offers you come across!

However, (please forgive me for now acting like a teacher), it is about time you start using the "quote"-button! Otherwise the readers are tempted to think that you know a lot about the programs you tell us about - you know: "oh, ha14 say this program can do all this in 'any situation no matter how fantastic'...

Face Off Max lets you put any face into any situation no matter how fantastic!

1) Press the quote button:

1Q.gif

2) and insert your text between the brackets:

2i.gif

3) you can even tell us who you are quoting, by placing a "=" inside the first bracket, right after the word "quote", like this:

3=.gif

>> giving this result:

I am was in need of help! If you have a genuine HDR manipulator, please take a look at this photo and see if you can "fine rotate / straight line / horizon correction" it, without destroying the HDR light. None of my programs can do it, but I can't stand looking at the skew... Of course I have plenty of programs that can rotate the photo, but they will all ruin the light, and my one HDR program cannot fine-rotate it. What program do I need?

... Compare It ... I was very disappointed to learn I can't edit .rtf files with it. What kind of crap is that???

-I was very surprised to read this. Are you seriously saying a comparing program is crap because the build-in TXT editor isn't also a RTF editor, a DOC editor, a DOCX editor, a XLS editor, a PDF editor, an ODT editor, and a this and that editor???

However, if you should choose to request a new feature, regarding RTF:

CompareIt does not allow to edit extracted text - because saving will destroy original file.

But probably I should allow editing in this case with saving to another text file.
-Igor Green, grigsoft.com

-"another text file", not "RTF file".

-"probably" may be equal to "if enough users request such feature".
"request" may mean "politely ask for", or similar, but YMMV.
