try searching for winpcap and "administrator rights"
url snooper uses the winpcap engine and i'm sure there are some posts about this issue at winpcap support site or web.

Site/Forum Features / NEW SITE FEATURE: Wiki
« Last post by mouser on October 30, 2005, 02:45 AM »
https://www.donationcoder.com/wiki

I still don't know exactly how we're going to use this, but feel free to play around with it in the meantime.

We discussed the possibility of doing group collaboration on reviews using the wiki.

Maybe there's someone with some wiki experience who can clue us in to some of the stuff we might consider?

Software is the Open Source Media Wiki.

Site/Forum Features / NEW SITE FEATURE: Bug Tracker + Feature Request System
« Last post by mouser on October 30, 2005, 02:42 AM »
https://www.donation...m/Software/Tracking/

This will soon become the official way of submitting bug reports and feature requests for all software on DonationCoder.com.

Such a system should make it much easier to keep track of requests and bugs and insure that none are overlooked.

We will probably be doing some tweaking of that section in the upcoming weeks; software is the Open Source Mantis system.

thank you very much for your report bigbadbuu - your comments make a lot of sense.
a new version of process tamer will be out this month and i hope to investigate this more before then.

if someone could find a program or two for me that pt can't tame that i could run during testing, that would help a lot.

wow!

i've been configuring a new wiki on this site because i thought we would see if a wiki might be a better way to prep for a review.. as soon as i get it finished (tonight) we can see if its easier from your standpoint to use that or an html outline template.
34657
i think we need a review of bittorrent clients..

i've used a couple of these tools - most are a bit overly complicated for my use.
i bought a license for edge diagrammer (which is already in your list) many years ago - it seemed to me much faster to start and use and was much more intuitive, made it easier for me to get ideas onto paper.  it may not be able to compete with some of the really complicated featuresets, but i've found it consistently more intuitive to use for limited stuff.

it has the advantage that I can make the bold and italic versions the same width as the regular font

excellent - looks great.

something like vmware would really make this easy to experiment with
because you could build a setup in your vmware and also test it without risking any damage.

are you using a non-standard theme?
if so try going back to default theme during testing.

looks like from the image that it isnt finding its copyright text in the template, and freaking out and locking you out of it.

sword - that would be great to start off a review on diagrammers!

and wow!!! that's some list!
personally i'm very interested in this category and would be thrilled to see a comprehensive review of this category.

let me put up a template for the part1 section of reviews on the website you can download.
basically its just like an outline with a table for putting info about programs.

at least 50-60% of the work of these reviews is collecting a list of the various applications and making this part1 overview of the category and the screenshots and program info, so it would be a HUGE great start to start to make progress on that.

let me know any other way i can help.

once the part1 "catalog" of programs is written, the rest of us can help narrow down the field and identify the top tier of programs that are worthy of more detailed investigation..

i'm really looking forward to this review..

yes to both.

the answer to first might be to run PT as a service; there was some discussion of looking into this earlier but i haven't yet.  if you can find any discussion of these issues and why some apps "resist" i'd love to see.

the answer to second is that i will probably implement this as an option, though there seems to be a debate about whether one would expect to get a benefit from this, since windows 2k/xp is supposed to do this semi-automatically behind the scenes, as i understand it.

looks beautiful.

what i don't quite understand is, it seems to suppoer norman + bitdefener antivirus engines...
can you explain how that works, do they license those, or you have to have those installed separately on your own?

if i went into a bread store, and spent an hour looking for bread, and couldn't find it.
i would probably yell at everyone and write up a very mean blog about that bread store  :D

Ben, I apologize.

you can see from this thread:
https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=1344.0

that you weren't alone in being confused and frustrated.
we upgraded servers yesterday, and the transition has been a little bit rocky.  you can imagine that the site is big enough that it's a little hard to check every page.

for most of yesterday it seems the non-member license key download page was not generating keys for non-members - so you probably visited that page and felt like you were losing your mind.

you should now be able to visit the license key page

i agree that wasted time is worth as much as money and i'm sorry it was so frustrating.

please send me an email (you and anyone who had similar troubles and who signed up at the forum yesterday ), for a non-expiring license key that never needs renewal. [[email protected]].

and jibz - shame on you  :o
you are normally so nice, i think you ran out of your coffee today.  :-\
34672
don't forget all of the programs on this site are FREEWARE (or donationware or debatablenameware).

people who don't donate or who aren't charter members can download individual keys for individual programs, which last for 6 months before they have to come back and download another key.

so basically if you aren't a charter/horonoary member, the programs can be used forever without limitations or nags, but you have to come back to the site to renew your licenses every 6 months (and you have to generate a diffferent license key for each program.

also, the newest programs may initially be released only to members and take a couple weeks/months before they come out of their initial member-only=preview stage (see unicode text-to-image).
34673
it should be fixed now - thank you for letting us know about the error.

for those who are curious the problem was with the script parsing the arguments passed in the url (after the ?);
the old php interpreter was permitting the parsing of these arguments too permisively - the new php installation required a minor fix to make it work.
34674
the server switchover is causing a bit of havok.
can you try again and see if it works for you in a bit, if not, let us know what error you get.
and email me and ill send you a license in the meantime ([email protected])
