Both Novell ZEN Application Virtualization and VMWare's ThinApp ^Wikipedia offer application 'portabilization', by packaging an entire application and it's required environment into a single exe. At a tradeshow (2009) I got an USB key holding a ZEN packaged OpenOffice installation (it sure was not the Portable OpenOffice!) to try, and it works just fine. Nothing to install, nothing to clear if you need to get rid of it, just run it.

That's a whole lot lighter then running a portable VBox instance.

It's been broken for so long that I can't remember, but I didn't report it here, as I should have
I've always been using Edit/Copy Image/Object to Clipboard (Ctrl-C) menuitem, that works fine.

a folder in my pc with subfolders and files inside. In the main folder a would like to put a director document or a sort of menu with explanations (I was thinking in word xp with hyperlinks to the documents - images, audio, video, pdf, doc, etc)

Euhm, you could start a new thread for each HowTo* describing the intended HowTo*, and add/update with any contributions, as in posts from other users, to your original message to build a complete as possible first thead-message, holding the entire HowTo*, eventually.
It would ofcourse be nice to name any contributes, but much less distracting if the additional posts would initially be hidden, until a 'Reveal all comments' button was pressed, just like a spoiler button in a single message.



*) HowTo's and Mini-reviews should be handled equally, IMHO, just use the correct title-prefix

As an alternative to adapting the donation credit system, the pledgees could withhold the 'final delivery' of their goodies, until they receive a certain amount of donations, they then turn over to the site, and release the stuff?

That would be a nice feature, but does the donation credit system support that? Only if a level of sponsorship (set by the pledgee I presume) is reached, the CSnack download will be available/Tim's drawing will be sent/Reviews are fully revealed (all of the pledges I can recall from memory) etc? Possibly showing the amount/percentage still left to be donated. Hm, sounds like I'm chasing mouser to work, dunno if that's allowed

They (development team) screwed something up. What's not clear yet? For more details you'll probably need the VCS logs or the original dev audio-recordings when they fixed it...

Well, on a lot of applications I can't get it to grab just the client area.
I can grab the separate controls like toolbars, listviews etc., and ofcourse the entire window, but not the complete area inside the window-border. AFAICS, that's what LasseT is asking for.

I'd try 'Grab windows Object or Scrolling window (<your hotkey>)' to select the object you want, and press Ctrl-Primary-mouseClick to grab that. Depending on the type of Windows form/control it is or isn't able to select the object you want...

Are you sending the hotkeys to the right window/exe? or is this about global hotkeys? In the latter case it's probably that your 'secondary' AHK script-engine is re-grabbing the global hotkey chain, interrupting the original setup of Trout.
