In my nsh opinion too many versions of Minion have not been updated for too long. Several members does not have the euro sign, €, some not even at, @
But maybe my versions all were cheap (free) rip-offs?

I *know* nothing about this, but I *feel* it is likely that Daminion is based upon a program that used to be made by MasRizal - because it is no longer on their site. Their prices also used to be identical to the ones you quoted.

it is a little difficult to figure out what the normal asking price is because of various offers including or excluding some anti-malware solution, but it may be $11.75, and not the advertised $29.95:

I like the program, but I think it would stand a better chance if it "merely" was on facebook!

when removed, the program will leave these few files in AppData:

Locations - United States
This setting is enabled by default because this is a major feature of Earth Alerts. When enabled, you must have one United States Location setup. This is your "Primary Location". You can also add multiple additional U.S. Locations. However, if you do not wish to monitor Weather, Earthquake or Wildland Fire activity for specific U.S. Locations, you can disable this entire feature by unchecking the setting here.

Living Room / Earth Alerts (freeware)
« Last post by Curt on March 24, 2011, 05:00 AM »
http://earthalerts.manyjourneys.com/

Earth Alerts includes basic weather tracking features such as National Weather Service alerts, current conditions, local forecasts and radar/satellite imagery. Note that this program does not provide the most extensive weather data or "fanciest" weather related imagery compared to what is available online.

I created Earth Alerts to do more than just track weather-related phenomenon. The inspiration for Earth Alerts grew out of an idea to create a single application for monitoring multiple types of natural hazard events. After all, our planet can be quite destructive to us mortals, by offering up dangers in a variety of ways! Earth Alerts is a little program for anybody who is fascinated with the power of nature and enjoys keeping track of what our little blue planet is dishing out on a regular basis!

Earth Alerts is freeware, but donations are appreciated.

Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, hurricanes, typhoons, tornadoes, thunderstorms, floods, wildfires, landslides... ...these are the kinds of things our planet dishes out, which arouses human curiosity, fascination and fear.

System Requirements:
    * 32-bit/64-bit Windows 7/Vista, 32-bit Windows XP/2000
    * .NET Framework 3.5

http://earthalerts.manyjourneys.com/
-Earth Alerts
# Visual and sound notifications on your Windows desktop identifying active alerts

# Email: information on any type of natural hazard tracked by Earth Alerts can be automatically sent as soon as an alert is raised; email messages contain the same alert reports and images as shown in the Earth Alerts application screens

# Mobile Phone: SMS/MMS messages containing summary alert information with related images (MMS enabled phones only) can be automatically sent to your mobile device; these notifications cover the most severe natural hazard events, including major earthquakes, tsunami watches/warnings, volcanic eruptions and tornado warnings

# Google Earth integration provides visualizations of recent earthquake events, volcanoes, tropical cyclones, wildland fires and severe weather warnings. Google Earth integration also provides high resolution views of any location

I assume that the standard upgrade policy also applies to the Ashampoo offer, but you might want to double check.

-I don't think it does; the license box is stamped "Ashampoo Version".
But I have just now written the company and asked.

foresee that the final versions (most likely) will be shareware only.

No, I am not testing it. I merely installed it to have a look, and then removed it again.

Thanks,

But how is it the saying goes: "jack of all, master of none" or something? Maybe it doesn't matter, because the graphical interface is black on black, so I have very little idea where to click or not.

One detail that may or may not tell much, if anything at all, is, that the site's forum contains three major threads, of which one is named Testimonials. This particular thread has not had any new entries for 2½ years... !??

I tested a lot of this kind of programs when I was running XP, but because of the asking price, I did not test this one - apparently I didn't notice the giveaway. Now I think I will install it,    because of the $120 ;-)
