Here you go, Contro:  ContrOrganizer

Please test this on copies of your files first to make sure it does what you want.  Some notes:

  • Files are moved (not copied).
  • A shortcut is created in the original location pointing to the newly-moved file.
  • Both the shortcut and the moved file have their creation date set to the creation date of the original file.
  • Should handle Unicode paths.
  • Files that are marked as hidden or as system files are skipped.
  • LNK files are skipped as well.

Just finished Book I of the KingKiller trilogy, The Name of the Wind.

I'm about two-thirds of the way through it and loving it.  Great read so far.

Coding Snacks / Re: Color Folders in Outlook
« Last post by skwire on April 21, 2011, 09:24 AM »
I'm not much of an Outlook user but, from what I've researched, this capability only became available programmatically in Outlook 2010.  In other words, it's extremely doubtful this can be done in older versions of Outlook.  Furthermore, I couldn't find an Outlook 2010 add-in with this capability so it's possible this isn't a trivial thing to do even with the API access.

Good work, kyrathaba.   Some thoughts after a quick play:

  • The mix of fixed-width and variable-width menu text is somewhat distracting.
  • Decrypting a KPT file with an incorrect password still produces a "password-accepted" message box and a resulting file (though it's unusable).

I looked through the post & didn't see where this has been asked before.  Is it possible to add a bookmark function?  Or is it there and I just haven't found it?

There is no bookmark function in Trout.

I know I downloaded the Portable version, but the DcUpdate file links to download the exe which runs the installer? Shouldn't it download and unpack the zip file over the current files?

Well, the issue is that I have no idea if you're running the portable or installed version.  I suppose I could check the registry.

Can you rar/7zip some sample files and make them available?  If you don't have any webspace, I can PM you details to FTP them directly to my server.

Skwire, it's nice enough of you to try to help, but can't you speed it up a bit?
It's taking you almost haf an hour!

It would have been quicker but I had to take my daughters to school first.   Priorities, I know.  :P

As for that error, I can reproduce it.  However, I haven't a clue why it happens.   :-[

So, I presume you were able to recursively load MD5 files from your music folder?  Also, if I may, are the changes intuitive enough?  One thing I still need to add is a way to cancel a scan (either with a button or, say, the Escape key).
