it's true they have a non-expiring version and your interpretation is sensible: it's really $110 for non expiring full version, and the rest of the licenses are just special case oddities.

as for ideas and suggestions:

inspiration from your avatar:
call it..  Snoop Doggy Notes (SD Notes for short, or just Doggy Notes).

i love treeview organized hierarchical notes.. but maybe just to be different you could think up some alternative organization that would make it unique.

hehehe -
be careful - there are so many note taking apps out there, and it's easy to go insane making one.
i've been warned myself by members here about do i really want to embark on such a project (regarding clipboard helps+spell and making a new version of it..)

see the letter by the author of keynote on him burning out from working on the never finished keynote2 idea in another thread as well..

but it's very tempting i must admit.  for a programmer it's a fun project.
the best advice given to me if you are determined to work on it is to check out keynote2 discussions for ideas.  though i guess my first advice would be, are you sure there isn't another project you might want to work on that doesn't have so much good competition..

works great here!!
yes i got same error on first use and not after that.

One thing - its set to update the RSS feed every 100 seconds - that's really pretty high and could be a drain on the server if everyone leaves it at that.  can i suggest that future versions set default poll rate to once every 5 or 15 minutes?

ill try to answer in pieces.

one easy way to do #3 is that any clip marked as a "favorite" will show up in the quick paste menu, so that's an easy way to  have your favorites in the quick menu paste.

i think a) points out that i really need to save options after they have been modified rather than on shutdown, for the reasons you say.

can you describe 1 more?

i think insane is a good description.

i mean if you want to stop giving updates after 6 months, ok whatever, not cool but im not going to call you insane.
but to say that after 6 months you have to stop using a local drawing program unless you pay a license renewal fee, that's just wrong.

IT: Microsoft Anti-Spyware Removes Norton Anti-Virus
An anonymous reader writes "According to a story over at Washingtonpost.com, the latest definitions file for Microsoft's Anti-Spyware beta flags Symantec's Norton Antivirus products as a password-stealing trojan and prompts users to delete portions of the program. Users who follow the instructions hose their installation of Norton, requiring delicate Windows registry edits and a complete removal/reinstall of Norton. Microsoft's support forum is quickly filling up with complaints about this problem, many from businesses that have been pretty hard hit. This should be a cautionary tale about deploying beta products in production environments."

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: TopDesk

this is a good opportunity to point out something.
check the entbloess"affiliates" page:  http://www.entbloess....php?page=affiliates

people can get 40% of the price of entbloess when someone buys entbloess by following a special affiliate link.

this is where an email to entbloess from one of you to that company could really come in handy.

here is how i usually put it to a company, something like this:
"we don't want any comissions on sales - we only ask that you offer a generous discount to members of our forum, larger than the normal affiliate price - because since there is no affiliate fee you have to pay, you are bound to get more customers"

and point them to this thread where the discussion is already on such tools.

it's a great opportunity for a company to offer a 50% discount to our members and they are bound to make quite a few sales especially if they act while the discussion is active; and 50% discounts on programs discussed in threads like this with praise from trusted members will get mentioned in the newsletter which means lots of people reading this thread, etc.  [i highly recommend to all companies a 50% discount like most of our discounts, but the rule we have adopted is at least 30% or don't bother, and it has to be more than any affilliate fee for reasons i discussed above].

so in short - do everyone a favor and if you find a program you like enough to talk about and purchase - why not send them an email, tell them your a fan, point them to the thread on the forum and ask them about offering a discount to our members.  it's a much better deal for them then these affiliate things they all run.

might mention that we always ask if they are willing to donate a few free copies for us to give away, which is just a nice gesture that most companies are more than happy to do.

they can always contact me directly if they want to talk more ([email protected]), but having a real user contact them first makes a huge difference, much better than me trying to convince them it's a good idea.

make it a new rule - before you buy any program you like, contact the author and discuss the possibility of them offering a discount to our members!

[this goes for topdesk as well of course, which also looks very nice]
