Next update contains no major new features but does fix a few things:

• Fixed notepad not having any shortcuts/save/open/new functions.
• Main window now actually notices if you make changes to your word list and will warn you if you haven't saved your list before exiting the application (so you don't lose any work)

• Trimmed a huge amount of code that wasn't being used, so the application now starts up a lot faster than it did before (for me at least).

Probably gonna add some more stuff before releasing this version - if anybody has any feature requests for the next update, now is the time to let me know

OK, I just downloaded AM onto another laptop, extracted it into its own folder (as you would do) and ran AudioMarker.exe - absolutely 0 problems, ran straight away.  I can only honestly think the fact tomos has updated .NET and it's not showing properly on his system could be the possible cause.

nope, and to be honest I didn't expect it to have the correct .NET either lol. It was my mrs's laptop and she has 0 device tools installed on it.

No success here -- but I havent looked closer at the NET issue (and wont tonight).

1) original version did load with default tab Notepad, google translate tab worked.
2) tried the most recent version (in a new folder) with same result -- immediately get the "AudioMarker has stopped working etc" message

Will get back to you after I've sorted the NET thing.

It's very odd because the only things that I really changed in this version (from the previous) were:

• Added saveFileDialog to HTML_Export function
• Moved Notepad to its own window
• Moved Google Translate to default window
• Added SelectAll/Cut/Copy/Paste to nativeText and foreignText textBoxes

So...I can't honestly figure out what could have possibly changed to cause it to crash on your system.  Mouser suggested it may be a missing file, but as it works fine for him, I don't see how it could be that.

OK, Mouser updated to the .NET that AM needs and it loaded fine.

@tomos Can you try extract AM into a completely new folder where there are no previous files and let me know if it works for you then?  If not, the only thing I can think of is that something on your side is messing with AM and causing it not to load (possibly that weird setup you have with .NET there).

Further to the above:

Mouser just checked it in a VM and it stated he needs .NET 4.6.1, so it's looking like that may be the issue - He's going to update .NET now and I'll update this once he has/checked if it worked.

could well be a NET issue:
windows update says 4.7.2 was successfully installed, but when I check via this:

it only lists up to version 4.0

Let's see if anyone else with Win.7 tests it (any takers?)

I'm not sure that it WOULD be a .NET issue though as I haven't actually changed anything (that I know of) that would affect it.  In the previous versions, did you manage to load the Google/DeepL translation tabs? (The only things I know of that would potentially be the cause) - I mainly ask because I changed the order of the tabs and Google Translate now opens as the default tab, rather than the (now moved) Notepad.

Update:

Release Date: 20:32GMT - 30th October 2018
New Features: Export word lists as XLS | Export word lists as HTML
Feature Changes:  Notepad is now a full-popout instead of embedded in the main window.  NB: Notepad does not currently support any of the menu options (save/open and such) - this will be enabled in the next update.

Bug Fixes:  YouTube Popout no longer causes AM to crash | Cut/Copy/Paste/Select All (+ Shortcuts) now work in "Enter words" text boxes.

OK...That was utterly ridiculous to fix...but it's working now lol...who would have thought that the HTML exporter would be easier than doing simple shortcuts in a textBox control.....

Looks good --
in the Insert .. phrase fields, I cannot:
# cut or paste using the usual shortcuts
# select all using Ctrl+A (I can use Shift+Hme from end of phrase, so not really bothered by this)

Any chance you could get #1 there working?

As it turns out...it's refusing to work...this should be simple...But...annoyingly...when I get it working in one of the boxes...the other one stops working....give me a little while with this and I'll have it working by next release.

• Export word list as XLS (Requires you to manually choose "tab spacing" when opening in spreadsheet software)
• Export word list to HTML (All data will be exported into an automatically created HTML file with all the data showing in a table) - See image below for example output

Bugs Fixed
YouTube popout actually works without killing the entire program.

OK, Next version has Google and DeepL translations built into the main screen of the software.  At the moment, these tabs take a few seconds to activate but once they have been loaded, they are lightning fast.  I'm trying to speed up the initial loading (or make it obvious it's actually doing something) - hopefully, I'll have that done by the next update.

It's not fully functional yet (I somehow forgot to actually include the ability to save/load those lists.  I'll be adding a list of learning resources at some stage - I'm considering how to do this properly though as there are so many languages and all my current lists are 100% based on Italian stuff lol.  Perhaps I should provide one list (Italian) and just allow people to share their own somehow.  Not sure yet.

Update:
Download moved to Google Drive due to increased file size (owing to Cef.Sharp inflating the number of files contained within the app).

All features that showed as confirmed in the 2nd post have now been released.
