Import aborted: java.lang.Exception: Error
parsing import file: Unknown file format for import data. Should be json or simple
text that whose first line starts with

Sorry if it still isn't available.  Google rejected my update because in the description I wrote:
"My wife and I use this app to review a small set of relationship questions each week during a long walk."
Just reporting: still not available

Added a new "book" of items you can download from the Tools->Import->Browse suggested online list:
https://kk.org/thete...-unsolicited-advice/
It crashes each time I try to do this.
V. 1.0.8 (ist that the most recent?)

Trick is you gotta remember to lick both sides of the memory module before snapping it into the motherboard, otherwise the current flow won't be fully primed and the buss width will be cut in half..
So that's what I need to do now to stave off the boredom :-\ :P

^ Thanks for the review mouser.

I spent half a day attempting to assemble one computer from two old ones. It took me so long because I dont have a clue what I'm doing -- I've never built a PC. But now I do have more of a clue. (Unfortunately it didnt work, but that didnt bother me too much as I really did learn a lot doing it...).

Will try and build something at some stage (with new parts), but also would now feel much more confident about changing something within a machine.

Good review of Affinity as a photo editor in today's AskWoody newsletter.

I believe you need to be a Plus member (donation) to read it.
thanks
I think it would be okay to quote the conclusion (if you think otherwise let me know, here or per PM, & I will redact)
Affinity Photo is a great value, given the depth of tools it offers. Take advantage of the free trial to see whether it fits your workflow nicely.

Pros: Clear video tutorials and automatic adjustments that save a lot of time.

Cons: No print equivalents of the video tutorials. The RAW processing seems slow, and the controls for perspective distortion are limited: the results were unsatisfactory.

A couple of graphs -- I probably dont fully understand how they work, but did find interesting:

The Coronavirus Curve - Numberphile

How To Tell If We're Beating COVID-19

The animated graph the above video is based on is here (updated at link)

v2.52.1 alpha uploaded:

    • [Feature] Advance rules can now specify to ignore hash on certain formats.
this works for the inkscape vector clips
I set CHS to ignore the inkscape svg (image/x-inkscape-svg) hash, now duplicates are recognised as such. (If I modify the object slightly it is recognised as a new clip )

Here the description of the problem in an earlier post:
The [format/s] that are different are the svg [formats].

[ Invalid Attachment ]

[ Invalid Attachment ]

on the left from folder chs1, right is chs2
Clips look identical when pasted.

This looks to me like Inkscape is titling all 'id numbers' differently. I guess that could be filtered, (please note for me this not so important -- I'm going to save clips occasionally to favourites. Beyond that I wont mind duplicates... Willing to keep checking though if you want: my main machine is down so currently no access to illustrator.

Cool.  It would be nice if the output was shown in table style with columns.. And maybe with option to sort columns.
(I haven't tried it yet) or exportable as CSV file?

Screenshot Captor / Re: Screenshot Captor grabbing focus.
« Last post by tomos on March 29, 2020, 07:39 AM »
Possibly related focus issue (on a windows 7 machine):
SC is set to 'Save but keep main window minimized' after capture.
With SC window open in the background, take a screenshot -- in a test of six screenshots (full screen), two screenshot caused the main SC window to gain focus i.e. come to the front. It's possible it depends on when the SC window last had focus -- more recent causes it to opo up, I think). Possibly only a problem on win.7 (in which case not really worth looking at...)

I know this was reported before, and *think* it was fixed at the time (?) but not sure :-/

Living Room / Re: Archivarius questions (help using)
« Last post by tomos on March 29, 2020, 06:19 AM »
So, here's the good news, finally.  The "problem" was in a deep setting located in the program ... If you open Archivarius, select an index, and then select "Settings," there is an option titled "Morphology."  The program is defaulted to create an index in "morphology" mode, which dictates in turn how the search will function.  ... you must build the index without this morphological setting.
... I decided to give this thing a whirl.  And thank God (truly), it worked.
... so simply change this setting, and then rebuild your index.
I'm curious:
once you've indexed thus, is Archivarius able to do a 'fuzzy' search of same text?

Turn off the TV (the little psychosis factory) and throw it away.
I've done this the day after 9/11.
I've lived happily ever since...
I did that about 12 years ago. But then I got lost in the internet ...

Both links are redundant copies to the same page.
and neither link leads to what you say it does -- can you please fix that

With a quick test 'Reject the format' working well here.

The drop-down list is great --  A very minor request:
could most recent sort to the top of the list? Would make them easier to access.

Cloning:
Can you explain #4?
What is meant here is the ability to see e.g a folder in two or more different locations. They are the same folder (hence the use of the word 'clone' is misleading - unfortunately it seems to have gained some traction in the IM world).

This is probably known but report in case not:
Russian text is saved properly, and does paste properly, but is not displayed correctly in the quick-paste menu:

Screenshot - 2020-03-13 , 18_31_01.jpg

I'm presuming that's because CHS itself not unicode...

Really?  Because I downloaded and installed from the link on page 1 of this thread after reading your post on March 11, 2020, 03:54 PM (6 posts above this one) and there's been no further update announcement.  Is there a more official thread to get beta release notes and links?
hi djMot
my CHS exe (ClipboardHelpAndSpell.exe) downloaded from that link is dated 2020-03-11 21:45
Version number is 2.48.2
(Looking at my troubleshooting log, there's seems to have been two versions of 2.48.2)

Could be that it was in your browsers cache and you got an older version that way. Apparently that can happen.
